The salad was okay, not really worth $5, but the dressing was amazing. The soup was delicious and tasted best eaten first, after it say it got a. It grainy in texture and the flavor didnt go with the the dressing from the Salad. It would be. A great experience. We were on our way to the airport and decided that a meal in the airport wasn't how we wanted to begin our trip. We found Chief's on Yelp and, after, looking over the online menu, decided to give it a try. I am thrilled to report it was a wonderful decision. I has the BBQ bowl with the brisket and my friend had the Crazy Horse with cajun tater tots. We were both quite impressed with everything we consumed. All the flavors were on point. The service was great. I will definitely keep Chief's on my radar when returning to the Springfield/Eugene area. Give them a try, you won't regret it. We really like Chiefs and would actually give a 4.5 if possible. The staff is friendly, the wrap around porch is adorable, and the burgers, philly cheese steaks, and onion rings are awesome. My husband also really loves the pulled pork (which is not something that I personally like but he assured me is really good.) As a fry lover I wish Chiefs fries were better. Most the time they taste freezer burned and mushy. I know that seems like a small thing, but I live for French fries and to be honest it's hard to find good ones anymore. Especially skinny fries! I also wish they had better side salads and a side veggie or something. But I guess people aren't really going there for healthy fair anyways. read more

Well, I'm sorry to say that I haven't had their BBQ for a while and when we decided to come out I was really excited. I order the two meat dishes asked for burnt ends and pulled pork we waited for almost an hour before the brought or food then didn't know who's it's was. When I got it I about died. What they called burnt end was nothing more then sliced up brisket that was put under be Broiler and the pulled pork so dry the mac and cheese was good but the rest was almost as bad as the other place in the wall so disappointing read more

I ordered the Geronimo sandwich and deep fried macaroni. It was quite possibly the most unpleasant sandwich experience I have ever had. The 'toasted sourdough' was basically soggy wonderbread. The 'thousand island' dressing tasted like pure mayo and was copious to say the least. The onions were raw and there were way too many were jammed in there in what I'm assuming was a desperate attempt at adding flavor. We have gone to Chiefs for years now and loved it. However, we have not been now since November. We had a rare date night, invited another couple and went there for dinner. Our service was great but my husband had to send his burger back twice as it was only supposed to be a bacon cheeseburger, plain and dry. The 3rd time we got it back it still had pickles and the wrong cheese and it was very clear that everything each time was just scraped off the bun and burger. We gave up at that point and had asked to talk to a manger. 30 min later I asked our server if the manager was coming and he said that "she said she's busy upstairs with paperwork but I'll tell her you're still waiting". She never came nearly 45 min later. This experience left a really sour taste in my mouth feeling not important enough as a long time customer and that the manager could care less. I love supporting local but after this experience when i also messaged them on social media AND emailed them, I never heard a peep back. read more

On March 3, 8 ladies went to Chiefs for a surprise birthday party. We ordered at the counter and I paid with a credit card. I didn't check my receipt until after I came home and noticed that an 18% gratuity was added ( I have no issue with that) and usual gratuity standard for groups of 6+ there is that automatic charge. I was handed their iPad to sign for my purchase and added my gratuity. My issue is if they are going to do that, let the customer know it was already added. Very bad business practice by this restaurant. I called and spoke with Dillon (female) and the owner's name is Matt. Dillon asked what i wanted her to do about it and I said please let the customer know that the gratuity was already added!!! Total gratuity was almost 40%. Shame of Chiefs! read more

We asked if we could join two tables of four together. We were told NO. So we cramped in to a table for 6 with the two youngest children sitting on laps. Ordered takeout from Chiefs, I love the new location in the Old Coburg inn. The new decor is great. They did not charge extra food r the takeout. I used my Yelp app to find the best burger in Eugene because we were in the mood for one today and yelp took us to Coburg. It didn't take us long to choose our burgers. I had the Crazy Horse burger. It was a very good burger, well cooked, and juicy. The Fries on the other hand we're not as crispy as normal. I would say more soggy than crispy. We also had the BLT which was very delicious as well, but same issues with fries. We enjoyed the new location, a lot more room. However, when we went for lunch on Saturday 8/28 I saw none of the staff wearing masks and I couldn't find any signs asking customers to wear masks.
