We absolutely love Chicken Lisa's and have been coming here since moving to the area in 2024. Most of the time, the food is exceptional, and the employees are always fabulous. Everyone is genuinely kind and welcoming, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. That warm customer service alone keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, the carne asada nachos missed the mark on our most recent visit. We appreciated that they use shredded cheese rather than nacho cheese, but after only about 8 minutes (when we opened the container to enjoy our nachos), the chips were chewy and tasted stale. The nachos were also fairly lackluster and could have used more toppings. It may have been the chips themselves being actually stale, or the foil container trapping too much heat and moisture. We will absolutely return because we love the staff and have had so many great meals here. We just hope they freshen up the chips or reconsider the packaging for items that can quickly become soggy. read more

I don't want to leave a great review as they deserve because it's my neighborhood spot. Like no crowds. I just discovered it. I will, Frankie's bar is awesome. Reminds me of a slice of pub in New York City. When New York City was worth noting. Huge screen TVs. I don't call it a sports bar. That can have a negative "man cave" impression. Yesterday, we watched the new Frankenstein film. It was awesome to not watch sports all over the room. However, women's sports was on the other TV. I could watch both. I was in heaven. The beer options are great. It seems every place promotes hazy beers. They have it too. Great wine options. While at the bar I order Lisa's delicious tacos. Staff are the best. Their Chicken and sides are delicious and are LARGE PORTIONS! We usually have food to take home for another meal. I especially love the Chicken Lisa's tostado Salad, served with lots of fresh tortillas chips! It is big enough for my husband and I to share! Their service is VERY FAST!! read more

We visit the bar attached about every two weeks. It's our go-to for a drink and Chicken Lisa tacos. The chicken tacos are good and could maybe use a little more seasoning but still very good. This wonderful little hole in the wall watering hole is just the kind of place every neighborhood needs. The demographic is vast, with younger folks, mixed with old timers, locals and everyone in between. Beer selection is just fine, with several IPAs on tap. Bar service comes from a couple of great young fellows and an occasional part time gal. All are super friendly and do a fantastic job. Frankie's is our new go to spot. Chicken Lisa is in the same building and offers delicious food while you're enjoying this bar. Frankies is a small friendly neighborhood bar that offers big screens for all sports and a wonderful atmosphere! The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome and not like it's just their job to do so. I highly recommend both places. Several beers on tap at Frankie's from light, ipa, dark and specialty as well as some seltzers and classic bottled beers. The place is clean. Not dark like most bars and overall is just a comfortable location and safe feeling place to enjoy your favorite beer and great food, both at wonderful prices. AMAZING ! I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu . On this trip we had the chicken fajitas. rice and beans It's so good . Lots of veggies in the fajitas. Beans taste good . Nice and clean . The rice is fluffy and full of flavour . Comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas. The green salsa with the chicken was the best . The pickled onions are great . My boyfriend and I shared the fajita plate and it was more than enough . The prices are reasonable as well . read more

Frankie's has been a GREAT addition to Chicken Lisa's. For those unfamiliar, they share and entrance (and ownership) and whereas Chicken Lisa's is more of the "restaurant" area, all you gotta do is cross over into Frankie's for the "bar" area. It's got a cool setup, a nice long bar with drinks on display and faux exposed brick. There's also added seating along the far wall if you don't want to cozy up to the bar. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and after a few visits you'll be on a first name basis. Only beer and wine are available, nothing stiff, but it's a great selection for what they do carry. This place is one of the best kept secrets in Escondido, and although I wish them financial success, I kinda hope it stays that way. read more

Escondido needs more places like this! I am pleasantly surprised how Frankie's (inside of chicken Lisa's) seemed to pop up out of thin air with such good results. The atmosphere is great, they have a decent selection of taps, wine, and you can order food from the restaurant. I would consider this to be more of a bar in itself than an add-on to the restaurant, which is what I was hoping it would be. I've talked with both bartenders, and they're hoping to include a bar menu as well (please get some chicken wings). I will be here often. read more

Ambience is cool, you have a few TVs, comfortable seating, music you can hear and good selection (David Bowie Station) on Pandora. Drink prices are reasonable and chips and salsa is a plus. I go here every weekend cause... The food and service is always great. Any item on the menu is delicious, and I've tried them all. Other regulars are friendly and chatty, which is nice. They're decent looking, just not as good looking as me. The bartenders are awesome and do a great job. They all have very different personalities too, so it's fun talking to them. Recently, Amanda has been back. She was always my favorite bartender. You can tell she is an experienced bartender because even when it's packed, she is keeping an eye on the entire bar. My glass has never gone empty while she works. When your glass gets low, she will ask if you would like another beer. All the bartenders do this, but she is always on point. So yeah, amazing service all around for all the bartenders. read more
