I do not understand the high star reviews. This place is..."acceptable," at best. Yes, it's clean, and the staff is friendly. But the food is "meh." I've had much better chicken salad at grocery store delis! Here, it is bland. The sides are equally average. The "grape salad" is weird - more like a strange dessert. The "broccoli salad" is almost tasteless. I had the "jalapeno holly" chicken salad (or whatever). I detected no seasonings - just chopped up peppers. And I love spicy stuff. Regardless, I tried it once, and done. $16 for one scoop, two small sides, and a large drink. (They toss in a small cookie, a few crackers, and a pickle - which had an odd flavor.) Nope. read more

My spouse had errands today in Johnson City so stopped by to grab our lunch. We both ordered the Classic Carol sandwich with lettuce and tomato. I had the fresh fruit side dish and my spouse had the fruit salad which was mixed with yogurt. Both meals came with a dill pickle and a prepackaged cookie. Everything was well made and delicious. I would try some of their other options as well. read more

I got the olivia's chicken salad and the egg salad. IM not sure how they can justify $7 for each let alone the egg salad. The egg salad- the eggs were over-boiled, not chopped up well and wayyy overdone with mustard. The chicken salad was just ok, nothing amazing. The Apple Cake Tea Room in Knoxville has amazing chicken salad. Within 45 minutes I was sick to my stomach throwing up. Won't come back. read more

If you love chicken salad this is the place for you! The restaurant was very clean. It has a very nice atmosphere and is nicely decorated. Ordering is easy, the only struggle you might have is trying to make up your mind as to which chicken salad you're going to try. I got the fruity Fran chicken salad on a croissant which comes with a pickle spear and pasta salad and I even got a cookie. Fountain drinks are plentiful, with unlimited refills. For being a national franchise, they must treat their employees well. Everyone had a smile on their face and was very pleasant throughout the entire dining experience. It was OK. Kinda loud and bland for me. In fairness, I don't think I'm really in the target demographic which seems to be women driving enormous SUVs and carrying purses almost as large. They seemed to enjoy the fare and the environment more than I did. Pros: they're prompt, the portions weren't too small, and it's a clean well lighted place. Cons: not a lot of flavor. So good! Although, I thought when you purchased "The Chick" with the sandwich that it automatically comes with Lettuce & Tomato. When I went through the drive through, nobody asked me about it so I assumed it was on there. It was my surprise when I got home & there was none on my sandwich. I visit a friend in Johnson City quite often and I will stop at this location to get her a turkey club sandwich. I will eat the Fancy Nancy chicken salad and it's usually pretty good, not over-the-top, good but good, I feel the prices are a little on the expensive side. I normally do not have any issues with my order being correct, however, I was there yesterday to pick up an order and they had put bacon from the club sandwich on the chicken salad sandwich, there was an overload of honey mustard on the turkey club that was spilling over on the sides of the bread and the side for the turkey club was in the plate with the chicken salad. I checked my receipt and the girl had rang the order in correctly so it was it was mixed up in the kitchen. I was glad I had checked in the parking lot to make sure the order was correct, when I went in to get it corrected, the girl who had taken my order was very friendly, but the kitchen staff was not very happy about re-doing the order. The food was fine--not great, not inedible, but just fine. Salad fixings were cheap and uninteresting. Chicken salad (regular, plain) tasted only okay. I went a second time and got the spicier version--it tasted the same: boring, like typical refrigerated chicken salad, and not spicy. The staff was stellar. Nothing disparaging could be said about them. Just lovely people. The pricing was surprisingly high. I compared to similar restaurants and found the amount received for the price paid was a poor value. The patio looked out onto a parking lot and a 5 lane street. If you sit outside, you can enjoy the smog from the idling cars in the drive thru to the immediate left of you and the loud trucks ahead jockeying for parking spots. Not a green thing in site, just concrete. The shear amount of garbage I received was impressive. Seems like this company is trying to overflow our local landfill all by itself. Nothing was recyclable, the trash items were enormous and not compactable, and no items were compostable. This reason alone turns me off ever eating here again. read more

I had the one with the fugi apples and grapes, etc. Really good. Don't remember all the cutesy names but would add to the experience of a bunch of ladies who lunch. The pasta salad was good also. The servers were friendly and when my mother misunderstood and messed w our order they fixed it carefully and politely. The place was full and nice with clean decor. The only thing that needs work in my opinion is the janky cookie they gave out in the cellophane w the meal. Delicious chicken salad, any of the choices. Only four stars because of one odd thing. There are only five tables out on the patio and as this is a very popular place, one of their employees was taking up an outside table. There were several guests looking at her, I'm sure wondering why that was allowed. The girl behind the counter told me there was no where else for her to eat. I feel like the employees should eat inside so their customers can enjoy what they pay for in the nicer weather. read more
