I went in to order food. It was busy I understand. There was a lady with her daughter at the cash register before I got there so I waited behind her. Both waitress looked at us several times but never acknowledged us. After 10 minutes standing there I left. I called to pick up food, I called at 7:13. I was asked would I hold and I said I would. Nobody ever picked up again. I was on hold until I finally hung up at 8:00 when they closed. I was on hold for 47 minutes!. Before all of this I went in and sat at a table with my boyfriend for an early lunch. The waitress was snooty and the food wasn't that good for what it cost. Good food only matters if you have service to match. I'm certain, when the restaurant was sold for so little to the current owners, he had no idea how much they hate working. Restaurants are supposed to thrive on busy, this place falls apart and the servers get really rude and negligent. Hopefully, that changes. read more

We stopped in for breakfast on a road trip. The place was clean and the two servers were friendly and welcoming. While looking at the menu we overheard the waitress telling the table next to us that her pancake was so overcooked it was tough and hard to cut through so she was having the cook make another one. We also overheard her tell another gentleman at a separate table that they were re-making his food. Then we heard the server telling the cook through the window that she needed him to "throw them back on the grill because they're clearly under cooked." The cook had a problem with this and she said to him "I'm not serving them this way" and basically told the cook to serve them to the table himself if he wasn't going to fix it. He slammed the plate down and she walked away and that sealed the deal on us not eating there. We left cash for the iced tea we had ordered and walked out. I don't know if the cook was just having a bad day, but we felt sorry for the servers for having to deal with him and for the customers who had to eat his food on this day. read more

I'll be playing the honest I just got done there not 10 minutes ago maybe it was a misunderstanding regardless how I was treated is not acceptable the misunderstanding happened around where I was intending to order the server working at the time I assume didn't fully hear me I said now I have an idea at the same time her attention was drawn to another guest entering the establishment splitting her attention she left me hanging hanging for 10 min before coming back when I was already trying to order .A misunderstanding I can see. The thing I cannot stand however is how after examining my food I know the cook did me dirty by messing with the food. Stopped in to this lil diner in Oregon. Selena greeted me with a warm friendly smile. The place has great ambiance with photos of nostalgic cars and vintage toys and Elvis album jackets on the wall. Super fun. I ordered the country fried steak and the very best fried mushrooms I've ever had. The breading was delicious and so light and airy. Service was good! The ambiance is a cute, retro throwback. We (myself and boyfriend) got two coffees, biscuits and gravy and guacamole toast for breakfast. Coffee was good for a normal drip. The biscuits and gravy was huge and delicious and I enjoyed the guac toast - perfect combo of flavors and portion size. I got a club sandwich. With coleslaw. $15.00 the coleslaw had something pour on top. Still don't know what it was but gross. The person next to me got cold coffee. After everyone was done, the waitress stood over me and put the pie right in my face.( I don't eat sugar). I just got up and went to the bathroom so she would get the pie out of my face. We should have just kept driving . Stopped by on our way north after flying into Eugene airport. We had to wait 10 minutes for it to open but so did probably 15 other "local coffee drinkers". We thought with that kind of crowd this must be the place. WRONG. 2 of the 3 orders were incorrect (wanted sausage got bacon or wanted scrambled eggs and got over easy). THANK YOU CHEFS! Y'all make a damn good Marilyn Monroe burger, their club sandwiches are AMAZING with double cheese and ham and turkey. Their tomato bisque soup is actually homemade and extremely delicious. Cheers to the woman who makes the raspberry cheesecake, it's seriously the best me and my family have ever had. Cheers to the woman who makes the berry cobbler, that is seriously to die for. Our waitress Lainey refilled our drinks without asking and had absolutely amazing customer service skills, she was super sweet. We live all the way in Dexter and WILL be back every month lol. What a perfect stop for to go breakfast. We stopped here one time and sadly missed their opening hours. I recommend checking out their Facebook page since things change so rapidly with COVID and the state of Oregon. We tried again today when we were on our way back from getting a cider filled and were so happy it was open. Best breakfast food we've had in a long time, the ladies working there were so nice, and plenty of parking around the area. This place was a salvation from the bad start of my day! First we went to the Viking. It was HORRIBLE (I reviewed that if you wanna look because yelp helps me not freak out at awful service). We walked out of the Viking food untouched and looked to see what else was open nearby, saw the 99 on the Googles and popped over, fingers crossed. It was very busy and it's not huge but we got a table right away from the friendliest darn host I love him. In fact the difference between the depressing atmosphere of one place and the lovely, bright, happy feel of the 99 was wonderful! The service was on point, I think we had four different people all making sure everyone got everything they needed. The food was great portions, and all tasty. I left wanting to die from eating far too much in a good way. Everything was fast, people were laughing, the servers seem happy to see you, the place is clean, the menu is great, and honestly it's fun. We have ate here several times and have good experiences. Last evening on the 5th of June 2021 at approximately 6:30 we had one of the worst meals one could imagine! It was like an episode off of Kitchen Nightmares. The cook was be loud and obnoxious, the food I had fish basket may have had what appeared to be a sardine size serving divided into 3 fish sticks and cooked to where I couldn't tell what it was my wife had a burger that was well burnt "not what she asked for". The waitress failed to ask how things were and dropped the check and I attempted to get her attention but she walked off. At the register I voiced my opinion which I never do and all she said was I'm sorry no attempt to even comp anything the fish and the rest of my meal was left at the table uneatable. My wife wrote in the receipt the dissatisfactions. And I advised I would call her boss. Funny thing I tried several times this morning no answer and the phone beeps and cuts off. The last two times we went to the 99 Grill in Harrisburg were very disappointing. About a month ago, my wife's breakfast was not hot, and the other two breakfasts we had were not anything better than basic. This morning we again went for breakfast and we were both disappointed. Although the meals were adequate, they were really and truly expensive. We each ordered 2 eggs, home fries, toast, plus coffee. We asked if the home fries had onion in them. The waitress explained that they did not but she would have some added if we wanted. So we added the small amount of diced onions and also ordered a half portion of breakfast sausage. These are the very small ones. We were charged $1.98 for the few onions, and $4.00 fro the tiny sausages. That came to one small sausage each. By the time we finished, a very basic breakfast came to nearly $29.00 and that did not include the tip. The service was OK, but nothing more. No friendly chatter, and really very little attention. We have recommended this establishment to at least a dozen people, and would go there on a fairly regular basis. I am reasonably certain we will not be returning. So sorry to have to write this as I know how hard it is to keep a small business running these days, but taken into account the expense, the less than spectacular meals ( it didn't used to be that way) I really felt I needed to write this. Being in the Portland metro area, it's a treat to stop in the small towns that support the agricultural lifeblood of our state. My wife had a business meeting close by and we decided to find a lunch spot for a bite before the meeting. Decided on The 99 Grill and was not disappointed! Extensive menu, breakfast all day! The food we ordered was spot on; tasty and very reasonably priced. Lilly was great as our server as well. This is mostly a spot for the locals, but we were made welcome.
