I tried out this spot a few Fridays ago, figuring it would be a good way to get a sense of the neighborhood. Well, it sure was! This is strictly a jeans-and-sweatshirt kinda spot, and when you open the door, everyone will look at you and know you're not a local. That's ok, though, because they're not mean about it. I cannot count the number of times I heard, "How 'bout them Bengals?" while sitting up at the counter and chatting with Ross, the friendly tapster. The beer was reasonably priced, and the atmosphere decidedly local and chummy. I didn't order any food, but it looked fantastic. Good burgers. Mediocre chicken. But super friendly staff with great service. Good local dive that is worth looking into. Definitely going to consider being a regular for our neighborhood. Lots of TVs for games and sports. Family friendly and SUPER good prices. $3 for a burger!? Sign me up! read more

Another on my list of great Deer Park joints! Always a great time at the Chicken. The regulars are awesome....always great people to watch a game with and drink a few cold ones. The food is awesome! Wings always hit the spot, but I would suggest you try my favorite dish, The Gregor Club! read more

This is a great neighborhood bar to check out. There wings are good and their whole menu is solid bar food. Try the fire fries.

Nice neighborhood spot...it is what it is. Locals, good bar food, and good priced beers.

Food was not good..at all. Best thing was the beer. Our waitress was MIA and took over 10 minutes to even get to our table and over 20 minutes to get our check. Never asked how the food was or of we needed anything else. I highly doubt we will be back. Not impressed. read more

Have been going to the Chicken for over 40 yrs! The Chickens food was delicious & made with care back when Ross was owner. Went a couple of times just recently to eat the food (one was carry out ) & the food was so bad I threw the carry out order in the garbage & have not been back since & never will again. The new owner has never spoken a greeting of Hello when my husband & I walk into the Chicken???? Never to Return! read more

Went for the second time last night. First time was in the summer. My boyfriend introduced me to them. HE warned me that it takes awhile but the food was good and cheap. He was right. I made a vow after the first trip that I would only order takeout and not wait forever the next time. Well I took my coworker... and could kick myself for not doing what I said. They were busy in the back rooms but it makes no sense how completely rude and unprofessional the staff are. I honestly asked my friend... do you think this place is one of those places that purposely are rude as part of their Schtick? Literally not acknowledged for over ten minutes. I think that possibly it is all family with no background in customer service or they just do not care. Our food was delicious. The prices are fair.. but it is the service staff who stand right in front of you talking amongst themselves and laughing at how rude they are to customer's that blows your mind. We sat there with our boxes of food after the meal and she said I will be right there with the check and watched our server talk to the bartender while she washed glasses with her boobs hanging out for five minutes about how rude she was to a different customer then walk away and still no check.. so after another five minutes I went to the bar to try to pay she then came over to the table and asked if we wanted a bag for our leftovers and to go orders and we said no. Who would have another half hour to wait? If you want to try it out Call ahead or eat at home the staff REALLY doesn't care how they talk to you... or serve you. read more

Terrible service. Waited for 20 minutes for someone to come to our table, but no one ever did, so we left and ate somewhere else.

Terrible service and food is subpar, each time I have visited the wait is over 20 minutes and they appear to be understaffed. It's very close to me so I have given it plenty of chances and won't be going back. read more

Super disappointed tonight. Been coming for years and brought my son tonight while my wife Christmas shopped with our other boys. Not overly busy considering we got a parking spot directly in front and there were plenty of open tables. Sat in the side room. 15 minutes after getting there I had to get up and tell a server we were there and no one had helped us. 10 minutes later the owner comes in and asks the other family in the same size room if they could move because they had a party arriving for the room. I overheard A few people from the party say they were upset bc they called a couple weeks ago and were told no reservation could be taken. So the owner found out this info just tonight. It's not like he had prior knowledge and the room set up in Advance or anything indicating there was a party arriving. Our server comes in while this is happening and asks me what we would like to drink... I ask if we are going to have to move... She turns around and asked the owner. He says yes because of the party. She was kind enough, after we waited 25 minutes, to tell him we were there first. She then turns and says she will go ahead and take our order and figure out the seating situation once the party arrives. I asked her if we were going to have to move and she didn't know. I told her we were just going to leave if that was the case and that's exactly what I did. The owner didn't apologize because he was too busy trying to accommodate the other guest who arrived nearly 30 minutes after my son and I. Ross wouldn't have treated us this way.... Disappointed and I doubt I will be back for quite some time. read more

A classic neighborhood restaurant and bar. The food is good and the servings will not eave you hungry. The price for the beer and food was reasonable and the service was great. it is a long time hang out for many of the locals but we were treated very well and the crowd was friendly.
