We have eaten here so many times and had a great experience but today was not it. My husband really wanted the burger of the month which apparently isn't available at brunch despite none of their promotional information specifying that so that was the first disappointment. We decided we didn't want drinks today and normally we do order alcohol, so not sure if we were being ignored more for that reason? We were very unclear who was serving us as two or three people asked if we wanted drinks and then we saw hardly anyone after we said no. Our food took 45 minutes to be served with no updates from a server or apologies for the wait, despite other tables (who came in after us) around us being apologized to and getting food before us. My breakfast poutine was also sub-par today, the egg was forgotten and brought out several minutes later, overcooked and rubbery. Normally we have a great experience here but today just really missed. We would have been more understanding if there were an ounce of communication but if our food had arrived 5 minutes later we would have left before it arrived (we just had waters at that point since we did a lot of drinking for the holiday last night). Will be interested to see if our experience stays consistent in future visits. And I really hope our experience wasn't just because we opted out of bar drinks today. read more

I had been here before for a drink and dinner and loved the vibes. It's much bigger on the inside than would appear and they have a second floor as well. Came here for their Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint! Brunch doesn't start until 11am on Sunday and we arrived around 1140 and got a table for 2 without any wait! The hostess and our waitress were friendly and attentive. Started with a stacked Bloody Mary which had a slider, bacon, and a chicken wing! The bloody itself was tasty, though I prefer mine to be a little spicier. We got the Hawt Mess and Breakfast Poutine and both were delicious. The over easy egg on the poutine was perfectly cooked and the smashed potatoes in the Hawt Mess were crispy and flavorful. We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the brunch menu! read more

Went here for drinks and to grab a small bite of food. The poutine fries were amazing, no complaints. The drinks... tasted good, but definitely were overcharging for their light pours. Service was terrible; had to track down the waitress countless times every step of the way to order more drinks, and to even get the bill. Get the buffalo wings their killer I got the poutine fries my friend got the breakfast burrito and then my other friend got the breakfast sandwich. Everything looked great and was warm and tasty. I get there at I get there at 11:55 in hopes to get the Coney fried burrito thing and they say they have brunch until three. Any normal person or restaurant would understand that brunch is not a thing after noon. I've been wait for 45 minutes on my food for just breakfast eggs and potatoes should never take that long and there was not many people in there then I watched multiple tables get served before me after they came in 20 minutes after me, my hungry ass came for the Skyline burrito and left with the filled stomach of poutine Fries. My favorite thing about this restaurant is their monthly special, which is always able to be made both vegan or vegetarian. Every month I go try the vegan special with my friends and it has honestly become one of our little traditions. I do wish it was gluten free more often, but when it is not I get the gluten free frickles, which are fried pickle chips you can get with regular or vegan ranch. This place is wonderful for accommodations. They clearly label vegan and gluten free options all throughout the menu, which makes ordering so much easier when you are the one in the friend group checking ingredients all the time like I do. They also have a full bar with a long list of fun drinks. Seating is pretty good. I have only struggled to find seating once, and it was on a really nice day when we wanted to sit outside. They have large tables in the back for big groups and an upstairs area too. In addition to going for the specials, I have come here just to hang out for a bar night. Upstairs they have a pool table and it is a great place to catch up with friends because it is not too chaotic and you can actually hear each other talk. The decor is very aesthetic and cute with lots of little knickknacks and trinkets around the space. Overall I love this place and it is one of my favorite spots to bring friends when we want something vegan friendly and cozy. The only problem I have ever had getting the vegan special was one time they were out of it. It was pretty late in the month so that was probably why, but it was still disappointing to get all the way there and not be able to order it. Ummm... so embarrassed to say I've been sleeping on this spot that is 10 minutes from home. Yes, I know about it, yes, I drive by it A LOT. No more! Headed here with my bestie on a busy Friday night. It's a great spot for burgers and friend food and a great cocktail offering- most deliciously, the pickle martini (gin for me) that is perfectly balanced. We couldn't decide so we shared fried pickles, potato salad, wings, fries, and a delicious burger, no bun. Everything was tasty and portions were generous. Bonus for us: a well marked menu with GF items. As I said, it was busy but they have a system and get people seated as quickly as possible. Our server was amazing with recommendations and service. We went for Sunday brunch. An awesome ambiance - fun, quirky, down to earth. We sat outside and there was plenty of shade with umbrellas on every table in the courtyard. It was normal noise volume. I had a coffee which came in a unique mug. The Bloody Mary's looked excellent. The food is great and greasy. The egg sandwich (no meat) was nicely toasted English muffin that gave some crunch and the potatoes were fried. It's a meal meant for day drinking. read more

Stopped here as it's a DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. It's by Spring Grove Cemetery Arboretum which allowed us to visit there as well. The Yacht Club has a lovely outdoor eating area as well as an eclectic bar area inside. Let's talk about the smash burgers. We try a lot of new places and this has to be one of the best burgers I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. Fries are average. The Mac and cheese is superbly delicious. Service could have been slightly better as it was hard to get the attention of our waitress when we needed. But overall, I will be eating here again so I can try other items. read more

I had such a fun night here! My friends and I came on a Tuesday for their trivia night, and also to try the seasonal "Chilichanga." Parking is a bit stressful for those unfamiliar with the area, like me, as it is only street parking on very narrow streets next to a busy road. I guess don't bring your biggest vehicle if possible. We sat at a large bench table in the back, next to a wall full of the most interesting and hilarious knock-knacks. The place has a very eclectic and young vibe. I loved it. Everyone at the table got the chilichanga, as that was why we came and it was so hyped up to me. I got the vegetarian version, and that didn't disappoint. It came out hot, gooey, and so flavorful. They really got that chili flavor down. I thought I was only eat half, as it looks like so much, but I couldn't stop myself from finishing it. I also got the fried broccoli as my side and it was totally worth the upcharge. So crunchy and addicting. I will be trying to recreate that at home. Prices are standard compared to similar places in Cincinnati. I'd love to come back to try more food and more fun beverages from their large and diverse cocktail menu. Everyone got a different drink during our evening all raved about it. Highly recommend for a great dinner and fun evening! read more

So I saw I post for their monthly special on social media and haddd to come try them out. The monthly special was a steak sandwich that had steak strips and cheese and sauces all over. When I went and ordered they brought out a Philly steak sandwich and so I double checked to make sure this was the special and they said yes which is when I was really confused. The fries weren't bad but I was pretty disappointed that what was advertised is not what I received especially when I am paying $18 for it. Went there after a local 5k. Had the killer tofu and the Arnold Palmer. The killer tofu lived up to its name. Well seasoned and delicious. This is coming from someone who is not vegetarian. If you haven't tried Northside Yacht Club you are missing out. This month they have their deep fried Cheese coney, but you can never go wrong with their double smash burger. We also had the fried pickles and they are probably the best we ever had. The pickle was crispy and the breading was perfect. Their fresh cut fries are delicious. They know how to rinse and dry the potatoes before cooking them, so they are crispy on the outside. The service was great and the vibe is very laid back. The only downside is the restaurant is very dimly lit. Which makes it rough when you're visually impaired. I have been vegetarian for a decade, and this place had the best "fake" meat I have ever had. The menu had so many vegan and vegetarian options that it was difficult to choose what to get. I ended up just going with the veggie burger. Oh my gosh, it was phenomenal. I couldn't believe how good it was. The cheese had so much flavor. The pickles were thick and crisp. And the bun was perfectly pillowy, while holding everything together. My boyfriend got a regular burger and loved it. We also got the pickles for an appetizer. My boyfriend thought they were too salty, but I really enjoyed them. I thought the saltiness came from the brine flavor. I got two drinks and both were great! The mixed pineapple margarita and the blasted Baja! I loved this place so much I wish I was going back again today before leaving town. Only negative is that the downstairs was so cool! But then they took us upstairs to sit, which had a far less cool ambiance. The real kicker though is that it was freezing cold upstairs. I mean it was freezing. It was as cold upstairs as it was outside. I was basically shivering all dinner and the people next to us had their down coats on all dinner. Northside Yacht Club is usually a solid spot, but this last visit missed the mark for us. We decided to dine in, and honestly, it wasn't the best experience. The food took way too long to come out (and it wasn't even busy), and when it finally did, it was cold. We actually had to send it back--which they handled politely and replaced--but still, not a great first impression that night. The vibe inside is very dark, almost too dark for me. I get it--it's a bar--but it gave more "neighborhood dive" than "let's hang out and chill." They do mix things up with their rotating menu and meal-of-the-month specials, which can sometimes be a hit, but just as often a miss. The staff was cool, but nothing that really stood out. And honestly, for the prices, I expected more consistency and better quality. It kind of feels like they've fallen off a bit compared to how they used to be. All in all, I'd give them a 3/5. Generous, but fair. Not my favorite anymore, and probably not somewhere I'll rush back to. You might like it, but for me, it just didn't hit. read more

Recently I had the Birria grilled cheese and it was ridiculously good. My guess is anything you order is going to be delicious here. The drinks this time were a little weak to be honest, but I think the next time I would just get something on the rocks versus one of their specialty drinks... it's possible it was just who was making the drinks that night but there's no way I could drink as many as I ordered if they had been made with the correct amount of alcohol, but I still recommend this place highly it's a fun hang. Good food and great drinks! We stopped in for lunch recently because of its proximity to Spring Grove while making arrangements. We were pleasantly surprised at how great the drinks were and how yummy the food tasted. We both ordered the Double Smash burger and it was awesome! It was served with fries that were pretty good too. I ordered the Islay Manhattan and my husband had a beer. My cocktail was great! And my husband was happy to find a German beer on the menu that he doesn't find often. We sat on the back patio and it was a beautiful day for it - so it was a really enjoyable lunch. I was on a work trip from Michigan and we ended up coming here twice. Once on the first night and then again on our 4th and final night in the city. Dim lighting, good service and food. I adore a place that takes its food seriously without taking itself seriously. This is exactly that kind of spot. I was drawn in by a monthly special promising an elevated beef n' cheddar with curly fries. I admit, I wasn't wowed. The fries were amazing, but the sandwich itself lacked flavor and the accompanying jamocha shake was icy instead of creamy. However, my daughter's tofu poutine was out of this world! Veg gravy that savory- yes please! My conclusion is that I need to try all the great things on the regular menu my next visit. NSYC is one of my go-to spots, so I can't believe I haven't left a review yet!. The menu isn't huge, but it has a lot of tried and true dishes. The boyfriend especially likes the burger. Smashed would be thy style and greasy are the fingers that hold thee burger. I'm a fan of the Mac n cheese and the Tijuana Caesar salad that comes with the soft boiled egg. Yum! The brunch is solid. Try out the Bloody Mary! It's a meal in itself! One of our favorite things are the monthly specials (and the Instagram stories that accompany them). From the deep fried coneys, to the nihilistic Arby's sandwich to the Cubano.... If there's a special, we're trying it. My FAVORITE thing I've had there is the deep fried lasagna. Bartenders and servers are friendly and want you to have a good experience, but I think they also don't take themselves too seriously. It's a fun place in a way that not many other restaurants can match. We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday and were given our choice of seating. After snagging a table near the (modern, electronic) jukebox where we could admire the aquarium fish on the wall of tv monitors, we ordered drinks, wings, poutine, and one of the day's specials, a shrimp roll. The drinks were great. I enjoyed my perfectly executed Paloma and my husband had a Baja Blasted made with Mountain Dew and vodka that was surprisingly delicious. The food was excellent as well. Wings were crispy and the habanero sauce had a nice kick without being overwhelming. The poutine was great and big enough that we took half home for dinner that night. My shrimp roll had a generous amount of shrimp (though I could have gone for some more Old Bay!). The sleeper hit was the fried broccoli side.
