Ordered: Bulgogi, Shrimp Tempura Bun and Sweet and Spicy Wings Bulgogi was a special, it was very good. Usually when I've had bulgogi it's mostly fatty but the cuts of meat were great. Flavor was great, especially with the cabbage and carrot mixture. Shrimp Bun was delicious. Tender, flavor was perfect. I just wish they expanded the menu on the buns. Maybe pork soon? This place is relativity new, it open a few months ago two jersey towns from where I live. I love Korean chicken (Boom Boom Chicken, in Rutherford) so I had to try Chickenple take on it, especially since they have steamed buns with tempura shrimp or chicken also. I tried calling ahead but the phone was always busy so I drove there and placed my order for a soy garlic10 wings 5 drumstick combo for $15.95, You can get other sizes of singles orders or other combos. I also got coleslaw, french fries, and the tempura shrimp buns. The wait was 20 minutes and I killed the time by scoping what my Yelp friends were doing. Unlike Boom Boom you can see them cooking the food here and they have a double the table seating area that has a cleaner style to the place with the red white wall combo. They also had a artistic quote on one wall that I found interesting; Dance as though no one is watching, Love as though you never been hurt, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though heaven is on earth. Yes this is a chicken joint! What make Korean chicken so special beyond the flavoring is the double frying that makes it real crispy but not dry. And Chickenple delivered with tasty tiny air pocketed crispy chicken that was still moist on the inside with a drizzle of source on it to boost the flavor. The pieces were good sizes.and we ass some left over and when I got the craven for some more It still tasted good after it got cold. The fries where OK too and the found that tempura shrimp buns where better than I imagined with a tasty spicy mayo and okonomi sauce makes a big difference. The only disappointment was the coleslaw that includes corn and so much so that it has a corn flavor to it. I like coleslaw simple like KFC and this was MEH to me. The menu is strictly "chicken"... Based on reviews I figured I should call to place my order rather than just sitting there for 30 minutes.... They deliver within a 3 mile radius but if you fall outside of that, I would advise to drive it. They make the food fresh so if you are in a rush, make sure you call in or place an order through GrubHub. Upon arriving, I was greeted by the friendly cashier & owner. I've never tried Korean food before so I have nothing to compare it to, but this was excellent! I had the chicken buns and they were soooo good. I wish I'd gotten two orders since one didn't quite fill, but now I know for next time. I don't handle spicy food very well, but the heat in the sauce was pleasant instead of overdone. I also ordered the Chicken pops plate for my two slightly picky toddlers to share and they both loved it! I also tasted it and thought the flavor was quite good. I saw that other reviewers said that the food took a little while, so I ordered and then drove 15 minutes to get there and my food was ready for me. I will be back soon! read more

Even though we ended up hitting traffic, making us 20 minutes late to pick up our food, it was still pretty good, deserving more of a 3.5 / 4 star review, but kept it at only 3 since they didn't get our order right. We ordered the large wing and drumstick combo, asking for the drumsticks with salt & pepper seasoning and the wings with soy & garlic, but they made it all salt & pepper. We also ordered chicken tenders for the kids with a side of French fries. By the time we got home, all the food was cold, so we had to reheat everything in the oven. We were in the Lyndhurst area and looking for a quick bite. I noticed that this place was nearby and had great reviews. I quickly went online and checked out their website and decided to make the short drive. We arrived there at around 3:30 PM on a Friday afternoon and the place was empty. In fact, during our 30-40 there, only a handful of people came in for take-out, presumably workers taking a late lunch, as many were in business attire.There is metered street parking in the area along the main road. The meters take quarters (1 quarter for 1 hour!!) and they were nice enough to break my dollar into quarters for the meter. The space is nice and clean. There is a seating area in the front with two tables and two more tables in the rear with a large screen TV there as well. There are also a few steps near the rear seating area that takes you to the bathroom, which was clean and well-kept as well. We ordered the Sweet and Spicy Wings, the Salt and Pepper Wings and the Shrimp Tempura Sandwiches. The prices were very reasonable with wings ranging from 5 pieces for $4.50 to 20 pieces for $15.95. The sandwiches come in a set of 2 for $5.95. We were told that that wings take 15 minutes. It was nice of them to advise that waiting time. Later, I noticed that there was a small sign by the counter that stated the waiting times for various items: 20 minutes for drumsticks, 15 minutes for wings, 8 minutes for tenders and 6 minutes for buns and french fries. There was also a fridge with various soft drinks which were also reasonably priced with canned sodas for $1 and 2 liter sodas for $3. Its nice that they give you the options for 2 liter sodas, many place do not as they can make a lot more $$ for a larger group by charging for individual drinks. Our food was brought out to us in about 15 minutes. Everything was great. Both wing flavors were great and the small sandwiches were excellent. Great food, great prices and Great service. Fantastic shrimp buns! The sauce is a bit spicy but tolerable-- I can still taste the shrimp. The chicken buns are good but I recommend the shrimp buns because they are super crunchy and a good portion size. I went around 7pm; barely anyone there. The place was clean and simple. The music videos playing were loud but we asked the cashier to turn it down and he did. He was nice and brought us our food. Two buns for $5.95. I enjoyed every last bite. I'm not sure if there's any buns near NA but this one is def worth trying out. read more

The sweet & spicy wings are absolutely incredible. It takes over 20 min to prepare them but the wait time is worth it. That's their signature dish. I have ordered from this place more times than I can count and I have never been disappointed. I particularly love the Chicken Mayo Mix Bowl and the Bulgogi Buns. I have heard great things about the wings and the dinner plates, as well. The food is always warm and comes with all of the necessary cutlery. When delivered, it is packed well. I'll start off by saying that, if you're a fan of fried chicken and want something a little different than the usual KFC, Popeyes, etc., do yourself a favor and pay this place a visit. The menu selection is pretty minimal but suffices. The food I've tried so far is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is wonderful (very friendly and accommodating). Usually, restaurant staff in this neighborhood are typically rude, but not these people. So, how was the food? I've tried the Soy Garlic wings and drumsticks combo and they are excellent. They are generously covered in the soy garlic sauce (no skimping on sauces here), which I can say is absolutely mouth-watering. The wings are the typical ~3 inch long kind and the drumsticks are substantial. They were bigger and heftier than I had expected. It was a pleasant surprise. You can order both kinds as a combo in different predetermined quantities or on their own. If you order a combo, you can have one one flavor and the other, another (ex: wings soy garlic, drumsticks salt and pepper). The order is packaged in cardboard boxes with flip tops and despite accumulation of moisture, doesn't get soggy and fall apart. I had also had their shrimp steamed buns for around $5-6. They were freshly made and very tasty. You get two and they are packed in a sushi container. The buns were soft and moist and they were wrapped, taco-style, around the shrimp which was crispy and flavorful. You also get sauces in there with some veggies which give it nice flavor and texture. Portion-wise, I'd say each bun was about the size of my palm (I have average sized hands for a man). There is also a chicken variant, which I've yet to try). Beverages and sides are sold separately at a fair price and for my order of 10 wings/5 drumsticks and two shrimp buns, the wait was approximately 25 minutes from order to pickup, which is about the average wait for these kinds of places. If you're a fan of chicken and want to try something different, give this place a visit. I think you may end up coming back. read more

I have been eating Korean Fried chicken for quite a few years now and am a huge fan of the soy garlic chicken wings. When I noticed one was opening in my neighborhood I immediately checked it out. Very nice setup if you choose to eat in. Very friendly staff and welcoming. I ordered the 5 pc chicken wings with soy garlic and shrimp buns. The prices are very reasonable. I waited about 15 minutes for my order because the chicken is made fresh to order. I know they are fairly new and still improving therefore I decided not to critque everything they need to work on. I decided to sit down and eat and was a little perplexed when they bagged my meal instead of handing it to me on a tray or a plate. They need some improvement in that area for sit down customers. For the food, the chicken wings were very good and fresh. Not overly fried and they are very generous with the soy garlic sauce. The shrimp buns delicious. Overall I give the food 5 stars. I gave them a 4 rating due to my experience as a sit down customer. Aside from that I will be returning and hope to see them succeed as a new establishment in the area. read more

The chicken "tenders" were super dry and inedible so that went in the trash. Bummer because it was 9$ for the medium order. Chicken buns were good Wings were too sweet, the "sweet and spicy" sauce base had too much sweet chili sauce in there and was clearly not the typical sweet n spicy that's on KFC (Korean fried chicken) anywhere else. Because the tenders were so inedible and the rest of the food was just eh or not that good, I have to give them 1 star. Overall disappointing, I'll stick to Bon bon or drive out of my way to peck peck.
