So I decided to go for the pulled pork burger with coleslaw on the burger and oh my god it was delicious the pork just melts in your mouth and it's so saucy there is no way describe and the chips were cooked just right. First of all, it was ridiculously fast. We had our order in under 20 minutes delivered to the View Hotel. We were beyond impressed with the taste of our items, (I had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and he had the Batch Burger and we split - thank goodness - an order of sweet potato fries). The portion was huge! It was so good that while we were out on our cruise we were adamant that when we landed back in Sydney we were going to walk ourselves there for lunch. We found the place and this tiny little hole in the wall location and its sweet owner did not disappoint. I went for the Cajun Chicken sandwich again because... DAMN! As I told the owner it was the messiest most delicious thing I've had in a long while. My hubs chose the special burger of the month which was a tropical maple burger and we went for the gusto with the Parmesan truffle fries. It's a pretty good full rack of pork ribs at $28 with chips; much cheaper than Hurricane's but also not as good, but still quite delicious. When I got the steak burger it was just alright, a bit exxy if you want chips and a drink...total is about $30. I'd opt for the ribs each time for that price. The doors open at 11am and close at 9pm for all the hungry ladies and gents who are passing by or work in the city. The MLC Centre food court is a destination in itself for hungry workers. It received a facelift earlier in the year and was filled with fresh, fun food take away places. The Burger Project is the latest new restaurant and the only one to be open late (9pm). I've never had a burger from Burger Project before. I've heard all the hype but never been in the right place at the right time. Neil Perry is a genius Chef and businessman so I knew anything with his name attached was going to be outstanding! Our team at work were working late last-night and we all had our eyes on Burger Project burgers for dinner. We tried to order online but it wouldn't work. We walked down to Martin Place and ordered in person. I asked about ordering online and the young girl at the counter said the online ordering will be up and running soon. We ordered and were given a buzzer each. Much like at a pub or fish & chip shop it loudly buzzes and vibrates when your food is ready. They also ask for your name when you order so it's yelled out across the noise of the buzzer. One can choose to dine in or take away. Seating is available behind the kitchen (see my photo) or there are two tables out the front. My suggestion would be get take away and sit on the MLC steps and watch the world go by. Now for the burgers. YUM. My mate said his was like a fancy Big Mac. Much better than a Big Mac of course. The meat was tender and it had the right balance of sauce, meat and lettuce. It is an open concept cafe like burger chain with modern interior design. Decided to order El Fish burger - $10 (price subject to change) which consist of battered fish, cos lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, pickles and lemon herb aioli. I decided to opt out the vegetables as the burger might be bloated and the main taste might not be there. With an additional $5, you could choose a drink and a side dish: chips, sweet potato chips or coleslaw. I am a fan of sweet potato chips and hence I ordered that with Kirk's creamy soda. Next time round I'll probably give the cheesy bacon chips and one of the shakes. Servers are friendly and food arrived within 5 minutes. The burger's buns are crispy and well-cooked. The ingredients are also well-cooked and flavorful. The sauce... Just beyond words. It just makes you wanting to eat more of those.
