Stood at the hostess desk for almost 10 minutes and the restaurant was mostly empty before we were acknowledged and were eventually seated by the windows. View of river and U of Montana training tent. Slow service for coffee and even slower for breakfast entrees. Food was ok. Egg order was incorrect. Didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for the correction.,Any variance was an upcharge. Surprised when an additional $12 was charged to our room by the restaurant. Brunch with a view! Enjoyed a beautiful day on the patio overlooking the water. Finn is located inside a hotel. As you get closer you'll see signs pointing you to the correct entrance. Indoor and outdoor seating. Menu changes frequently. Good service. We enjoyed eggs Benedict, grilled chicken sandwich and delicious fries, and the mimosa carafe which comes with fun juices like orange/apple, grapefruit, and more. I ordered a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned today. When the bill came it was $44. I asked why the price was so totally out of line and I was told that all their drinks are automatically served as doubles. What ?????? When I said I didn't order a double the surly staff told me that that was just the way they do business. Needless to say = never again any business from me (a local Missoulian). Don't go there. The place is dead, the staff is awful, and the construction in this old property has been going on for much more than a year and has accomplished nothing. You still can't enter the building through the front door. What a dump! read more

Finn was a nice restaurant inside a hotel. We had to wait a little for our table even though we had a reservation. The waiter was good but I had to find her to order a drink which is not really a big issue. The food was very good. read more

Dining with a view! This place is to adore with its stunning natural balcony view of the river! The food was great! I went during happy hour; ordered their Dungeness crab and artichoke dip (must try, come back and get more!), their cold bar oysters (this is a go-to!), buffalo wings (my least fave but was good), and their huckleberry lemon drop cocktail (delishh!)! My server was super friendly and attentive I wish I remembered her name, and even though I felt I might've overstayed my dining limit, she saw how relaxed I was enjoying nature and its river view for hours, she continued to be attentive with me throughout. I went to Finn as I was staying in the hotel and had looked at the happy hour menu on line which featured $6 wines and a nice looking selection of food. When I arrived, and ordered the happy hour wine, I was half way through when I was told that they didn't have happy hour wine anymore. Instead they had a $10 featured wine so that didn't sit well with me as they should have told me when I ordered specifically "happy hour wine". The French onion soup looked a bit charred when it came out but that didn't affect the taste and both the soup and the beet salad were delicious. Terrible right now due to construction. A total mess! Still we were there for their happy hour...or what use to be. Their website and happy hour promos led us thru the mess. When we got to the bar we found out it had ALL changed. Prices now 3X what they were. No real "specials" at $1 off. Meh, at ridiculous hotel/expense account pricing, $1 off is an insult. So, we tried anyhow. Got 3 of the tiniest oysters I have EVER seen, the shell being about the outside dimensions of a small egg. They were good, but so tiny you really didn't get much of a taste. Decided to go elsewhare and they could not check us out. " Computer is down". Could not even take cash. Go elsewhere. Missoula has some great spots...this ain't one of them. read more

Ordered the cheese board to share with the table and the chicken farro bowl for myself. The date jam was seriously the star of that cheese board and I loved that it came with zaatar lavash instead of just a regular cracker! The chicken farro bowl was perfect for me but if you are someone with a very large appetite, it probably wouldn't be the ideal portion size for you. Being on the river is such a beautiful location and it is so relaxing to just watch the river flow by right outside the window! Although this restaurant is inside a hotel, it is a nice place if you are looking for a more upscale meal. The servers are nice. However, the menu is a bit small, and limited for each meal. Portions are also a little smaller, than I think they should be. read more

Let's get to it Local KOP Ranch Beef Burger - we both for the burger as it did sound and look very yummy and we were not disappointed. Nice, casual restaurant inside the Hilton Doubletree hotel. We were lucky enough to find ample parking for our rv on this Tuesday around 12:30pm. It was around 86 degrees out yet there was still a little availability on their outside deck but we opted for one of there cushy booths inside. The views were great from most tables anyway. We enjoyed our cocktails and soups to start. The entrees were delicious as well. We are very happy to have found this place. The lunch menu is pretty limited but we would dine here again for sure and would love to try the more extensive dinner menu. Our hostess and server did great. read more

On our one night stay here at the DoubleTree I was pleased to see the Yelp reviews for this restaurant because we were tired and didn't want to eat fast food again. What a nice experience with the river view, the service and food. Having just left Yellowstone and their disappointment with food, we were over the moon with the quality of dinner and breakfast. Hubby and I each had the grilled prime rib and shared the arugula salad which had cubes of watermelon, pistachios and goat cheese. So very fresh. The prime rib was prepared perfectly and accompanied with grilled summer squash, fennel and tomatoes. We ordered asparagus for the table which I had to flag the waiter for. Not a big deal actually because, over all, the meal was excellent. Having received meal vouchers, we had breakfast here and it too didn't disappoint. I had the smoked salmon Benedict and hubby had the traditional Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so nicely with the toasted English muffin. I really enjoyed the Benedict not only with the salmon but also arugula. I'd be happy to come back here because the food is fresh and prepared well. The outside seating looked like a great place to hang out on a warm summer day. Great job! read more

This has got to be my favorite restaurant in all of Missoula. It's like a hidden gem, tucked back into the Double Tree Hotel. This is the place you go when you want real food: steaks, salads, chops, mashed potatoes, greens and veggies cooked al dente. The presentation is great. Service is upbeat, reliable, attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere is great. In summer months eat out in the deck overlooking the river, in winter enjoy the same views from a cozy table or a seat at the granite counter top bar. Although I've never been, they also supposedly have a great brunch in both Saturdays and Sundays. You get all of this with chefs who are obviously trained in Continental cuisine, but without the high price tag of some other steak places in down town--and the food is better! As for the bar, the mixed drinks are delicious and a decent beer and wine selection. read more

Had dinner with 3 other people. Service was not good. Nice server but incredibly slow. Had to continually ask for everything. She was just not proactive. My drink was not what I ordered and was also not the second time. How difficult is it to make a vodka tonic!!!! Food was just ok. Location was in a hotel under construction so the overall ambiance was lacking... I'm sure it will change for the better once the construction is completed. Hopefully the restaurant will also have a separate entrance and you don't have to walk past the hotel rooms to get to it. read more

Definitely a favorite, so if they're ever on the menu, we will always order them. - Golden Beet Salad: so delicious! I had high hopes for Finn, but my experience was a complete letdown. I ordered the 6 oz filet, but what arrived couldn't have been more than 3 oz. For $45, that's beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, it wasn't even prepared as I had requested. I asked for medium, but what I received was a rare, raw and undercooked. When I brought the size of the steak up to the waiter, hoping for some resolution, he simply shrugged and said, "That's just how it is." The other people at the table had significantly larger steaks than mine. When you can't see the steak because the garnish is covering it, you know there is a problem. For the price and the lackluster service, this was a hugely disappointing experience. I won't be returning. read more

Two eighty year old women each ordered a turkey sandwich. The bread which if you picture the thickness of corn bread cut in half was probably 4 inches wide and 8 inches long and almost 2 inches thick. The turkey was that mushed up resliced turkey from Sysco that is tastless. The arugula on the sandwich was smothered with oil... I was told it was olive, but I'd never tasted that type of olive oil before and I get a fresh pressed shipment of 6 olive oil bottles twice a year. This in my opinion was not olive oil, but a type of seed oil that for health reasons I try to stay away from. It came with 3 cups of french fries.... on each plate. We bearly could eat any of it. I brought the huge amount of left overs home. Our husky wouldn't touch the turkey? huh that dog loves meat. (Plus, A smart waitress would have suggested to us to share that HUGE sandwich, but I guess the tip on 2 sandwichs took precedence.) We often chose Finn in the past, but no more ..... we will try any number of places suggested to us after we told dozens of our friends about this experience. This restaurant is located in the Double Tree hotel and it overlooks the river for a great dining experience... There's a classy vibe with a circle bar that's showcased in the middle of the restaurant. There's plenty of flat screens and I'm sure this would be a great place to watch a sporting event over some cocktails and a view of the river. This is a definitely a restaurant you can get dressed up for yet there were plenty of guests in casual wear and I'm assuming their hotel guests. Our server was very friendly and the kitchen got our dishes to the table quickly. Nice work... French Onion Soup: Absolutely delicious. The cheese was melted to perfection and the soup was extremely savory. Ribeye with cauliflower: The ribeye was generous in size and the cauliflower was plenty enough for a side. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare and made for a great evening. Asparagus: crispy, fresh and paired perfectly with my ribeye. Well this was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect of the Finn and the the overall ambiance, service and quality dishes would bring me back next time I'm in the area. read more

The staff and service at FINN are awesome. I definitely complement them on this as it is truly a class act. However, their eggs Benedict was a big miss. The eggs were cooked solid. I did an internet search, and Finn got good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. First, the bad, the pictures and maps don't tell you it is in the event center of a low-budget hotel/motel, and once you pull into the parking lot you are still lost because there is no sign. No sign at all; I got lucky because there was what appeared to be a wedding reception going on, so I followed the fancy people. Once you get inside, it is much nicer than the outside leads you to expect. There is a nice view of the river (I believe it's a river, the water was low but I would expect it to be beautiful in the spring with all the snow melt.) There is an outside area, but November in montana can be a bit brisk so I didn't try that. My server was great, she was patient and had a great attitude, and was able to give beer suggestions, so totally a win. I was in time for happy hour and got a couple dollars off the beer as well as a locally raised burger, which was very good. It came with pimento cheese, which I thought i would try. It might have been ok, but it had a LOT of pimento cheese on it. A bit of scraping, and all was ok. The fries, honestly, I will go there next time I am back for just the fries and a beer. All in all, it was a good experience, I will definitely go back again. GET A SIGN, and pimento cheese shouldn't be put on with an ice cream scoop would be my only suggestions. read more

Patio doesn't open until 11. We were the only ones trying to get seated there, and they made us wait until 1115. In the meantime, the bartender was bad at his job. The food was not bad, but they forgot the fennel in one of our meals. They brought out a side of it. Our server was good, a bright spot in a sub par experience. Food is fairly good but they are not at all ECO friendly. Take out boxes are cardboard but lined with plastic inside so neither recyclable or compostable. Asked for a piece of aluminum foil to take my left over pizza home and waitress came back in a flash and said she couldn't find any so had put my pizza in a box. I don't think she even looked. Many other restaurants in town have compostable take-out containers and I have never had anyone fail to bring a piece of aluminum foil. In this day and age, no excuse for not having recyclable/compostable take-out containers. And no aluminum foil, REALLY They also had the outdoor fires going full blast on the empty patio. Raining steadily so not likely anyone was going out there. Wasteful and bad for the environment. Won't be returning. read more
