What could have been a nightmare repair project turned into a smooth and reassuring process thanks to the team at FHS Construction. From the start, the crew was thorough in their inspection and diagnosis. They quickly identified the source of the leak and checked for hidden damage in the roof and ceilings. To prevent more water from coming in, they put up a temporary cover right away until the full repair could begin. The roof repair itself was handled professionally from top to bottom. Damaged shingles and underlayment were removed and replaced, everything was thoroughly inspected and sealed tightly to prevent future problems. Inside the bedroom, they removed water-damaged drywall and insulation, treated and cleaned areas affected by moisture and mold, and ensured the space was completely dried out before restoring it. Incompetent and careless. They did work repairing our kitchen a few years ago after mold. What they…read moresaid would be a 2 week job turned into probably 5 months. Writing this now because I just saw an outlet underneath the sink that's not at all mounted to the wall and was reminded of how ridiculous this whole ordeal was. They'd come maybe 2 times a week, maybe less, sit in the driveway and wait for each other for a while, and they'd always forget what they were supposed to do. Then they'd say "ah ya we remember now, gotta go to Home Depot" and take another 1-2 hours. The pace of work was incredibly slow. When they were redoing our kitchen, we came home and saw that the main handyman had bought cabinets for the sink that opened straight into the fridge and stove, so you could barely open them. It was on a corner, so clearly a corner / lazy Susan cabinet was needed. Delayed the job by however many days. They cracked the sink they put in, and there's carvings in the countertops from where they messed up with sloppy cutting. When they installed the AC window units, they stained the window panes, sink, and the outside of the house with the insulation foam and didn't attempt to clean it until I asked. They didn't get much up; still stained. They didn't put calking around the countertop they put in behind the sink. There were a bunch of other times where similar things happened that I had to ask them to redo it or do a part of the job they'd missed.

We went through another service to get permits, and unfortunately it was missing an entire page. Assaf and Ron worked directly with the engineer to get the page drafted, submitted to Burbank, and magically had it approved within 2 weeks, with no disruption at all to progressing the work. They completed the work within their estimated time. They also cleaned up every day. We were both able to continue working from home through the entire process. Pricing was very reasonable for the work that was done. We got about 8 quotes and theirs came right in the middle. They gave a detailed quote and there were no surprises with the payments later. Their greatest and most appreciated skill is communication. They always picked up the phone or texted/called you back within minutes. This was our first major construction project and they answered all our million questions and had the relationships with the vendors to modify items to what we were hoping for. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible.
