But today, we've waited for 15 minutes past our appt time without notice.. only to find out the therapist isnt feeling well. My first impression of this facility was the horrid smell it has in the noontime, besides the bad smell the front office staff are very unorganized. They scheduled me for an appointment at 11am when I showed up they changed the time to 10 am and were unable to see my kid. Not only that they also marked the appointment as a no show when I clearly was there. They don't send out reminder calls or text messages of up coming appointments. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of their patients, I'm a first time mom and new to speech therapy. I felt very overlooked and uncomfortable. I am aware there is a high demand for services and not enough staff. The issue comes when I am being lied to, miscommunication, and lack of knowledge by staff. They can careless about your children and will not follow up on referrals. I have to call back to back just to speak to someone. I can't even speak on their appointment system because I can't even get past the evaluation phase. If you care about your kids take them somewhere else. My child has been going to Childrens Rehabilitation Center in Redlands, CA for over a year now. I have noticed so many improvements with the help of PT, OT, and ST offered at this location. It makes it easy that this location offers all three therapies my child needs. I don't have to drive to multiple locations like we had to do in the past for therapies. Athena, Michaela, Melissa, and Samantha are the receptionist all very kind and helpful. Before I finish writing my child's name on the clipboard one of them tells me my child is all checked in. Makes us feel welcomed knowing they take the time to learn names. The location does enforce 5 minute rule which indicates if you're late to your appointment by 5 minutes your appointment must to be rescheduled. Therapist don't run late and parents can be in and out. I can't express how thankful I am for this rule. Parents have the option to enter the session with their child, or wait. The therapist who the appointment is scheduled with call the client themself, parents are always able to see who their child will be with for the session. If the parent chooses not to enter the session and allows the child to attend the session on their own the therapist provides a verbal summary of what the client worked on during the session at the end of each session. My child and I enjoy having multiple therapist . Helps us both experience different teaching styles and techniques which helps keep things fun. However, if a client does have a preferred therapist, they can be scheduled with that particular therapist, front desk does a good job with scheduling. Just a few of my child's favorites consist of Danielle PT, Aubrianne PT, Ed PT, Lilian OT, Carla OT, Mrs. Goretti ST, and Savana ST. There's more but these are the main ones my child gravitates towards. PT, and OT; Therapist ask the clients if they want to remove their shoes before entering the play area helps clients feel comfortable. Removing of the shoes is not required. It's up to the client. As a parent I find it helpful because they teach how to remove and place shoes on and promote independence. ST; Therapist promote and encourage expression, and vocalization. When my child prefers to be quiet for a session they don't push. They provide options like pointing, sign language, cards, pictures to communicate. If the child doesn't know sign language they assist in teaching. I would say about 50% of staff know English and Spanish which is a plus in my opinion. Ghetto!!!!!!! & unprofessional! Had my daughter down for 6 different therapist! My second visit the staff member was arguing with a mom when they were in the wrong! The scheduling sucks!! My daughters first appointment we showed up and they said she was scheduled! When I had just called 3 days prior to confirm her appointment. So I told her I called to confirm and she's like well I do have one now which was the same time my daughter was scheduled for. So we're waiting and 20 min passed we finally got called in the back for a 5 min session nothing! The therapist told me they told her late we were wait so by then we had no time left! It was time for her next client! That was my daughters first and last day there! They also had her schedule for days I didn't know about they didn't ask me if the days were ok or anything the therapist to me I was scheduled I was like that's news to me because I was told they would tell me her next appointment at her first visit. I will give an honest review . my children are current patients here , the therapists have worked well with my children and from what i see the staffing of therapists are very diverse. They are well trained and it would appear to me that they enjoy their jobs and enjoy the children! I have never noticed any awful smell in the office that someone said in one review . you must remember that alot of the kids are special needs kids , if a child had an incontinent episode an odor could linger but the office does not smell bad in my opinion. Ive ran into some issues with scheduling, and misinformation in regards to my daughters speech therapy from individuals at the front. I cant say that they have been rude to me though even when i got attitudy about misinformation given to me resulting in a lapse in my kids ST .... lapses with therapy can be detrimental to this population of kids so im sure as a parent my frustration was justified. overall i am not unhappy with the service they provide and i would refer other parents here. the positives do outweigh the negatives. Im sure the ladies in the front are doing their best the office is always busy , i cannot place blame for the miscommunication on all of them because it was one specific person who didnt know what the heck she was talking about. This facility is so unprofessional. Their receptionist Amber is always rude when I try to schedule an appointment that they rescheduled in the first place. They put the appointment out weeks for their mistake. I take my daughter's therapy very seriously, but they make it harder on you to get proper care for your children. My son has been going here for almost 2 years now for PT and OT and has made tremendous strides. They've worked on his sensory issues, food therapy, fine motor skills and everything in between. Admittedly it can be difficult to reach the front desk but every time I park to them they're polite and beyond helpful. My son loves going to what he calls the indoor playground and they make therapy fun for him. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs therapy for their child. The book way to many children so you can hardly get appointments, when the schedule opens they won't answer the phones and then it'll be booked for the next month when you call the next day. My 4 year old just started speech therapy here about a month ago with Mr. Micheal and she is making great improvements in such little time. She was evaluated by Ms. Julie, she was answered all my questions and very informative. Although it is through Zoom, she enjoys the interaction and games that are related to the sessions. Mr. Micheal makes it very fun and keeps her entertained. I spoke to the front desk a couple of times and had to adjust some appointments and they were very helpful and accommodating, especially Adan.
