I needed to catch a flight from Newark airport to salt lake city. I called chico express , i schedule a pickup for 2pm. They quoted my ride for $80 tolls included. The driver showed up at 2pm right on time. Was gentle with his driving and had good customer service. I didnt have any "surprises" in the end of the ride with the price they quoted me ($80 plus the tip). Thats exactly what i was expecting from car service. read more

Ordered this service to go to Newark Airport from Brooklyn. Driver and dispatcher were both rude. When we ordered the ride, they did not ask for a credit card. At the end of the ride, the driver asked us to pay and we needed to call the company phone number to pay then. I understand why this service often gets very poor reviews and I wish we had looked more carefully for a better service, which we will do next time. read more

I love these guys and some of their drivers are total accommodating polite gentlemen. It just seems that at first they are fast, then 'right now as an eta means 5-10 mins. For a while I was using them for errands , once I needed just a one stop drop off they were disappointed and service went downhill. Today my ride was equally great and bad, the cab was chilled to about 55 like a near locker, but reggaeton or salsa meringue was blasting into my hangover addled brain. Wait times can vary since Chico s is a high volume business so it is best to make a reservation by via mobile app or calling late evening when there is a low volume of calls. Dispatcher has horrible customer service. Goes to show why they lost so much business. Prices make no sense. How does it cost $9 to go from 68st and 14ave to 68 and 8ave. No rush hr times no traffic 530 in the morning and they charge $2 per block to go straight down. Great job got paid $8 for 4 mins. Unfortunately we are no longer using this car service. They were becoming unreliable. 5 minutes was turning into 15 minutes. The guy on the phone was giving me one price and the driver another. It was frustrating. We ended up getting a dog and they were charging us extra for a 4lb dog in a bag. We found a better service who knows how to respect their clients. read more

Chico Express has to be the best car service I've used in the city, there's no doubt about it. My car was in the shop for a week for about a month, and to get to work is a very long and inconvenient commute via public transportation, so I called Chico. They told me it would take 15 minutes to get to my house, and they were there almost on the dot, give or take three minutes or so (which is no big deal). They hopped right onto the Belt Parkway to take me to work, and charged me $12, which I find very reasonable for a highway trip. They also gave me the same price going back home. Drivers are very nice and personable. My one complaint (if you could even call it that) was that one of the drivers drove pretty fast. I personally don't mind, in fact I prefer that, but it would've been rather inconvenient if he say got pulled over, or worse, got into an accident. All-in-all however, I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. read more

Unbelievably bad experience, similar to one we had previously a few years ago and I forgot I had vowed never to use chico's again. My 89 year old mother, who has dementia, was being taken to the doctor with her aide. When the car service was called we were told the cost was $18. While the driver was driving my mother and the aide he told them it was $24. She called me. She and I both called the dispatcher. We were both told by the dispatcher it should be $20 and don't pay the $24.. We both told him he had said $18 a little while earlier. I told the aid do not pay the $24. But, she had to pay with a $50 bill and the driver would only give her enough change so that he kept $24. She tried to argue with him but she got intimidated and got out of the car with my mother. I called the local police precinct and they told me to get the name of the driver or else to have my mother and the aide go to the dispatchers office and call 911. I wasn't about to have them make a separate trip to do that so I called the dispatcher. He told me I had to call another number which was the owner's company. They gave me a very rude run around, first telling me they didn't have time to find the name, then telling me they wouldn't find the name, then, when I said the police would come, they said 'fine let them', then they finally told me they weren't even connected to the first number I called. At no point I was told they were sorry, I had no point was I told they would take care of it and discipline the driver, at no point was I told they would send me a refund or that I should come in for a refund, and of course, they wouldn't give me the name of the driver to give to the police. I have now filed a TLC complaint and I'm waiting for a hearing date so that we can show up and get justice. It is an outrageous way for business to be run and I can't believe they are still in business. read more

If I could, I would give this car service 0 stars. I was on my way home from work when I called their car service. The dispatcher told me 10 - 15 minutes. Once 15 mins went by, the driver called me to say he was stuck in traffic and not to call for another cab. After waiting a half hour, I get in the car and tell the driver my address. Then he says that 2 drivers were dispatched to my location and there was a mix up...he wasn't supposed to pick me up. Once the driver left, I called the dispatcher to see how long it will be....but the driver apparently had "an emergency" and they will get a new driver to my location. I don't appreciate being told 2 different stories and waiting an hour for sloppy car service and possibly being discriminated because of where I live.
