It was date night and we had tried this restaurant before and wanted to give it another shot. It's located in a strip mall and if busy, parking might be an issue due to its location. When you walk in you order at the register. I ordered a quesadilla with suadero and a taco if asada. Mother of Cashew had a nice and cold margarita, corn in a cup and taco of carne asada. The restrooms are located next to the pick up station and they are very interesting (see picture). You pick up your food and can add one of the 3 salsa in the same place. The cheese was very good on the quesadilla yet same size as the taco which was also taste. The margarita was frozen and helped in a hot day. The customer service was happy and the food was quickly prepared. If you are in the area, its a good stop other than portion size on some items. read more

Went for the hype, stayed for the quesadillas and tacos. Restaurants that narrow their focus to what they do best rarely disappoint, and Chilangos is no exception. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is unmistakable. The bold red, white, and black interior feels like a subtle nod to Coca-Cola branding, but the real standout is a clever wall installation--backlit lime green and orange Jarritos bottles that double as a playful homage and a striking design element. Loud music, galvanized steel tables, and utilitarian chairs complete the lively taqueria atmosphere. I came for the tacos and stayed for the quesadillas. Both are exceptionally well executed, but the true star of the menu is the handmade corn tortilla quesadillas. They're substantial without being overwhelming, generously filled with melty cheese and your choice of protein. I went with carne asada and barbacoa. The carne asada was deeply flavorful, generously cut, and packed into the quesadilla with onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. The barbacoa was equally impressive--juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. There's also a salsa bar with three varieties and grilled peppers; the green salsa stood out, thick and unapologetically spicy. The tacos were excellent, but make no mistake--this is a quesadilla destination, even for someone who doesn't usually order them. But, if that's not your thing. The tacos slap also! Let's Talk Tacos!!! Chilangos is a fun Taco Shop with many locations in the DFW area. It's bold Red and Gold colors are inviting and warm, giving vibes of taqueria meets burger dive. The staff is friendly and the menu is full of classics. Chilangos offers tacos in your choice of flour or corn, heavier on beef & pork options with a chicken spinkled in for diversity. You can also find, quesadillas, elotes, churros, and fresh Jamaica & horchata to round things out. Popi and I decide to order for lunch and ended up doing dinner too! The star is without a doubt to Barbacoa! Juicy and a little fatty, you could wedge this meat between shoe leather and it would tasting AMAZING! The Chorizo and Suadero were also really good. The chicken & steak quesadillas were ok. Just not as flavorful as the above mentioned. The queso was thick and rich, the elotes creamy and robust. A layout similar to In N Out Burger, with a fairly simple, straightforward menu and ambiance. They assemble the food basically right in front of you cafeteria style once its your turn to get your food. They crank up the music quite loud in this place. Its kinda to have a conversation, regardless of where you are in the restaurant. Great chips and queso. I would easily order this again, although I will say the queso gets cold a lot quicker than I would like. The tacos were good, but I thought they lacked the kind of heart and soul that I see from some of my favorite taquerias in town. It does seem like they make their own corn tortillas. I think my favorite was the dorado? Taco and their ribeye taco, even if it's the most expensive. By no means are the tacos bad, but I feel the appeal of coming here is getting tacos as close as possible to the streets of Mexico City. Especially with the prices they are charging. The hot sauce (penche) is actually hot with good flavor. Use it wisely though, as there didn't ladles make it easy to pour too much. The elote they use is canned corn. Not roasted at all. Of course the mayo sour cream and queso fresco were the best part. Close to the end, it does end up fairly soupy. I don't like that they use plastic linings for the meat trays. I get that it makes it easier for clean up, but I can't help thinking about the microplastics that are infusing into my food. I know this isn't the only place that does it, but not every taqueria does it. Overall, Im not opposed to coming here, but it wont be my top pick. It doesn't help that their locations arent close to me, so its harder to justify making a trip out here. read more

Tacos were so good! And the service is also very good. The menu is small but I like that. The location is much smaller than Dallas but luckily no wait. I want to come back to try the margaritas soon! Do not leave without trying the churros! Amazing! read more

5/10. Decent and definitely some tacos that look amazing for the gram. It's one of those location where you come to get a good "authentic taco " picture ...But the flavor was not there unfortunately. Now the original in harry Hines is still good(7/10). This new location is just not there. Dallas isn't known for amazing tacos but for the hype this location got - someone even said as good as Cali tacos... HUGE miss! Not close. The pastor tacos were solid but nothing to brag. The ribeye were good but again something you can make at home with better quality. Salsa Verda in this area still has more option and better flavors in my opinion. I ask myself, will Dallas ever have a great taco location? So far there is no 8.5 rating. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Got two beef tacos on corn tortillas. Goodness. Perfect size for a lite lunch. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Seating inside but I took food to go. I will return and look forward to trying some of the sauces. read more

Went on a Friday right before the lunch rush. Food came out pretty fast and the boxes are a nice touch for to go orders. I had the quesadilla and fish taco. I would say the fish taco was really good it was a fried fish and I loved the cheese in the quesadilla. The reason for the 4 stars is that they only have one size of drinks and the table/chairs are too big for the small dining. read more

Aesthetic is decent reminds me of those viral taquerias from Mexico City but that's were it ends. Overpriced and underwhelming. This is quite a premium price compared to other taquerias but the offer is underwhelming, there is nothing extraordinary or fantastic about the taste. I found the size also quite small, the tortillas super greasy, nothing special about the meat or salsas. read more
