I didn't take a lot of notes on this stay. My notes literally read "5 stars. Quiet, great location,…read morefriendly staff." I think that says it all, really. Stay here if you desire to be near Melbourne but not in Melbourne.

Yeah, as I mentioned, it is a suburban pub, so I wouldn't expect too much from it, and of course there does happen to be a pokies room that, annoyingly, is right next to the bistro (a pet hate of mine), however, in the end, the pub turned out to not be all that bad, and in a way, I found that the service was actually pretty good, and atmosphere not too bad either.
It's your classic pokies club with family bistro attached. On a Tuesday night - around 8pm for…read moredinner - it's empty. It's clean enough but fairly typical club decor: unremarkable. Staff are polite and helpful. The bistros a little too close to the pokie machines for my liking but tonight it's no issue. I went for the steak and seafood special. My partner, the Parma. My steak was a little over cooked but the sauce was good. I liked the Parma. It's ok here.

As i tried to go in as usual the security guard has told me people have to leave there bags at the front counter or i cant go in. I pointed out that someone else had a backpack. I sent a message to the lynbrook hotel on there webpage and an email to there email address about never being forced to put my bag at reception in all my years of travel and going to numerous tabs only to get no response at all. They just completely ignored the complaint and cant even answer a simple question if people can take bags in. Dont go to this place they dont know how to run a hotel.
This seems to be a go to for any family events held as most of my family live out that way as to…read morewhy we continue to go there baffles me. $29.90 for an all you can eat buffet, now I realise you do not expect fantastic food, I also realise the point is to eat and eat and eat. I can eat there is no doubt about that but I enjoy eating reasonably nice food. Moral of this story, I feel it is time I make my family choose a different go to for family events! All the food is soggy and tastes the same, salty but the same. 80% of the food is deep fried crap and the other 20% is just plain upsetting! The slight saving grace is the dessert bar but really you are bound to get a few dessert selections right! I totally understand the appeal for families, kids play room, pay at the start, eat all you want. I personally would rather pay $30 for a nice meal without screaming kids running around. But hey they are doing something right as they are booked out pretty much all the time but the city snob in me thinks maybe this is the norm for food in the burbs?

The staff are very friendly polite and kind. There's a free breakfast buffet from 7 am and it was quite delicious. Eggs, meats, waffles, cereal, oatmeal and a nice variety of fruits and yoghurt as well. Across the street is a mall with a food court, Coles and Woolworths for groceries and even a movie theatre. The room itself is small and minimally furnished but everything worked well and the tv had many channels unlike some of the hotels I've stayed at by the famous wharf in Melbourne

Okay, it is certainly not one of the easiest pubs to get to, at least by public transport, so it is probably one that you should visit if you happen to live in the area. However, there is still some charm about it, despite it being your typical modern pub.
