The maitre d was especially gracious as we missed our reservation the previous night and allowed us to dine here today! He did an excellent job describing each dish in english too! The presentation was very creative and beautiful to the eye. I would recommend visiting this restaurant - if you're in Madrid well worth eating here.

The service is not great (but better than their Gran Via location) but the portion sizes and the food certainly more than make-up for it. The portions are enormous! So be careful when ordering - you might just order double what you can eat - it's not really a big problem though because you can just ask to take it to go. They have no problem giving you take out boxes unlike other spots in Madrid. The chicken is their most-ordered dish and it is delicious! It comes with a side of salad, french fries, and two delicious spicy sauces. A large group could eat here very cheaply. All the dishes i've tried here have been great - from the appetizers to the desserts. Sometimes we just sneak in to have one of their huge portions of chocolate cake. It is rich and always cures my sugar cravings. They have all kinds of cakes and pies and vary depending on the day and time of day. If you can get over their lack of customer service, you will certainly be a very happy diner here. I forgot to mention they have delicious smoothies, try one!

An affordable Michelin-starred restaurant in Madrid!…read more Bacira, like many Spanish restaurants, has a menú del día for weekday lunches, and this one is easily one of my favorite dining experiences. Any menu would usually offer 2-4 options each of beverage (wine), starter, main meal, and dessert. Everything was meticulously presented from start to finish. The homemade ceviche was tart yet subtly sweet. The starter was the only mild disappointment since it was only a crab-and-avocado sushi. My main dish of salmon with pureed potatoes was delightful. The salmon was cooked grilled to medium rare, extremely tender with every bite. I cleaned the plate clean with my bread to soak up every bit of the pureed potato sauce. The dessert was a lemon tart uniquely made with meringue shards on top and dusted with powdered sugar. The restaurant itself is Spanish-Asian fusion with rustic wooden chairs and industrial lighting (see photos). Service was friendly and efficient, and my waitress was patient with me as I placed my order in middle school-level Spanish. I would absolutely return here the next time I'm in Madrid to catch another meal!
