Chido Burrito is the questionable life choice that I never seem to regret. Like, you obviously don't eat this before an interview or your wedding but damn it sure is a satisfying and sweatpants inducing meal. CB is set up chipotle style but offers more in terms of protein. They have fish and shrimp in addition to the standard beef and chicken options. It's always consistent and fresh. A complimentary salsa station is also at your disposal. Just an extra perk thus one upping chipotle. This place is pretty popular and it's not unusual to find a line upon arrival. Don't sweat it though. The employees are efficient and move the assembly style line quickly. Use the wait time to understand the menu and know your options. Don't be THAT person. What else can I say? This place is good for fresh, quick, and convenient meals. It's light years above any nearby fast food chains. It's a nicer setting as well. The vibe can best be described as surfer bohemian. Each of the ingredients taste great, and don't sit around like at chipotle. The meat is tasty, but I'm not sure what oils they are cooked in. The thing is is that sometimes they don't give you enough meat. When I say something, there's immediate BS and giggling instead of customer service. You can address the problem and make the customer wrong. But you don't have to laugh at me. And when I tell you that last time I was given more, I'm not just saying that, in front of the line, lying.I get that feeling of being in the lunchroom back in high school when they would give me one slice of ham and one slice of cheese with bread. When I first went there, about a year ago, every time they made it, it was delicious and they put enough of everything, but then they hire people and it's like they don't even train them and they're just these kids. For me, working as a waiter or as a bus person, or as a bar back, or a bartender, or a doctors assistant, etc. I care about the production of a service in whatever job I do. And when I see people wearing a hat of a job and they should disrespect, it's not worth five stars. Like I said, I love the taste of the ingredients. Was in the area and saw the sign for Chido Burrito. Decided to step in and I was blown away! The decor was absolutely fabulous. The menu is huge and easy to understand and read, even when the line is pretty long. All of the food is made fresh - including the guac and salsas. While I was standing in line, I saw the woman throwing more seasoned chicken and shrimp on the grill. This place is top notch with quality and freshness. I had the chicken burrito, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was fresh off the grill - perfectly seasoned in their "Chido" seasoning. The guac tasted as if it had just been made, super smooth and creamy...and the queso is to DIE for! I am very particular with my guac, and I loved it here. For you salsa lovers, there is a salsa bar with 4 or so different salsa options. Also, there is a CocaCola Freestyle machine, which is always a plus. Stopped by for lunch. Had the chicken nachos and fish tacos. Nachos were pretty good. Chips were crunchy. Toppings were fresh. Fish tacos were good. Overall taste was good. 2 stars cause staff were impatient. Some would get irritated if you didn't get your order straight or asked questions. Then vented their frustration with us among staff which we clearly heard. We also felt rushed even though nobody was behind us. I'll consider the many other Mexican places around. read more

Chipotle isn't local to where I live (it's about a 20 min drive away) so whenever I'm in the mood for a quick salad, bowl or burrito I come to Chido. Their flavors are a lot less BOOM BAM POW than Chipotle's but you can jazz things up with their salsa bar. The ingredients are always fresh and you see the proteins being made right in the kitchen behind the line. The place has an overall California beach hut feel from the surfboards on the walls to the music being played. The service is always consistently positive as well. read more

When Chido Burrito opened in Northfield, no one was more excited than me. Living 5 minutes away, I ate here once a week. I am a huge Mexican food fan and even though this is a Cali-Mexican place, it's still delicious for what it is. I usually get the grilled fish tacos, extra cilantro on corn tortillas and jalepenos on the side. I would never bring a date here because it gets quite messy! They're queso is also the best queso I've had ANYWHERE. LOVE! I've also had pork salad, steak tacos, chicken quesadilla, everything I've ever had from here has not disappointed. The salsa bar is also the best. They're homemade mild pico salsa and the verde are my go-to's. I love the vibe of the place too, good music, surf videos and a tiki type canopy to make you feel like you're outside on some colorful island somewhere. I came into Chido a week or two ago and had the worst experience ever. There was a short line but I waited over 15 minutes before anyone could take my order. There was only one girl working the line and one girl on register while 3 other girls were goofing around by the drive thru window. They were socializing and talking on their cell phones the entire time not helping anyone at all. The girl working the register was talking on the phone using her airpods and wasn't paying attention at all to me trying to pay for the food. Very unprofessional work ethics they have here. Food: this place is very similar to Qdoba and Chipotle, but has a great salsa bar. I had a pork burrito which was delicious. If I had to pick a flaw, I might argue that the pork could have been more seasoned, but it was still very good. This place also has more options. I only gave it one star because there is no option for no stars. Ate here several times with folks from work. Noticed that folks behind the counter don't wear gloves while handling food. No hats or hair nets. Was the same thing every time I ate there. No board of health inspections? Food wasn't that good. Sorta bland. Last time there got really sick. Had diarrhea for several days.
