Sadly, I cannot say anything positive about this place. I hosted my daughter's baby shower there. Had I known that they closed at 8:00 on a weekend night I wouldn't have went there. The drinks had very little alcohol in them. The food absolutely sucked. No one that attended the baby shower ate all of their food because it was not worth eating. No one's food looked appetizing or appealing. Even the dessert sucked. The waitress said that the business is for sale, and I would say it's probably a good thing if it sells or if it was too close. The staff and service, very good. The food, bland. The yellow queso for my chips and the salsa were good. Overpriced imo for what you get. It's not a fancy dining establishment, casual, but was remodeled recently and neighbors told me more roomy now. Always check their hours online or call before heading over. We had the absolute best experience with Chico's Mexican Restaurant for a last-minute catered birthday dinner party--and I cannot sing their praises loudly enough! With barely 24 hours' notice (yes, you read that right), we were scrambling to put together a birthday celebration after our original plans fell through. I connected with Lupita in a bit of a panic, and from the very first interaction, she was calm, kind, and completely on top of things. Not only did they accommodate our short notice--they nailed it. The food was phenomenal. Every dish arrived fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. From the savory cheese dip to tacos. Service-wise, the team was on time, professional, and genuinely warm. They set everything up seamlessly and even helped us arrange a stunning display. It felt like they were just as invested in making the evening special as we were. What could have been a stressful evening turned into a truly memorable one, thanks entirely to the care and quality from Chico's Mexican Restaurant. Aww I wanted this place to be yummy. I always see it advertised in SPLURGE and it always looks so delicious unfortunately it wasn't. I do have to say the chips and salsa were good and the taco not too bad but the rest of my meal was unappealing (carne asada soft taco and beef enchilada). The waitress was very kind and did a good job . I don't know why but I envisioned this restaurant as being elegant and fancy but it wasn't, not bad inside just not what I expected. I do have to say it got really busy so maybe I just didn't know what to order. Oh I forgot my friend said her retried beans were cold . Oh well we tried. read more

Our favorite place, Lupita and her staff are wonderful, the margaritas are top notch, those who complain about food being bland, come on, know how to order, ask for it made spicy with fresh jalepenos, try something besides burritos, I suggest the chili rellenos with a toreado serrano, also the flautas, sopes and fried tacos, ask for xtra hot salsa and the elote, when they have it try the menudo. Much appreciated after a long day. Nothing beats a ice cold margarita. It wasn't too strong nor to sweet but almost a perfect blend. 4.5/5 my coworker recommended this was her favorite place to get margaritas from. I'm new to town and was skeptical at 1st seeing the reviews the people left. But I never judged a book by its cover, the Chile verde burrito was something I'm looking to come back for too! Negatives: they made my cheese enchiladas with Kraft singles. I wish I were exaggerating. I've had better cheese dip at gas stations and I'm positive most everything came from a can and was microwaved. It was out so quickly, there was no way anything was fresh. Taco Bell is better. The food was cold and I found a toothpick buried inside my burrito. Sadly, I found it after it stabbed the roof of my mouth. Me and my partner always each at Chicos. It's like 1/2 Tex mex and 1/2 authentic food. I recommend the carne asada Fries! They started those when we hosted the Trux Show at chicos and town west parking lot mall. We also continued to have meetings with clients there aswell. This place is great, I've heard it's under new management since 2017. They got rid of the old and on with the new, a lot of new stuff is added to the menu. Quick review - Food is decent - Smaller than average portion sizes - Cheaper prices compared to other Mexican sit-down restaurants - Food comes out incredibly fast - Chips and salsa is better than some, not as good as others.... They have improved quite a bit from where they were probably a year ago. The carnitas isn't the best that I have had, but it's better than most. Portions are pretty big, which is probably why we've never tried dessert yet. read more

This a Mexican restaurant but I would describe the food as Meh - xican. The menu has predictable choices and the prices seemed appropriate. The food is reasonably well prepared and portions predictably sized. Just nothing really stood out. I arrived there as part of a group having a meeting in the back room. There service was ok; fortunately they weren't that busy (except for us) so they managed to attend to our needs. There is a reasonably well stocked bar if you want booze. read more

My family and I have been going to Chico's for sometime. The food is always good, the service is friendly and professional, and their prices are very reasonable. All of these factors are cause for a high rating, but the five stars are for a specific reason. After my grandfather died, there was a bit of a mix up and the church wasn't able to a provide a luncheon. We called a few places but no one could fit us in, except Chico's. They were able to fit all 25 of us at the same table at 3:30pm. The service was great! The food came out fast, hot, and delicious. And they didn't charge us a party fee or required gratuity. I have driven by this restaurant many times...too bad I stopped this time! I was there around 2:30. There was only one other couple there. The atmosphere was quiet but not like the typical Mexican Restaurant where it's a homey feel. The waitress acted like she could care less if she was there or not. I asked about the special, especially what was in the burrito. She said ground beef, beans and cheese. Unfortunately that was not was in the burrito! Ground beef, lots of chunked up potatoes, little amount of beans and no cheese. I also ordered a Dr Pepper with very little ice. She brought the chips and salsa, that was the best part. Then brought my lunch. The burrito was cold, and not as described. I had to ask for my drink, which she brought that had more ice than pop. She never came back to ask how the meal was or if I needed a refill. Instead she brought out her own lunch and was eating. I was only able to get her attention when another patron came in, which she had to stop feeding her face. I asked for a to go box and a Dr Pepper to go. She brought out the box. It was very evident, that I didn't like my burrito, but never asked if it was ok. The to go cup was a small cup, like what you would give a child. I gave this crappy restaurant one star, because the chips and salsa was very good. THE REST OF THE DINING EXPERIENCE WAS BEYOND POOR. DONT EAT HERE! The spicy fajitas or flautas are my favorite, fast service, love to come here to eat... I see a lot of family's dine in, but recently they've been opening on sundays now and it's a great stop for after church meals, it'll fill you up! But spicy fajitas are the way to go! read more

I wanted to change the sauce on the enchiladas but told I couldn't because they were pre-made. Queso taste like sliced cheese melted in a bowl, no spice at all. One of the top three Mexican Restaurants in town. Food is pretty good (Lousy Cheese), sometimes the waiters are quick other times slow. Salsa is very good, (when it is spicy enough).Food is overpriced, the highest $ of the top three. But still beats places like Carlos O'Kellys which is absolutely gross. Even Felipes is better than CO's but not as good as Chicos, and no where near the top three! Will agree when Mom and Dad owned it, it was better. Lupita is doing a good job, but she should really rethink her cheese and her pricing. Wow, where do i even begin? Im not sure how you can make bad mexican food since it is typicaly the same ingredients, but this place was horrible!!!! Not sure how someone gave it 4 stars. First off, i was in town on business and my colleague and i were looking for lunch. We saw that parking lot was full, so we would give it a try. Our server was slower than a 90 year old crossing the street with a walker. He took our drink order, then we didnt see him for another 10 minutes. We finally got to order, and i got the two beef enchiladas with rice. When it came out, it didnt look too appealing. It litteraly looked like they bought some frozen enchiladas from a gas station and put them in the microwave and then topped it with AMERICAN cheese. The ground beef was dried out and so was the rice. I have been to a lot of mexican restaurants and i have never once seen anything topped with american cheese and not to mention like 4 slices per enchilada. Im not a picky eater by any means and im not big into fancy food, but this was by far the worst meal i have ever had. read more

this mexican restaurant offers a wide array of authentic good tasting food. it is reasonably priced and the staff are quick and attentive. i took in 2 small children and they were well cared for. after ordering our food during a busy lunch hour it maybe took 5 minutes for our food to be served - very fast, which i appreciated. they do offer daily lunch specials, an added bonus. overall good clean place to eat! read more

Seriously 2o years ago when grandparents owned it, it was good but after going thru kids now grand kids it is possible the worst place for fake Mexican food, after they moved to new location prices went up quality and service went down, terrible, if you like a tostado buried in lettuce water cause its just premade and microwaved go , if you like queso and enchalladas with American cheese go, if you like paying mall prices for equivalent of McDonald's go, used to be a one to two time a week eater on west street, 10 years ago , new owner has taken flavor out of this place for location , salsa gets watered down thru out day by night it's tomato sauce and water., wow people expand try new places and you will probobly be mad you kept eating here for years, you are the ones posting " been going here for 30 years" try a differant place you will be surprised what true in cut Mexican food taste like, or keep going and pay $15 for a $ 2 frozen Walmart diner Wake up , they admit it they use bulk gov. If I could give this place fewer stars, I absolutely would. We sit down and get our order taken. Luckily I asked if any sauce came on the enchilada and the burrito my husband ordered. No sauce. You have to order it and they charge you 2 dollars for some nasty sauce that literally looks like dog food poured out of a can. I also asked for sour cream, another charge. Our food arrives, we have no silverware. My husband asked our waiter for silverware and he started to walk off so we asked him again and he only had one in his pocket almost completely unrolled and handed it to my husband and left to get me another one. When I finally tried my enchilada with the disgusting sauce it tasted just like it looked. Like how canned dog food smells. It also came without the sour cream that I ordered. My husbands burrito, which he ordered sauce as well, came completely without it. The cheese dip that we ordered at the beginning tasted like gravy. Even the waiter said many people say the same thing. This was just an awful restaurant. Our meal cost 21.75 for two waters, the special (6.99), and my enchiladas (7.99), and the NASTY cheese dip. Luckily we talked them out of charging us for the sauce/sour cream we didn't get. It's not even worth it. I would not come here ever again. read more
