Great first experience at Chief's! Such a homey environment and the staff is so welcoming and helpful. Love the mix of coffee and cocktail options. We tried their espresso martini and pisco sour - both were delish!

Such a beautiful vibe at this place and a few things I got to try was great, just one request to the owner - please add some vegan options.

Chief's was cool! We stopped by on a slow Sunday afternoon to check out this new neighborhood gem - so glad we did. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks from the menu. I first chose the Tarragon & Tonic. It was good, probably not something I'd choose again, but refreshing. Then, we each described our moods, picked a spirit, and the bar tender went to town! This drink was much more my speed and I really loved it. Bonus that the staff was super friendly and able to make a wide range of drinks depending on the ask. The space is really vibey and intimate. Chief's is good for a date or night you want to have an elevated experience. Wouldn't call it a hangout spot. Drinks are great, though definitely on the pricey side (hello $20 cocktails). That said, I'll definitely be back! Parking is hit or miss in this area, though if you take the light rail, it's a pleasant walk through Noda to make your way here.

The pictures don't do it justice. This beautiful new cocktail bar in the heart of NoDa feels like home, it's cozy, and elegant and classy at the same time. The staff is crazy knowledge and the cocktails are great! Things I have never seen on the menu before like the cheerwine cocktail were amazing. We tried a bunch of different ones and there wasn't a bad cocktail! We also got lucky to try some delicious fresh made cookies and they were literally melting in my mouth! Can't wait to stop for more drinks here as NoDa continues to grow! Also not pictured is the the beautiful outdoor area, so summers should be fun! I do want to mention it is a bit pricey but you are paying for an art form! It's not your average vodka cran or tequila soda so keep this in mind! This is a great place to stop for a drink before dinner or you stop for a night cap :)

Toasted Focaccia - Pimento Cheese & Hot Honey

Chief's feels like visiting a friend's house. And it's intended to. When I asked Bob Peters a year and half ago what he wanted Chief's to feel like he said, "like you've just left my house." And, in that house, you're provided friendly service, a top-quality cocktail (and there are spirit free options), and light bites and snacks full of nostalgia and free of pretense. Chief's will be a cozy neighborhood favorite where you can just show up as yourself without needed to be dressed up to eat, drink, or play. The Clarified Malted Milk Punch is on their list of craft cocktails and it was exceptional. They also have classic cocktails. The sausage plate was delectable in that the sausage was perfectly cooked and flavorful. And the toaster focaccia is baked next door at The Goodyear House, and it's not your classic, soft focaccia -- it's toasted to better hold some of the toppings you'll experience -- such as the pimento cheese with hot honey (which I really liked). I sat at the bar and didn't get to explore much else of the parlour but I will say there's a sitting area like a living room when you enter the bar area as well. There are fire places and more seating beyond the front room that I'll have to check out another day. For what it is and is expected to be - not a full service restaurant, I think Chief's is off to a nice start.

Awesome newer cocktail spot! They have creative drinks and overall the place is a vibe. You get upscale chic cocktail bar vibes at night because it's dark and candlelit. The music was one of the best parts! Really enjoyed this spot!

We found this place when looking for a vibey cocktail bar to go to and this is definitely the right find for it. We didn't place a reservation so when we got there it was a 1.5 hour wait on a Friday night, but the hostess said to put our number and name down in case someone cancels and she would call and text us. She was right! We waited elsewhere not thinking we would get in but we did after around 40 minutes and I received a text and call from her, so we definitely appreciated her looking out for us. Our experience here was definitely well worth the wait because it was a nice and cozy cocktail place. For the first drink, I got the Yalla which had Hawaiian black salt on the rim and that paired with the drink was exceptional! For the second drink, I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone so I got the Clarified Malted Milk Punch per out waitress informing me that it tastes like a spiced drink, but cold and you can't taste the bourbon which was exactly what I wanted and exactly what I got! I hate bourbon plain but the concoction made it super good that even my bourbon-loving boyfriend loved this drink. The mixture of the cold and spices was great and I would definitely come back to get this drink again. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience here and I will make sure to make a reservation next time.

Chief's is a great spot to lounge. They recently expanded their menu to include coffee and some menu items from next door - The Goodyear House. You seat yourself and can choose from indoor or outdoor.

Super cute spot in NODA. They have a lot that you have to pay for unless you get a street parking. My drink was really really good. I told the bar tender to make me anything with tequila & it was definitely a quality drink. My friend got an old fashion & he said it was really good as well. They are on the higher side. My drink in the picture was $17 and the only fashion was $27 I believe. But overall a great experience. They also sell coffee. Very intimate place

They recently started serving coffee and we stopped in for a drip coffee and espresso. It is decorated to absolute perfection and they have a great outdoor space. The bartenders were really sweet. I would recommend coming with a book and enjoying the atmosphere while drinking your coffee.

I dont think I could love Chiefs enough. Bob knows my adoration for him but I will go on. Chiefs is what I would imagine the bar from Cheers to feel like. In Noda in what was once a home I assume, Chiefs has such a pleasant atmosphere. The team here is a family and you can tell they enjoy what they do and where they do it. You cant go wrong with anything on the cocktail menu and everyone is eager to let you try something else they have been working on. But you can only expect the best when it comes to cocktails affiliated to Bob Peters! We also have to talk about the FOOD. I am always hesitant when it comes to a small bites menus, I usually find myself disappointed and still hungry. But the team here is on to something. I dont even know what is my favorite - maybe the world's best bacon (yes, I said it), or the world's best deviled eggs (yes, I said it again) either way you cant go wrong. But lest we forget the chips and onion dip or even the cookie. Honestly, order it all and than me later.

Love love love this place! Such a warm Cozy feel inside . Kinda like being in your house. Lovely little fireplace area with seating. Lots of little nooks to get a drink and chat with people. Great service too. It's small inside but we went on a Sunday afternoon and had the whole back area to ourselves. Which was nice. The bar area up front has seating and they have a TV for games. Little area off to the side of bar has a nice area for a group too. It's cute for a date night or a girls night or a Sunday funday drop in. Loved that a nice bar in town was open in the afternoon when so many don't open til 5 or don't open at all on sundays. We met up for a birthday drinks get together. They have a nice varied cocktail menu, with some beer and wine too. Loved the interesting creations! There's not much food just some snacks as it's primarily a cocktail bar. We tried the focaccia with hot honey pimento cheese. Delish. Drinks wise we were across the board. Negroni was spot on. El Trueno was a potent sipper. My cynar boulevardier was also strong but so good. The tasty mezcal-culations was a little sweeter than the others but another great drink. All beautifully presented and in the perfect glass for each. This place was a pleasant surprise . Definitely a go back to bar for me. Nice to have a classy place in Noda , it's walkable to other places too. Welcome to Noda !

I adore this new cocktail bar by the local mastermind Bob Peters! I expected nothing less than amazing cocktails when I visited, yet I still felt incredibly impressed by what I sipped on. Cheif's is an absolute-must stop for drinks before dinner. I'd recommend reservations right now, since it's very popular with its recent opening. Favorite sips: Rise & Grind with espresso-washed Southern Star White Whiskey; it was super silky on the palate and such a fun take on a basic espresso martini. Clarified Malted Milk Punch; it was so silky on the palate with nostalgic holiday flavors Did you know it's in a 121-year-old mill home in NoDa next to Goodyear House? So cool!

EDIT (5/27/28): When we entered and sat down, to the bartenders credit, he swiftly asked us what we wanted. As we were describing the general vibe of the drinks we wanted, the attitude of the bartender manifested as very condescending and lacking in general back-and-forth discourse. Despite the dismissive attitude, but after the drinks were made, we attempted to thank the bartender, but his only response was a derisive chortle before walking off. For the remainder of our stay, he was flirting with some female patrons at the other end of the bar. We were a walk in but were able to score a table outside which was perfect. The drinks are good and the staff members work as a team so there's not one primary waitress. I ordered a custom drink where I told the server what I liked and the bartender created something based on my likes. It was a "fruity" tequila based drink and I enjoyed it. We were given a bowl of complementary kettle corn to enjoy with our drinks. The music was a mix of r&b and hip hop and was loud enough to vibe but didn't overpower the conversations. Random Notes: Parking is validated and the hidden bathroom was so cute. The inside is perfect for selfies lol.

There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

This needs to be addressed on the FAQ page on their website, insane it isn't listed already. The drinks were the most meh drinks I've ever had. Their menu looks incredible, but the cocktails were so mediocre. Nothing special, I didn't even like my Pear Cosmo it just tasted like straight lime juice. Two of my friends got the Spicy Margarita and they tasted completely different. One was insanely spicy, the other wasn't spicy at all. Took 15 minutes for a server to come over and acknowledge and take drink orders. Seemed like lots of miscommunication on which servers had which table. As one would come over, the other would check in less than 30 seconds later. The vibe inside is cute but super strange that they didn't steam/iron the green curtains which are a big centerpiece for the room... you can see the crease marks on the curtains from where they were taken out of the package folded. Jazz band was awesome. However, for this being a lounge it was too loud. Couldn't hear the person sitting next to you talking because it was so loud. Dim lighting, leather chairs, a beautiful bar stocked to the brim with whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and all the other good things you would expect to find in a place that prides itself on great cocktails. It certainly set the mood and got us ready to have an experience. The mixologists were welcoming and informative. I enjoyed my first drink, which was suggested based on my personal preferences in taste. It was a spin off a classic, and I really enjoyed it. Sort of like a cross of a penicillin and a whiskey sour.
