The Haber Dish with fried chicken thigh, mac and cheese, dill green beans and snowflake biscuit ($19) + crispy skins (+$2)
    Sandee L.

Three words: SWEET TEA BUTTER. Slather that 'ish on everything! It came with both our biscuit and hushpuppies. YUM! There was nothing exceptional about the deviled eggs alone, but the addition of the smoked trout was a nice, unique touch. The hush puppies were hot and light and I loved the seasoned powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Weekdays, they have the Haber Dish, their lunch special, which is a steal at $19! It comes with an entree, two sides and a biscuit. I got the fried chicken, mac and cheese with the sauce and crispy skins addition, and dill green beans. The fried chicken thigh, their claim to fame, was sadly a bit dry and stringy and overly breaded. It also must have been a pretty scrawny chicken. The sides, however, were fantastic! The mac and cheese was just the right amount of creamy, the addition of the crunchy crispy skin is an absolute must! The dill green beans were cooked a perfect al dente and so flavorful. The biscuit was full of flaky layers. Sebastian was our server and he gave us very good recommendations. He was so sweet too. Super sleek steam-punky ambiance with an indoor and outdoor seating area. Street parking only. Reservations can be made online for a fee (different for lunch and dinner), but it's not credited to your bill. Walk ins accepted and we were able to get seated right away no problem around 11:30am on a Friday.

My dad enjoyed his meal more than I did. I was torn whether to leave 3 or 4 stars. I decided on 3 since I feel like the fried chicken should have been the star of the show and it was just ok. The breading was too thick for me and flavorless. The chicken itself was good. It was tender. I liked the side of the sweet potato bites. The biscuit was my favorite part. It was very yummy! It was busy so we had a short wait for 2. We came on a Sunday and the parking was very tough. It was a super busy area of town.

Haberdish offers an elevated take on Southern comfort food with a menu heavily based on fried chicken. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, featuring a great patio, a nice bar area, and an indoor dining space with a simple yet charming design. I love that it's elevated with fun silverware and plates that look just like the vintage ones you'd find at your grandparents' house! While they are widely known for their fried chicken--and both the chicken and the chicken tenders are admittedly delicious--my absolute favorite thing on the menu is actually the fried cauliflower steak. It is served with an incredible red wine jus and mushrooms, and it is a total standout. If you are looking for recommendations, here is a quick breakdown of what to try: Go-To Sides: You can't go wrong with the Brussels sprouts, mac n cheese, or the tater tots. The Cocktails: They offer really fun punch bowl cocktails that range in size for small or large groups, complete with a cool tableside punch bowl service. If you are ordering individual drinks, a friend tried the Kitten Death Metal and it was quite good, even if it wasn't my personal flavor palette. (I also tried the ginger pomegranate sangria; it was decent, but I probably wouldn't order that specific one again).

Had brunch at Haberdish in NoDa and absolutely loved it. The restaurant isn't very big, but that's part of its charm. It has a cozy indoor dining area and a cute side patio, right in the heart of NoDa. We made a reservation online for four people, which was easy and definitely recommended since reservations can be limited. They do accept walk-ins when space is available. Haberdish is known for its fried chicken, and our table tried several different options. I ordered the dark meat chicken, one friend got the two-piece white meat, another got the Nashville hot chicken, and another ordered the Haberdish Stack. Everything was delicious. For starters and sides, we shared the deviled eggs, mac and cheese with crispy chicken skin, Brussels sprouts, hush puppies, and a cinnamon roll. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic, and the hush puppies were the standout for me. They came with a sweet butter that was absolutely incredible. We also enjoyed mimosas with brunch. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it's definitely a place I'll be returning to. Next time I want to check out the dinner menu because brunch was so good. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Southern food and a fun brunch spot in NoDa.

Haberdish is one of those restaurants you leave and continue thinking about for the rest of the night. We started with the deviled eggs, so good. The tater tots and sweet potato gnocchi were absolutely incredible, and honestly, every dish we tried was memorable. The Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese are also standouts. If you're going with a group, sharing plates is definitely the move so you can try a little bit of everything. And if it's your first time visiting, the fried chicken is a must. To finish, get the banana pudding. Trust me. Our server, Sebastian (we've had him twice now), was amazing both times.. attentive, personable, and always on top of anything we needed. The atmosphere ties it all together: dim lighting, cozy vibes, and the perfect spot to settle in for elevated comfort food. A charlotte staple

Came by for dinner on a Saturday night. Really to try to their fried chicken. We were greeted and seated right away. Service was prompt and our waitress was patient with us as we scanned the menu. It was 60% full. It was a casual crowd. Fried chicken: 3.5 stars for me. I wanted to like it but it was ok. The taste and flavor was good. Just the batter was a little hard vs crispy. Champagne chicken tender: 4 stars. Better with the texture. Good flavor. Crispy Brussels sprouts:4 stars. Would have given it a 5 stars but it was so salty. We only were able to finish half and took it to go, which sadly we couldn't finish due to its saltiness. Cast iron trout: 4.5 stars. Best dish. Crispy skin. Moist meat. Just the right saltiness. Alas I hit too much food and could not finish.

This was my second time here. First time was years ago when they first opened and I came for brunch so I was pressed for mimosas so much that I don't remember the food. This go round, I got the smoked chicken with a various amount of sides. This chicken was so flavorful. Initially the waiter poured this white bbq sauce over it & I was a little skeptical But after digging in, I was thankful that he did that. Huge portion of white meat chicken, with a side of sweet potatoe dumplings & veggies. I've been craving it since I went a couple of weeks ago. The service was good & the vibe was perfect. The decorations in side & the way the building is built out is perfect and gives a vintage vibe.

I am visiting from California and do not expect good food here but still managed to be hugely disappointed. I cannot understand the good reviews. We ordered the "smoked" chicken, which tasted like boiled meat with the outside seared. The meat was dry. It was awful. It was also a very small chicken. This dish was highly recommended by our server. We also got the fried chicken. Half of it was burnt, meaning half of the same piece. How do you burn half of it? It was dry as wood chips too. I am not sure what the flavor was supposed to be since it was dry and burnt. How do you mess up chicken two ways? We also got the tater tots, which were mushy and the sweet potatoes which were a weird texture and flavor. The only dish that was decent was the Mac and cheese but it wasn't anything special. The Brussels sprouts were all leaves. Where did the rest of the sprouts go? The meal wasn't cheap and the food was really, really bad.

We ate at Haberdish for the first time today and had a wonderful brunch. The food is delicious, everything was so fresh and I felt like the flavor profiles were very thought out and intentional. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in charlotte, the biscuit was so soft and perfect, we loved the sauces we tried, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. I liked that the coffee came in a thermos so I could top myself off with hot coffee whenever I wanted. Service was great, the dishware was pretty and dining experience was very nice. (Random, but I loved the soap in the bathroom.) Everything was just very nice, I can't wait to come back again and try something new.

Love this place! It is a fancy southern menu right in the heart of Noda surrounded by tons of other stores, bars etc. The Mac n cheese is my favorite dish, along with their hush puppies. The fried chicken is always cooked to perfection but lacking some seasoning in my opinion. We also tried the pickles and they are very vinegary but crunchy! Our service was very kind and attentive. Was able to bring my dog and sit outside. 8/10 experience.

Incredible service from our waiter. He took the time to explain each dish, share his personal favorites, and walk us through the restaurant's everything made from scratch philosophy. It made the entire experience feel so thoughtful and personal. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and every dish was truly above and beyond. The fried chicken was absolutely perfect, even as someone who is not typically a fried chicken fan, I was blown away. Bonus points for the delicious cannabis cocktails, which made an already lovely dining experience even more memorable.

Amazing! My friend and I sat at the bar and the bartenders were so nice and helpful! They had great recommendations! Fried Chicken half was perfect for us two. The chicken had a good batter and crisp and chicken was juicy. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, the sauce was great and cooked to perfection. Sweet Potato Dumplings were different but SO good, nice and savory. They are comparable to a gnocchi.

    Chicken n Waffles

Biscuits & Gravy (5/5): Didn't get a picture but this was a top tier biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delicious and had plenty of sausage in it. I really liked the cayenne pepper sprinkled on top to give it a good kick. The biscuits were soft and fluffy. It'll be a tough choice for me next time between this and the Nashville Hot Chicken. Chicken waffles (3/5): Chicken was good, well fried and crispy, but the waffle was REALLY dense and hard to chew. It tasted like very compressed white bread. Go for just the fried chicken. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.
