Now renamed Chicken Shack. This restaurant has been operating for 3 years. We were exploring the area and stopped for lunch recently on a Sunday afternoon. This is a very large venue that seems to be very popular for locals and events. We ordered their chicken (of course) and sides of fried okra and baked beans. Our fried okra was a bit over cooked but still edible. The beans were yummy as was the chicken! The chicken was freshly fried, crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. The ambience is very casual and has a nice location across from a park which is under construction. Inside there are TVs and music under a kitschy decor. The only strong negative were the restrooms. The door on one did not close without a strong couple of tugs. They're VERY rustic. While I understand the 'vibe' being created in the restaurant as a whole, a good, private restroom space is always a plus. read more

Food: we ordered some broasted chickens - I believe it was the family meal. The food was okay but bland. Disclaimer: I prefer a lot of flavor and infusions for all of my food. The skin of the chicken was great but innards were dry. I have to say the sides we got with the family meal were almost untouched (baked beans, slaw) . The Mac and cheese was mushy. We liked the chips and queso appetizer. Service: our server was very polite and did a great job. She checked on us frequently, I wish I could remember her name (it was a Tuesday evening) because she really gave the whole experience a boosy! Ambiance: the concept of this place is really cool - a built out of lumber and shabby chic. There's some taxidermy inside and fans to help keep the place cool. Biggest concern: the water quality. I'm not sure that is lumber shack or the city of harrah...but the water tasted like straight chemicals. I ordered it with ice, also tried it without ice...still tasted bad. It could be that they need to clean and defrost their ice machines or have their soda machines cleaned and serviced (sodas also tasted like chemicals). read more

Friday dinner. Not packed. Ample seating and prompt welcome by a waitress. Wait staff was efficient and friendly but the chicken had a slight off taste. Oil was rancid or dirty...not enough to make it inedible, just enough to take it off the list for another visit. read more

Burger was delicious, like a good old house burger. Thick and juicy and seasoned. The fries were good too. So glad we beat the rush. Cuz it got packed and I guess they were short staffed because service was slow. I'm sure it's not normal practice and ppl need to teach their kids some damn hygiene but one of the softball teams was there to eat. The pop machine was out of ice. One of the players stuck her hand up the ice dispenser to attempt to get ice. I'm so glad I had my drink already. I will call and let them know what took place and hope they clean it. read more

Stopped by for a Togo order on a busy Saturday evening. Only took about 15 minutes to get my chicken. The chicken was excellent and so was the ff. Chicken was crispy even the skin and meat was moist, ff were crispy also. Chic legs were a little small but probably means they were not pumped full of growth hormones! read more

Nice rustic dining in old lumber yard. It's called the Chicken Shack. The chicken and sides were great. Staff were very nice. Friday night was catfish AYCE special. Sadly, catfish and breading were tasteless, and seemed like frozen, breaded fillets. I'll stick with chicken! read more

All wood place from ceiling to floor, so much larger than Luther location! Cool long long bar area. That's where I really wanted to be sitting but was with family..lol We ordered alot of food, which was quite a wait. So be patient, kids take games! A whole chicken and teriyaki wings all so good. Sides were potato wedges, okra and baked beans with jalapenos. So great meal! Fountain drinks were filled by a lady to the side where you order but when we needed refills , no one there. So not sure on that since ice was in a round chest. Got very crowded, we could of auctioned off our table with so many standing trying to find table... Lol They do have outdoor seating. Every Thursday they have a special on wings; 30 for 20. They can split the sauce decision as well. The bartender said they also have onion rings that are not on the menu yet, something about two other specials too, she just lost me at 30 wings for 20 dollars. :) It's been a long day at work and this place seemed like a good choice to wind down. I ordered a water, my boss ordered a margarita. I got the wings. He got the pork chops. The live entertainment tonight is pretty good. Altogether, this place is a nice surprise compared to what I was expecting. I'll update you on the wings situation in a bit. read more

I've been to this place several times. I've always had a good experience, but tonight was terrible. I ordered the whole chicken, and a half chicken. I also ordered a family side of okra. My sides that were included with the chicken meals were potato wedges, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. All of the food had a great flavor, as always, but everything, and I mean everything, was cold. The chicken was warm, but not hot, and everything else was ice cold. Not even warm. Not sure what the issue was tonight, but it was very disappointing, especially considering that I spent over $100. I'll be back, but I sure hope they do better next time. The service was fine. Not her fault, so she still deserved and received an appropriate tip. Rough night. read more

Wow, just wow. The husband and I discovered this gem. I ordered the special corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. It was almost embarrassing how amazing it was. Julie was our server, we followed a party of 17 in the doors and Julie never missed a beat. She was helpful, quick to suggest foods and drink specials. The outdoor area was amazing picnic style tables right in the middle of the building (an old lumber yard) which helps with the Oklahoma wind. The corned beef was possibly the best we've ever had. My husband went with the cheeseburger and fries (he ate it so fast I didn't get a chance to try it apparently it was perfect) I added the fried okra and it was all so delicious. This place is 40 minutes from home but we will be back. I can't say it loud enough oh my goodness GO THERE support local it was all so dang good I can't wait to go back. read more

I enjoy the the lumber shack. I especially like their pork chops. They're delicious! Also, they have good wings. I love the bourbon Sriracha sauce. Not that impressed with the fried chicken, I find it to be a little bit dry but I have family members that absolutely love it. it's nice to have a huge patio to hang out on in this area. There really isn't anything like that in this area. On Thursdays they have Singo and that's a lot of fun as well as a special on wings. The bathroom situation is just weird. They really need to do an overhaul and figure that out. Overall, I recommend it because I enjoy going and I do enjoy the food as well. Avoid the banana cake. It taste like banana Laffy taffy. They don't really have good dessert. Service has much improved since they first opened. It just seems to get better as time goes on. read more

The Lumber Shack is an awesome addition to downtown Harrah! The atmosphere is truly unique. I have been twice, and the food and service have been good both times. This is a great place for a meal with your family or even a large group. There is a lot of seating inside and outside, so don't let all the cars outside deter you from coming in. read more

We drove from Norman to try out the broasted chicken and didn't find any worms, tape or otherwise. What they do have, however, is horrible food. The chicken was burnt rather than broasted, and the banana cake was a dry disappointment. The pork chops were okay, but that's about it. Oh, and the bathroom situation is weird. read more

This place has a great feel to it but the service is terrible. The chicken is okay. Not the best I've had. We enjoy coming here due to the location, ambiance, and the lack of options in Harrah. So we decided to try the lumber shack today. Have heard good things about it. First thing I noticed was there was no signage tht I seen directing you there. Figured tht out and parked across the street. Entered and realized it was an order at the counter place which is ok unless it gets busy, which I understand it does. Order taken and self serve on the drinks. Two of the options were out. I ordered 2 broasted pork chops with cole slaw and wife ordered 3 chicken strips with mash potatoes and gravy. It took abt 15-20 minutes which was ok. Pork chops arrived in a French fry type basket with slaw in a styrofoam cup. Same with the chicken strips. Usually when you order something like tht you get chips but not in this case. Pork chops and 1side. Never had broasted pork chops and they were pretty good. Could have used a little more seasoning but not bad. Issue was plastic utensils which doesn't work well with pork chops so just used my fingers. My wife received 4 strips. Not sure if it was because of their size or not. She said they tasted like pork chops so can only assume they were cooked together. It was quite pricey for what we got. The place is an old lumber yard tht has been fixed up nicely. There is a full bar and the place is very large. Again I can see a line out the door on a busy night and you can't speed up broasted food so go early. On a safety issue the front door opens to a side street only a few feet away. There is no stop sign there so as we ate I watched cars zooming by. Need a stop sign or speed bump or something to slow the traffic down at the intersection. Reservations were made for Saturday (yep a busy day) for 20 to be seated outside. Had to call and change that head count to 40. We came in two groups twenty minutes apart. Bikers on a nice day so that's why the number increased from original reservation. They handled our huge group very well. Food came out fairly quickly and was very tasty. I had chicken strips and okra. Now the okra was a tad overcooked and too crispy. Other than that we had a good time with tasty food. Thank you Lumber Shack for getting the bigger group in. read more

The food was good and flavorful. The okra was crispy. It is neatly arranged in an old lumber mill. I was told that on Friday nights they have live music. They wait staff were friendly. I might go back to try other foods there. In my opinion the chicken was okay but nothing to brag about. My son had the pulled pork sandwich. He said that it was okay it needed more slaw. My husband had the Reuben and chips. He loved the house made chips and said that the sandwich was good. I'm not a fan of the slaw there. I will not order it again. read more

I have tried this place a couple of times, but definitely won't be back First the messed up my order by leaving my fries off. When I inquired they told me they'd check on it. Waited about 10 minutes and asked again, and the waitress was hateful and said she'd go check. This time she actually left and went somewhere. They have a buffet set up at certain times, such as Sunday afternoon and weekday lunches. When you order, you'll go to the counter. They write your name on a paper plate, and you take this to your table and place it in a holder. When your order is ready, they'll bring it out yo you. Their chicken us always freshly cooked, hot and juicy. If you're in the mood for adult beverages, they do feature a full bar. Lumber Shack is located in an old Lumber store and has a unique ambience. First the good and positive things .... Portion sizes are good and plenty. It was nice to have the live band while we ate on a Saturday night and staff is very friendly. Now the negative- we sat ourselves like the sign said but after 45 minutes after we sat down we had to flag someone down to even look at us. She took our drink and food order right then which was I thought was going to be a turn around of good service but then just our drinks took forever to get and the server asked if my cousin wanted lemon with her water (which she did) but she never received it and we couldnt find her again to remind her. The food took such a long time to get to us..... we asked about the lemon slices ..... the server said they only had one lemon left. Oooh we had asked for Pepsi but they were out of regular Pepsi and regular Dr. Pepper but they had diet.... i ordered the 1/2 chicken and okra with BBQ sauce x 2 on the side, my chicken breast was dry and I never received my BBQ sauce. My cousin's husband said his thigh was dry as well. My cousin never received her pork chops and ended up eating the leg and okra from my dinner. We flagged "a" server down and told them about the pork chop dinner we were still waiting on and they would check on it. We never saw that server again. We had all finished our food and finally saw our server again and she told us we should have already received the pork chop dinner already and it would take about 10 more minutes but at this time we didn't not want it anymore.
