I had the quiche which was excellent and a side of potato salad. Wife had chicken salad on croissant with tomato bisque soup. And I took an individual carrot cake to go. Personally, the chicken salad, potato salad and carrot cake while fresh and well made weren't our favorites. The chicken salad was the simple version and we prefer the versions that includes onions, celery and grapes. I'm probably too picky about potato salad. This was better than store bought, just nothing to write home about. The Carrot cake was excellent. It would have been even better if there were raisins in it. The service is great. They have the best quiche I've ever had. Their soup beans and cornbread are also good. They usually have cake and it is phenomenal.I love eating there. I have overlooked this place. Upon arriving the sign requested to wait to be seated. We stood there in awkward confusion waiting on the waitress to seat us. Instead she went behind the counter and asked how she could help us. Hello? We want to eat?!? I had to go to the counter to get menus. We seated ourselves. After reading the menu and the chalkboard we decided on what we would like to order. The original lady NEVER came back to help us. I had to go to the counter to place my order. We ordered the 4 cheese Quiche with tomato soup, the mushroom quiche with chicken lasagna soup and water with lemon and sweet tea. The food was out of this world. So because of the lack of service I rate four stars. This place could five star plus with properly trained employees. read more

After 5 years of living here, I just recently discovered this place and I am kicking myself that I didn't try it when I first moved. I am one of those people that if I don't eat a salad every day, I just don't feel right. This place is salad heaven. Not only do they have a garden salad, but they have a selection of prepared salads. The best part is I can eat an Oriental noodle salad and still feel healthy because its a salad. The red wine vinaigrette is my favorite dressing and I live the cranberries on their garden salad. They are like a little sweet treat. Rachel is a doll and I love all her costumes. It's great when you see a small business where the employees have fun. That energy transfers to the customers. Hm. Now I am in the mood for a salad. read more

I've been here well over a dozen times. They are a solid 4 in food, environment, and service. This is a deli. You order at the counter. Table service is swift and not really a format of this type of place. If you want something, let it be known. I've tried many sandwiches, but didn't find them to be great. Tuna salad, chicken salad seem to be the best. I prefer the quiches, which are all pretty tasty. The salads are fine. I'm picky about salads--theirs don't have a variety of greens and vegetables, and aren't very big, but they are always good enough. A quiche/salad combo is the best way to go. I had an issue with cleanliness for a while, but during the pandemic they have scoured the place. I'm pretty happy with this now. They've updated some furnishings, looks nice. They really have tried hard to welcome me and make me feel at home there. I've received cold soup, missed forks, had long waits, but I've worked in a similar type of restaurant so I understand and just ask for things to get rectified. They've been pretty great at doing this. And sometimes the service is simply stellar. I would recommend this place. Just know that it is run by real people who aren't perfect. They do seem genuine, not possessing a fake customer service personality. Prices are pretty average for this type of restaurant, though the servings do seem a bit smaller than expected. The fact that they support local artists and change out their art work thru out the year makes it even more enjoyable. Stopped in at roughly 45 minutes before close. I walked into an empty restaurant but then again it was the late afternoon at roughly 315 pm. I found Cranberries via Yelp. The reviews were good so I thought to give it a whirl. I was greeted by a woman whom I suspect is the owner. Tables were scattered about adorned with bright goldenrod picnic tableclothes. Menu was a chalkboard that listed all possibilities. I checked in and as a result was given a $1.00 off the Super Salad during my visit. I decided to go for it. I ordered the Super Salad. I selected chicken salad with two sides. I asked for the tomato bisque soup and an oriental salad along with Raspberry unsweet tea. My unsweet tea was delicious and came with a small pitcher to refill my glass. My meal arrived and the tomato bisque appears lumpy and thick. It was okay but not what I expected and not delicious. The oriental salad that I was told was all the rage was soggy and had pieces of uncooked Ramen in it. However the chicken salad was truly delicious. It's not a place I would dine at again but I was grateful for a homemade meal and friendly staff. read more

Wished I had not tipped prior to receiving my order. I would not have done so because they did not earn the tip. We both ordered the Super salad and teas. The tea machine was new and they couldn't work it. We waited and were not offered anything else. Had to ask for water. Other people were getting water that had ordered after us. Our order was extremely slow coming out. We had cold salads that only needed to be plated. Others were offered tea after they figured the machine out and some even got free dessert. Today was my first visit to Cranberries! I drove past it yesterday on my lunch break and was immediately intrigued. So I stopped in today. The woman upfront was really nice and welcoming. Thick and creamy and so full of blue cheese it won't pour ...you have to fork it on. Sadly the coffee was a let down. Weak and bland and generic. Too bad. It's charming as all get out AND they have WiFi! I had the cobb salad with their house made raspberry vinaigrette and everything was scrumptious (I subbed feta for the bleu cheese they offer because let's face it...a little bleu goes a long way.). I think the thing that sealed the low rating was when the shops owner brought us boiling hot water (to warm up a bottle) and spilled some of it on me and my 2 year old. I get that accidents happen but I expected a pretty serious apology or that we'd get our meal for free or something. The salad hasn't seemed to be the choicest greens and for lettuce they don't seem to give you much. The unsweetened tea is always good. Unlike the other reviewers I really love the Oriental Salad that has the soggy ramen. It's one of my favorites. The Super Salad is a little pricey BUT I feel it's a decent value although,again, I feel like they've reduced the portions. The past few times I've gone it hasn't been consistently amazing all around but ill come back on occasion. Loved going to Cranberries the last four years I've lived in JC. Placed a catering order a month before an ETSU graduation, and the shop was closed the day of. This place is really good, the quiches are AMAZING! I've had the four cheese and the vege quiche and they are both delicious, not to mention the tomato bisque and the the French onion soup are both really good too.
