Most of the staff are great people. some not so much. leadership doesn't care about kids.

I wouldn't recommend this daycare. My daughter was in child care since a young age and had always enjoyed going to school until we made the transition to this daycare after moving back to Abilene. On top of that, when our family received military orders to a different state we had to withdraw my daughter. We completed the necessary notice and paid the prorated rate previously agreed on. A week after paying the prorated rate they charged our account an additional $550. After multiple calls we finally made contact to see why a charge was made to the account and they forgot to cancel the auto draft. It's been two weeks since we've been able to get ahold of someone to get the money back to our account before we make the move states away- although knowing this it seems like we've been getting the run around for a mistake they made. Mistakes happen but to avoid us for two weeks sitting on $550 is not okay. We have yet to get a response back via phone call, email, voicemail etc not even just having the decency to explain what's going on. We move in a few days and have yet to be refunded. The lack of communication has been consistent from day one but this has crossed the line and reflects their lack of professionalism. read more

This place is great. When my child first started I was hesitant and scared the place was so big and I seen so many faces. After awhile I began to realize all those face I seen stayed and they were all very happy and friendly people. My child LOVE the teachers she had as well as I. They did great at teaching my child and prepairing her for school. As a parent it was comforting to know that the ones caring for your child has a true love for them. The only reason we are no longer there is because we moved. I've yet to find the same in the new town we are now in. This is my first review ever on any place but I feel that I should share how amazing the staff is at this place. read more

My child suffered a potentially life-threatening chemical burn while in the infant room at Pioneer Drive Child Development Center. The childcare workers sprayed the changing table down with a cleaning solution (we found out later the cleaning lady had incorrectly diluted the solution, as well, which made it significantly more damaging to her skin) and laid my daughter in the solution to change her diaper. The solution soaked into her clothes, which continued the burning process until we got her home and found the burn hours later. The daycare is legally required to keep a Material Safety Data Sheet on all chemicals in the building, which list what to do in case of contact. PDCDC failed to provide the MSDS sheet, did not know what the chemical was, who mixed it, how she came into contact with it, etc for several hours after the incident. Mistakes happen, but my daughter suffered significant injury because of their ridiculous negligence. Prior to that incident, my daughter was left in their care without any of our personal information. I enrolled my daughter in May, paid over $1,000 in fees to hold her place in the class, and then was informed after her first day in their care that they lost all my paperwork. Meaning, if there was an emergency, they had no way to get a hold of me. They didn't even know my name, where I work, or anything. Furthermore, my debit card was repeatedly charged over a 6-week period until the PDCDC completely maxed out my account. During our short time at Pioneer Drive, Athena lied to me repeatedly and lost our paperwork. Tanner was just a wildly unpleasant person to deal with, and was continually rude to my family. Then when my daughter was burned, I went into the office to inform them that we would be withdrawing my daughter immediately, the director Pam C screamed at me, called me a liar, told me I would be responsible for a month's tuition, and threatened to sue me. I would not wish my experience at Pioneer Drive on anyone. read more

I had a terrible experience with Pioneer Drive Child Development Center. My son was in the infant room and the care he received was awful. It all began with the daily infant reports they were supposed to fill out. I had asked them to fill them out properly so that I could have a better understanding of how my child's day went and that seemed to be too difficult. I told them I wanted my baby to be fed at least every 5 hours but not go past 5 hours for a feeding. I got a call one day from the daycare stating my son had been crying for 30 minutes hungry but they hadn't fed him because they thought they needed permission to. On another day, my baby was fed a 6 oz bottle at 9:20 am and was not fed again until 5 pm! Both of my children were dismissed due to their facility feeling "as if they could not please me". However, I feel that to be untrue. There had been issues in my youngest sons room that we felt we needed to address for the well being of our child. We spoke with Tanner multiple times trying to resolve the issue. I'm unsure how their facility feels "as if they could not please me", all we asked for was proper care for our child. We began to call the office to ensure that our son was fed. From what I can gather, our worry led to an annoyance to the staff leading to our dismissal. For the month of August we paid $1,058.00 for childcare to the CDC for 12 days of care. I asked for our money back but they refused to refund me.
