Fast service, hot food, the atmosphere is very welcoming and respectful people. Food was/is really really good.

Solid KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) in Rutherford! The interior has a couple of tables and seats, but this spot seems mostly like a takeout/delivery place. They have a great $8 lunch special (5 pc chicken, fries or rice, and salad). Or you can buy a box of chicken (9 pc for $14 or 16 pc for $23) and choose between soy garlic and/or spicy sauce, which are both tasty. There's usually an assortment of wingettes, drummettes and drumsticks. All really crispy and served hot! It takes them around 20 minutes to fry up the chicken when they're not busy. They're also really generous with the pickled radish!

20 pcz Popcorn Chicken Meal Lunch Special! $9.99 with 2 sides

Went here for weekday lunch special, they were $7.99 but now $9.99, however with different options! So I got their popcorn chicken in soy garlic & thought it was going to be a small serving compared to the 5 pcz wings. But when I saw it I was happy! But because it was closed for a bit in the paper container some chickens got soggy. Included are 2 sides & you can double up on one that you really like. I think one star off just because of the container causing sogginess. Otherwise I'd advise to patiently order in person & eat them fresh!

Never ate at this place before but seen the reviews so I decided to try it. I ordered the lunch box special. 5 pieces of chicken (mild) rice and fries. The chicken was fresh and crispy. The fries were good and crunchy. The chicken tasted fresh and was hot. I highly recommended this place. I definitely go back!

We had seen boom boom chicken the last time we visited Jersey and they had already closed for the evening. We vowed to come back and try it out on our next trip. In him glad we did. The lady inside the door taking orders was very sweet and personable. She told us about a dinner special that wasn't on the menu in it sounded great so we took it. After placing our order she told us to come back in about 15 minutes when it will be done. Sure enough, our food was ready to go on time. We didn't think that it would be such a hefty plate, but when we opened the containers in our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. It was 5 or 6 pieces of chicken with white rice and a salad, all for $10. The chicken was huge and smelled heavenly! The rice was fluffy and tasty, complementing the flavour of the soy garlic chicken. Gladly there was food leftover ( yay breakfast!) We didn't want it to end. We will surely come back to boom boom chicken on our next visit . Thank you again for suggesting the dinner special, nice lady!

    1. Mixed Wings Arms, Drumsticks Came with pickled radish which pairs well with the chicken.

Super nice staff, flavorful chicken. I got the half/half wings and the spicy ones had a nice kick to them

Boom Boom Bang Bang this chicken hit the spot. I was surprised with the huge drumsticks that has crispy sticky sesame garlic coating on the outside and moist tender on the inside. I shared some crispy fries and onion rings with 2 friend for about $20 how ridiculous is that?

Inside the store. Nice little place with some tables.

Love korean fried chicken and was so glad to see that there was one in rutherford since I would always have to drive to fort lee to get it. Decided to finally stop in last night to get some food. I got the 12 piece soy garlic mild wings with radish and it was absolutely delicious. Finished it all on my own and still wanted more. Could be a little bit pricey compared to other fried chicken places but it's worth it. Beats KFC or Popeyes by a long shot. Haven't tried anything else on their menu yet but will definitely be coming back for more. Remember to order about 30 min beforehand because they make the wings fresh on the spot and if you go in to order, you will be waiting for a little while. They are also on grubhub and deliver, $20 minimum.

To start, they give each person 4 different banchan plates - kimchi, seaweed, pickled daikon, and soy bean sprouts. It was nice that we each had our individual set. For food, we decided to each order something different, so we could try a little bit of everything. We had: -Japchae - this was a HUGE portion. But, it was a bit too salty. The flavor was good though. They also jam pack it with lots of veggies and beef. I would recommend it but maybe just ask for less salt, if possible. -Beef bibimbap (hot) - not bad but I've had better -Soon tofu with seafood - this was pretty good but it was pretty hot that day so I wasn't really in the mood for a hot bubbling stew Overall, it wasn't bad. It has a smaller menu than most typical Korean restaurants - but that could be a good thing, if you're an indecisive person. I probably won't be back anytime soon since there are so many Korean restaurants nearby (especially Pal Park) that I need to try first. Tip - there is free street parking

Firstly, we got seated and we ordered immediately. But for an hour we were left unattended. We got no garnishes, no sauces, no food while people around us were being attended to. They weren't waiting on our food, they just forgot about us completely. Half of the food we ordered that night was never served, either. When we asked for our first grill change, it took them 30 minutes to change the grill, us having to ask three different waiters. When we finally got it, our grill was dirty, with a large dust ball and oil stain on it. The worst thing was when I was trying to ask for water, but one of the staff just shushed me by putting a finger up and leaving. He never came back to the table. It took our table a half hour just to get WATER. There are a number of other things but these were the biggest red flags. Do better.

My only gripe is that the marinated meats are a bit on the sugary side so the hot plate ends up needing to be cleaned/replaced quicker. The service is kind and accommodating.

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

2nd time coming here. Small restaurant with a few tables. Thankfully when we came (Saturday…read moreevening), there was one table available and it was the same table as last time! Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.
