    Chicken Pops Plate

Chickenple is an excellent place for lunch takeout! Yelpers didn't let me down when I was looking for a tasty lunch spot in the area. Those chicken buns were perfect: the chicken was juicy and tender and had a nice crisp while the bun was soft and fresh. The sauce on top was a nice mix of sweet and spicy. The chicken pops meal was a good price for the amount of food you get: an ample amount of chicken, rice, and a salad with a tasty dressing. I loved everything, but the chicken was definitely a highlight. Since it was cooked to order, it was fresh, hot, and crispy. I love how it wasn't greasy either! I'll definitely be back when I'm in that area.

Chickenple in North Arlington, NJ, earns a solid 4-star review. Their specialty, the Korean fried chicken wings, deserves special mention for being extra crispy and flavorful. The fries were just average French fries, lacked salt. My preferred flavor is the salt and pepper wings, followed by the tasty soy garlic, though the sweet & spicy was a tad too sweet for my liking. The chicken buns were also a highlight, featuring a delicious sauce that enhanced the overall experience. While there's room for improvement on the sweet & spicy wings, Chickenple remains a commendable choice for those craving top-notch Korean fried chicken in North Arlington. I got it DoorDash so I can't say anything about their service and atmosphere

I have to go with a solid 3 stars on this place. Even a 3.4 stars. It's not drop dead phenomenal and it's not horrible. This place is literally floating around in the safe part of the pool. Definitely good enough for a local establishment but I wouldn't tell my buddy who lives 40 minutes away he needs to come here. You see where this is going I think. We got the XL order of wings (20 wings) for a family of four, I got the shrimp bun (which came with 2) and a side of fries for our youngest, of course. Let's start with the shrimp bun. It was a shrimp tempura on the equivalent of a Chinese bao, piece of lettuce and some type of sauce. I ate one of them and was honestly uninterested in the second one. The shrimp was ok. Nothing special. I'm not a big tempura person but not against it. The bao was a little too sweet for me and the sauce just wasn't for me. I can't put my finger on what kind of sauce it was. As for the wings, we got half sweet and spicy and half soy garlic. Wings had a nice crunch to them. The downfall was the fact that there was just too much sauce on it. I personally think it was unnecessary and would've been better and tastier with less. The sweet and spicy was a great combination. Somehow just as the heat kicked in after a bite, it was immediately countered with a sweet sensation. It offset each other perfectly and was very tasty. Again, I wish they didn't put so much on it. The soy garlic was very good. My wife actually enjoyed this one more than the sweet and spicy. Flavor was very good but would've been better if there wasn't so much sauce. I'm pretty sure you're getting the gist that they could've held back on the sauce. There was a salt and pepper rub as well that we didn't try. Wings were crunchy but would've had a 20 time crisper exterior if it wasn't smothered with sauce. Service was excellent. Man at the counter was very polite and food was ready at the promised time. Major points for that. Lighten up on that sauce and this place easily moves up to a 4.2... In my opinion anyway..

Solid and reliable option to get some kickass wings and baos. We have been here now a couple of times since our first visit and I must say, food is really good and consistent. Bae loved her baos, and those wings are really good. Definitely a place not to be missed when in the area.

What took me so long to try this place?? Buns buns bunsssss. Go for the chicken! I got two orders of those and probably should've gotten three. I hate sharing. I can't wait to try the shrimp, I'm sure that's delicious too. They're not soggy, the sauce is justttt right too. I also got the chicken tender plate. That's boneless Korean style tenders with rice and salad. I would stay away from the sesame dressing, it wasn't my favorite. I can't even be mad at it though because everything else was so good. The sweet chili sauce is delicious too. Lastly I got some good old fries. They're really good, everything in the bag just filled my car with an aroma that can't be described while I was driving home. Just go and do yourself a favor. They also have a sign explaining how long it takes to prepare each item. So be patient guys, it's worth it. They're making it fresh! If you're eating in, they actually have a big space. A few tables in the back and a huge tv. The worker wasn't the friendliest but hey I walked in at 8:30 so I wouldn't be that friendly either to be fair. I would definitely recommend this place. Having great food this close by is dangerous.

Gooey soy garlic?? And mehhhh cole slaw

Locally there are a few chain KFC places in the area, but the name seems to suggest it's different... "chicken-plee"? "chicken-pleh"? "chicken-ple" that rhymes with "apple" (somehow???) hahaa So, I had to try their KFC! Street metered parking but abundant parking in the garage across the street. Plenty of seating inside. As with all KFC, took about 10-15mins to fry up. I ordered a small soy garlic wing 5pcz with a cole slaw side. Wings weren't skimpy, howeverssss... they were battered well & appears its got that Popeye flaky crunch. Sadly though, the gooey sauce which appeared like orange duck sauce was drizzled onto them and made the wings soggy. And the cole slaw had a tang that was off, had flavor but had an end taste that tasted slightly metallic. Honestly, I've tasted better KFC. But this could be the place if you don't got any other options!

Ordered through Uber eats and delivery was quick. I ordered the sweet and spicy wings and the chicken spicy mix bowl. The wings were sticky and delicious! The skin was cooked perfectly, although it was drenched in sauce they were very crispy without being soggy. As for the chicken spicy mix bowl, I wish there was an option to specify how much sauce you want on it. My wall had way too much sauce for me which made it A bit over powering to eat. Overall I would order from this place again. I see why there are so many good reviews.

Food is great, always consistent. Very friendly staff. Very clean establishment. Even when I order for delivery the food always arrives hot and fresh.

    Ask the Community - Chickenple

Chickenple has been closed for a few weeks now. Does anyone know when they might be reopening?

They are open again (today is 7/31/22). I spoke with the owner, who explained that the business was temporarily closed for about 5 months, due to a family issue, but it is once again open and operating during it's regular posted business hours.

I know there's a million Halal spots popping up, and I will admit I'm very, very picky when it comes to platters. I miss the good ol' days on 53rd street in NYC... I came by around 10pm and was served quickly by a friendly employee. They have platters, burgers, wraps, wings, chicken tenders, fries, etc. I ordered the chicken rice platter (~$13.50). They cook the meat fresh on the grill and then you choose your toppings at the salad bar (olives, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc.). It's a bit pricier than other places, but the portion size is huge. The container felt HEAVY lol. It's just a shame it went to waste because I really didn't enjoy the food. I only finished about half of it before I tossed the rest. The white sauce was almost flavorless and was VERY watery. The chicken wasn't as well-seasoned. No distinct spices or aroma. Every bite left me with a very greasy and salty taste in my mouth. The side salad was just okay. I was disappointed. The only saving grace was the rice... it was fluffy and the best part of the whole platter. Not sure if I came on an off night or...? Don't let my review stop you from trying. It might just not be the Halal spot for me.

(He got me a mixed platter) The portion size is big enough for SHREK. The price was perfect for a gambling degenerate like myself. Don't think twice, just go. This is definitely a place to bring your side piece... your main girl will never know. Unless your main girl is a TJ MAXX shopper, that's right across the street, in that case be cautious taking your side piece here.

The reason I give it 3 stars is because I don't think they've ever gotten my food order 100% right. They make a tasty burger, but they always forget at least one requested topping on the burger. The menu says "lettuce, tomato, and onion on request" and even though I always request all three, I never get all three. If I ask for a different kind of cheese, I get American anyway. A lot of the time my receipt will have all of my requests on it, but the burger doesn't match. Also, they seem to have downgraded their onion rings. The old ones were awesome and were a major selling point for me as an onion ring enjoyer. The new onion rings remind me of Burger King. Overall solid spot with a nice Irish pub vibe. Waitresses are mostly cool and friendly.
