I have never been disappointed by a Chicken Express. I will always find one when I visit Texas. My food was great, hot, & great portions. Fried okra was perfect. BEST sweet tea in Texas. Staff understood I was going to eat my meal there, then take some back to camp. When I gave her the go she made my second order. I hit the place just after the noon rush, so many tables were need of attention. Staff tried to keep coming out to clean. Over all building was clean. read more

Clean store and friendly service. Chicken Express is our go to for great fried chicken as well as strips. The fried okra is the bomb!

We eat at the 42nd street location at least once a week. Always clean and great service. Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection.

I've eaten here several times as it has become my favorite place to go for fried chicken in Odessa. There are several other national brand restaurants in town and I've tried them all. I always order the tenders and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. read more

7-piece tenders had 4 tenders in it, gravy was very thin, watery, and flavorless. Fries not on-par with most other fast-food places. The food quality is no where near that of Bush's Chicken. Second time to try this place, food quality was the same the first time. I won't be going back. read more

This is for the Chicken Express on 42nd Street, before this one was built we ate at 8th street Chicken Express, their food is awesome, can't say the same about new Chicken Express on 42nd., their chicken strips were dark brown overcooked dry, hard, wife got green beans, once opened, there was 1/4 green beans in little cup. The Iced tea was old tasting, if you want great chicken avoid Chicken Express on 42nd, go to 8th Street Chicken Express, their chicken and food is great, they know how to cook fried chicken. read more

We are not from the West Texas area and have been very shell chocked at the not so warming welcomes we have gotten while being. We are from a small town where a smile is a form of hello. You always hold the door open for someone (male or female) just as courtesy. And you always say yes ma`am, no ma`am, yes sir, nor sir and thank you and your welcomes are a must. A few months ago I stumbled across the Chicken Express on 8th street. I walked in looking around trying to get a sense of the atmosphere there. I was immediately greeted with a vary warm and sincere hello and im glad you stopped by today how can I help you today. WHOAAAA! this brought an instant smile to my heart. finally a business that apricated me and my business. Even as I sat (alone) eating the same woman (Heather, long blonde haired lady) came over to my table to make sure I was satisfied with my meal and if there was anything else I needed. My husband owns a small trucking business and we will be here for a good while. You will always have my business and my companies business no matter how out of the way you may be. Today 4.13.19 my second visit this time with my husband was nothin less than expected. Same girl Heather (I'm pretty sure that's her name) and her staff gave the same great service. We have eaten here before so we thought it would be a great way to celebrate a graduation lunch with our family from out of town. We went on Sunday around 1:30. We ordered several items ($100.00+ Worth) . They prepared it in a decent amount of time. When we got to the party the order was all wrong! They gave up the wrong chicken. I heard about the hype on this place and decided to one day check it out. I was at the drive thru and saw the employees preparing the meals in to-go boxes with her hands using no gloves. Then one of them proceeded to check me out, again no hand washing. I told her no thank you. I cannot believe she handles money and change and prepares the food with her bare hands. One week later my coworker stated she got really sick after eating there. Definitely will not be going back or recommend anybody to eat there. read more

I also had a bad experience at this restaurant. Not once but three times they got my order wrong. Bunch of kids working there that obviously don't care to be there or do a good job. The girl working the window was too busy flirting with one of the guys that was working there. I had to tell her 3 times what I wanted and she still got it wrong. I seriously thought I was going to have to back there and make it myself. Jesus, you order by number off the menu so you think they could get it right.
