My brother came into town and said he was craving some fried food. Decided on trying out this restaurant with the family and I must say we were not disappointed. Since it was our first time there the wait staff was super nice and helpful with letting us know how to place our order. I ordered their shaved Tri tip sandwich, while my brother ordered their burnt ends Tri tip sandwich, and my partner wanted to try their buffalo burger. We also ordered their mozarella sticks, which were huge and delicious, as well as their sweet potato fries. Overall the atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and we will be back again to try some of the other items on their menu. read more

Cute little place. Every friendly. All the staff were wearing masks. Ordering & receiving food was confusing. Food was good. Loaded spuds were good. They had diced tomatoes on them which was odd for Texans, lol, but tasty. Chicken was good on the 2 meat plate but the turkey was odd. Again it might be the difference in regional tastes. The honey bourbon bbq sauce was really flavorful and good! The BEST thing were the Cowboy Rolls. So good we didn't get a pic of a crumb! They were similar to eggrolls & served with a sweet sauce which complimented the meat & cheese in the roll. I would go back if we were close by but skip the turkey! read more

First experience with Chiefs in Springfield was NOT good. And what was worse was the service. It is unfortunate since it is local. Would like to support it but this was just BAD all around. The Smoked BLT had one very small tomato per half, a tiny bit of shredded lettuce and was dry. Pictures show this and also show a quarter of one half with nothing but dry bread... it was empty. I also ordered and PAID for avocado, it came with none and they didn't say anything. I showed the waitress and all she did was get offended. Didn't offer any more tomatoes. Told me they didn't have any avocado, I told her I paid extra for avocado and then she brought me back $1.50. I said this is not a good sandwich, it is really poorly made as you can see. It has been long over due for me to try Chiefs Brew House out. I have been invited many times over the last few years, but have not been able to due to plans changing, or life happening, etc. I finally had the opportunity this last weekend, and they sure didn't disappoint. They have ample seating outside, and if you would like indoor plenty to go around inside. You order first at the counter before you find your seat. They have a big menu board, and also regular menus to look at. I love the feeling you get while inside. You feel like the old west. I also have childhood memories of eating in this building. Please forgive, I can't remember the name of what it was called back then. I only remember they were famous for beer cheese soup. I bet they get a lot of locals that say that, or maybe ask about it. Now for what I ordered...I had the 2 meats. Tri tip, and burnt ends, with the sweet potato fries. My guy ordered the same thing, except he had the Mac n cheese side, and chili. We also ordered the cowboy rolls which pretty much filled us up before our meal came. I would come here just for those cowboy rolls, they have a flavor out of this world. They come with a sweet chili garlic dipping sauce. The tri tip was good, and cooked to perfection. The burnt ends were really good as well. The sweet potato fries were, well...they were just sweet potato fries. Still good, but nothing to write home about. I can't say anything about the chili, or the Mac other than they looked delicious, and his word of mouth. He liked them. Their sweet bbq sauce is good, that is what we had. Great service! My husband said that these are absolutely the worst hot wings he has ever eaten! Very dry & no flavor. My margarita tasted like rubbing alcohol nasty cheap tequila maybe. They brought us more but they were equally as bad, dry & no flavor with a really odd texture, kinda gritty. We won't go back! $27 for hot wings? Worst money we ever spent. read more

Awful service, awful food, and you don't get really much of anything for what you pay for. When you walk in you order at the counter then pay before your meal as well as a tip if you want (which I did). I did not realize you bus your own table, after serving your they DO NOT follow up again, ever. My tri tip was served cold and tasted like it came out of the refrigerator I kid you not. It was kind of "grey-brown" too if you've seen meat look like that. My best friend had burnt ends, something you can order but it's still supposed to be the burnt end of brisket protein. They only gave her pieces of fat, no meat at all and the amount was about 10-12 pieces the size of nickels. Her fries looked like the end bits and she had less than what you get in a McDonalds small fry. The biggest part of both our meals WAS A SIDE DISH. The mac and cheese that tastes like noodles and mayonnaise. That's how flavorless it was. It's NOT cheesy at all and there isn't much in the way of "sauce" and trust me when I say you will need salt. The meat has no flavor, the noodles have no flavor...hell the coleslaw I had probably had the most flavor of anything on that pan. But seriously if there is no follow up, we bus our own table, the food is served cold (am I supposed to find a microwave and heat it up too?), and we order at the counter at this dine in restaurant....what is the prompt for a tip for? Tip for what? You're not doing anything. I regret coming here. I highly recommend Bill and Tim's BBQ and Taphouse in Eugene, or hell the Paper Plate BBQ food truck even has tastier stuff thank this. Worst $58 for two meals I ever spent. Maybe its a brewery because they're hoping since you're drinking you won't notice how little food you eat and that it isn't seasoned. Having sauce on the side does not make up for not seasoning meat. read more

The bbq is all on point with the house bbq sauce. The staff was all super friendly and fast as heck. I didn't care for the soup but my friend liked it. My daughter loved the fries. Son loved the Mac and cheese and wife and mother in law loved their burgers. The theme decor is wonderful with an old west meets modern cowboy style. Def coming back. read more

I had an experience tonight at Chiefs that was one of the most disrespectful experiences I've had at a restaurant in my life. We arrived at 825pm and ordered food and beer. Food got to our table around 845pm and we were among many others there. We were eating our food when they made last call at 855pm. I placed a to go order for my kids and ordered another beer. At approx 915 while still enjoying my food and second beer our to-go order arrived to our table. At this point it was only ourselves and one other table still finishing their food. At approx 9:20, only a matter of minutes after the To-go order a blonde waitress came to our table and without notice or warning picked up my half full beer and stacked it in my water cup to clean off the table. She then reached for my plate with food still on it. I stopped her from taking my plate and with food in my mouth said excuse me I'm still drinking that. She gave me a dirty look and said we are closed and I am doing the dishes. So, i pulled my beer back out of the Stacked cup that she was holding and said I do not care you do not take my drink without asking. I told her i was not finished yet and i was going to drink the rest of that beer. She again said that they are closed and she was doing dishes. At this point I was clutching the plate in one hand and the beer and the other and it was clear I was not letting go. She gave me a look and left the table. I do not understand this interaction at all. Dear Chiefs owners, i do not care if your employees would like to go home. I would like to sit and eat my food and beer in peace and enjoy my dinner without feeling pressured or as if I had done something wrong. My God, on 10 levels of disrespect. You do not take a person's food or beverage while they are actively eating and without asking and furthermore you do not stack half full beer that people are still clearly enjoying into glasses on the table just because you're ready for your night to end. We had not signaled that we were done or got up from the table to leave. I'm assuming she was under 25 years of age and had never learned a goddamn thing in her life because she knew nothing about how you treat people in life or in the food service industry. She could have asked me if i was about finished or if I would like a to go box for my food. She could have come by and give me a warning to say that they would like to close soon. But, Do not try to remove the food that I'm eating or the beer that I'm drinking while its clear that I am not finished. What in the f is wrong with her and this place. I have been coming here for years but only because I live down the street. Not because the food is great. They have the worst customer service I've ever repeatedly experienced in my life. I am so tired of it I am literally beside myself. At this point I'd almost rather just slap myself than go eat there. The Chiefs staff act as if they are providing some kind of huge favor to the community just by being open and serving overcooked food. The waitress trying to take my beer while I was drinking it and my plate of food when I had a cowboy roll dipped in the ranch is just new levels of absolute disrespect. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated I was after this experience. Please take heed to this warning.. if you choose to go there you are probably going to be disappointed. You may get acceptable service one out of every five times but once in a while you will be so angry with the way that it turns out that you will want to go home and write a nasty review on yelp. -Craig read more

Can't recommend this place to anyone! Last two times we've come to visit from out of town (2+ hrs away) we've gotten the worst service ever. The girl at the register must be related to the owner as that's the only reason I can think of for keeping her around. Absolute disdain for customers just dripping off of her. Nothing friendly about her at all in spite of the stupid, childish stickers on her face. Today we arrived just before 11am which is their posted opening time. Waited until 11:15 to head in to place an order thinking they would need time to warm up the grills. Was told "sorry we're not open yet" as the kitchen wasn't ready. If your posted hours are open at 11, shouldn't your kitchen crew be in well before that to get the kitchen ready?? The girls at the front acted as if I were crazy! What a joke! We have been wanting to try this place for years, and so happy we finally did! The bartender that was therevwas super friendly and makes a mean Mule! I had the Pendleton And Ginger Brew one, so refreshing after a 6 mile hike! I got 1/2lb Chiefs Burger, and my partner got the two meats, two sides platter. So. Much. Food! Everything tasted amazing, and that smoked tri tip was so tender and delicious! So happy we finally were able to stop in, we'll definitely be back! read more

Multiple issues with this place yesterday 9/5/21. Went in because they had a large outdoor seating area and a diverse menu. I ordered the fish & chips and my GF ordered a mushroom burger. The bad: I am certain that the cod used in my lunch was previously frozen. It was tasteless, wet (under the breading) and kind of "rubbery". The tots were seriously overcooked. I asked for extra tartar sauce to add some kind of flavor and was charged extra for it. Petty. The good: My GF liked her burger, although she ask for no onions, and of course it was loaded with onions. More bad: Although there was clearly a sign on the entrance requiring masks, they made no attempt to enforce it. Still more bad: We were sitting outside for exactly one hour. In that entire time we NEVER saw our server again after our food was delivered. This is AFTER we had to choose a tip amount when ordering, PRIOR to the complete lack of service. A beautiful restaurant with lots of comfortable seating outdoors. We will NOT be eating there again. $37 for a casual lunch. Next time we will get the same lunch at Burgerville for half the cost. read more

This place used to be called Bronco Saloon but they renamed themselves Chiefs (or merged with another place?) and as a result, my review from a while back is attached to the wrong Yelp page. So I'm pasting my review here. Despite the merge they didn't change the menu, and it's one of my favorite spots for veggie-friendly BBQ in the area. I'm a fan. Deets here: *** I see it as my role on Yelp to draw attention to vegetarian-friendly menus in the area, and for a BBQ joint, this place gets an A+. They have a vegan bratwurst that I found really satisfying (it even has some kind of edible fake casing...!?), truly delicious mac and cheese cooked just right, baked beans were as good as ever and tasted totally homemade, and several different BBQ sauces to try. My favorite was the berry BBQ sauce; the others were less smoky and rich than I might normally go for, but I can see how the tangy, bright sauce is appealing when paired with certain things. It was great having more than just one veggie option on the menu (normally it's always a veggie burger with fries and I get tired of eating the same thing everywhere). read more

We went here for lunch today and regretted it. Let's start at the beginning. You walk up to the counter to order your food but they try to make their establishment look like a fancy sit down restaurant with fancy sit down restaurant prices, way overpriced. There is 1 cash register, so it was about a 15 minute wait in line, like we were at a McDonald's. The food choices are good, with some variety. You order and pay for your food at the counter and of course they ask for a tip, when you haven't even seen how bad their service is. Took about an hour to get our horrible food. The kids in the back were too busy on their phones to worry about cooking good food. The burger patties were just frozen heated up patties and the chicken strips are better at Carl's jr. I'm the only one sitting at the bar and there's 3 workers behind the bar working. I just sat quiet and it took 10 minutes for someone to greet me, give me a menu and take my drink order. I've come here twice and it wasn't much different the first time. The food is really good, their in-house brewed beer is okay but the service is lackluster for sure, don't get me wrong... they're nice but no attention to the customer. I see a lot of standing around from employees, side conversations and non customer focused busy work. Management should do a better job at training customer focus work as a priority and everything else secondary, especially when your not busy. read more

Our mac and cheese sides came ice cold, like it was fresh outta the fridge--in retrospect, that's a possible food safety issue. Pulled pork was not hot, either, another possible food safety issue. When asked, the staff simply was not knowledgeable. They told us we couldn't order drinks from bar. They weren't apologetic about being out of staples like chicken and fries. They weren't friendly, helpful or remotely apologetic. Cash & Carry is less than five miles away (when you're slammed, you step it up and go shopping. Be ready for Father's Day and UO Graduation.) Generous to call it mediocre. Wish it was better because I'd love to like it, could be so cool, with good beer in a beautiful spot. But I can't recommend it. My friend and I had lunch at Chief's Brewhouse in Coburg last Sunday for lunch. I wanted to go there because they still had the old "Coburg Inn" classic Beer Cheese Soup on the menu that was once legendary. When I was a little girl growing up in Eugene, my family would make a special trip out there for dinner, and I always remembered how much I enjoyed that soup. But what could have been a nice experience ended up in disaster! First, the patron is asked to come in and order at the counter, and you are asked to pay for your meal and tip before you are even seated. We each ordered a blonde ale, and when our lunches were served, the soup was lukewarm and the "Texas Toast" on the side was soggy. My friend had a cup of the same soup and a small Caesar salad, but the whole meal was entirely unimpressive. The beer even tasted stale. She really tried to encourage me to send our lunches back, but we had a full agenda ahead, and the servings were rather small anyway. Luckily, she didn't touch her soup. Well, that night around 8:00 I started to vomit profusely and had diarrhea. I was seriously ill for at least three days! I couldn't keep anything down. That's when I discovered that all of my symptoms added up to food poisoning. This is the first day I have felt better after at least four days in bed. Needless to say, I do not recommend this restaurant unless you like to take chances. Unfortunately, the charm and impeccable quality of the Old Coburg Inn has been sorely lost :( read more

Stopped for our first time one the recommendation from one of the campers at the Rv resort. Drinks service and good food. The marrionberry Old Fashion 5 stars by itself. Only complaint very minor was the tots were over cooked. The mustard sauce was also 5 stars with the tri tip cooked perfectly. read more
