Food was great -- service wasn't even in the room. Stopped in for nachos and some downtime. The appetizer came out quickly and tasted fantastic, so credit to the kitchen there. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Despite being the only customer in the place for nearly two hours, I was largely ignored. No greeting beyond a flat "no" when I asked about the game, no check-ins while eating (or drinking -- my water sat empty for almost 40 minutes), and when I put cash on the bar to pay, it stayed there in plain view for 25 minutes while the servers scrolled on their phones. The only person who acknowledged me was an older woman -- possibly the mother of my server -- who finally cashed me out and offered water after the bill was paid. Her effort was appreciated. If she had been my server from the beginning, this would be a very different review. I normally tip 30% without thinking twice. This time, I tipped based on presence -- and for most of my visit, there simply wasn't any. Great food deserves great service. Hopefully the right person reads this and makes that happen. read more

Previously called "The 44" (still even has a 44 on it's new sign and items on the menu with the number) but is now under new ownership. Some of the highlights of this location is the 25 beers on tap. Many locals from nearby parts of Montana (including Missoula, Helena, etc..) and some from out of state. Great prices for a pint glass ($4.50!) including a good selection of IPA and other varieties. Ask your waitress for their recommendation and you won't go wrong. Burger are a big highlight here and with some good options (1/2lb, 1/4lb, Elk, etc..) with some great toppings. Had the Black and Tan which included 2 1/4lb patties, beer battered onion rings with a beer drizzle, beer cheese and a stout & another beer(forgot) mix and match bun. Had it with beer battered fries as my side and was happy. My girl got the Breakfast burger which was a 1/2lb patty, 2 fried eggs, ham and bacon with choice of cheese and a hollandaise sauce(tasted more like a butter sauce but it was good nonetheless). They do offer regular plates and had good steak options and of course had a daily special. Friday is seafood night so the special will revolve around that but still will have steak as we saw the other night. Service was good, a hair slow but seeing as how they were packed it was an understandable delay. They do have a mini store off to the side which you can purchase additional beers (some not available on tap) and wish I had. It is located right next to the restrooms so it's hard to miss. Great place located off Highway 93 and a good stop for a butter and beer if that is what you're craving. read more

Perfect stop on the way to or from glacier. This is delicious, home style cooking. Filled us up for our camping trip and I absolutely loved the Montana vibe of the restaurant. OH My Goodness! Boy the reviewers that gave 5 stars wasnt wrong! After reading the reviews about this place being a little gem, and a must stop place, my husband I had to. We ordered the Mag French Dip and the Original burger. The French dip was to die for! It was flavorful, well seasoned and tender sheets of beef. The aus jus was extremely beefy flavor just as it should be. The burger was cooked to perfection and juicy. Trust me- you need not add cheese or any other condiment. We added only lettuce for the fresh crunch. The beef is Montana raised. You can't get any better than that. Our server was Rozzie and I made sure I told her Mike T. said hello. She gave a huge wave! She was very friendly and prompt. I told her to pick out a local brew for me and she brought me back to my surprise a very tasty smooth Honey Rye. The honey provided the smoothness not sweet. You must stop in and enjoy the natural laid back western feel of this place. Your lose if you don't. read more

This place was pretty good, but I certainly wouldn't give it 4 or 5 stars. The food was decent, service was pretty good, but nothing really stood out to me. We had a french dip and split it, they were nice enough to put it on 2 plates but it was pretty dry and the onions were small so they slid off the sandwich. Mom said they should have been grilled more because she didn't even think they were cooked enough. All in all, it was fine. I'll say I've not experienced much great food in this area so I'd say this is middle of the road. Perhaps other dishes are better. read more

Went here for lunch during an archaeological field school. The place is a cute bar and the wait staff was very friendly. I ordered the steak salad... WTF Montana do you not know there are different lettuces out there? I am not an ice berg fan. Makes my tongue and stomach cry. I need some arugula, radicchio, bib lettuce, spinach..... SOMETHING. Then, my steak was seared on the griddle after being sliced? What is that about? I just don't understand. But then again I am in the middle of no where Montana. I loved the service and they did have Angry Orchard on tap! Big Plus for that. I would go back if they had a gluten free bun for their burger because a friend had that and she said it was great! My girlfriend and I are traveling from California to Glacier NP and we were looking for a place to stop for lunch. We started yelping places in Columbia Falls but came across Post Creek ( must have been right as we were passing but we didnt notice it). After driving a few miles past it we decided to turn around and check it out. Breanna greeted us upon walking in and showed us to our table. She went over the menu with us and gave plenty of recommendations. Her energy and genuine personality alone made it a very enjoyable experience. As for the food, we ordered the wings ( I think they were called funny bones) with sweet potato fries, steak salad and smoke house ribs, all of which were delicious. My brother got the blackberry jalapeño burger and says it's the best burger he's had in North America! The service was wonderful. My family and I love to come here. Under new ownership for 2018 this place has done a complete turn around! Huge selection of local Montana beer, 25 as of this posting, plus mixed drinks for days! The steaks are amazing, but their whole menu has something for everyone. The steaks though...did I mention the steaks?! And their homemade steak butter? Excellent! Very nicely remodeled interior compared to what used to be here. Don't let the outside fool you! Plus, they have plans to give the outside a facelift. This place needs more reviews because it is a fantastic stop for food on a road trip. This was the only thing open past 10 so it was our only option for food. But WOW were we pleasantly surprised! The sirloin steak cooked medium was excellent. Adding mushrooms on top is a must. Also tried the tortellini and the dish was incredibly tasty. Even the bread was delicious. This place was AMAZING!!! Rozzie was our server and she was incredible. We started at the ninepipes restaurant and the service was so bad we came here and we are so glad we did. Both the host and our server went out of their way to make sure we were good and had what we wanted, our 2 year old daughter got out of her seat and our server Rozzie was so sweet with her and it was so obvious she cared about us and her other customers. We were so blessed with the service here we will definitely be back and we hope to have the same server we did this time!
