Dr. Jay Rodgers is the owner, and he has a team of nice and skillful hygienists and technicians. I have been happy with my hygienist Hallie, who's very kind, skillful, and accommodating. She has excellent memories of what I like and don't like, making each appointment pleasant and successful. I have been waiting for some dental work to be done by Dr. Rodgers before I write a review. Now is the time! I used to think that Dr. Rodgers was a person of no-nonsense. Every time he would quickly check my teeth, recommended what needs to be done, and then hurried into another patient's room. However, I found out from the recent experience that he is actually very kind and compassionate, and is also very respectful of my choices. The dental work was pretty "complicated", which involved removal of an old crown that was done by another dental practice years ago, but it was not done right back then, and he detected decay developed inside. He would then install two new crowns, one to the adjacent tooth that was prepared by another practice a long time ago. There was an old filling to be replaced as well. I called Dr. Rodgers' office with questions, one of his receptionists, Dianka, is always very nice and helpful, she had Dr. Rodgers call me back after his appointments. He called me back and spent 15 minutes patiently answering all my questions and explaining everything that needed to be done. I was impressed. The dental work involved 3 appointments, with the second appointment being the main one and was the longest, like 2 to 3 hours long, with breaks. Dr. Rodger's assistant, Erika, was very kind and professional too. Dr, Rodger was(is) very skillful, professional, and kind, and actually checked on me several times to make sure that I was doing fine and comfortable. His chair-side manners were just excellent. Although dental work is no fun to be sure, I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. I could even eat an hour later! The most important thing is, the crowns look so good and natural that even my husband and daughter could not tell which ones were crowns. They both guessed the canine. No, that was wrong. I am so happy with the results! I will not hesitate to see Dr. Rodgers and his team for future dental work. Next time, I will not be losing any sleep before the appointments, as I know that I am in good hands!

I always felt at ease at this practice. Dr. Rodgers is the only dentist there and he is the owner. He has a great team of hygienists, who are all very friendly and professional. My hygienist is always very prompt, thorough, and makes sure that I leave the clinic with a shiny smile. Whenever Dr. Rodgers checked on my teeth, he has been very professional and informative. I felt fortunate every time he (and my previous dentists) marveled at me still having all 32 teeth without any cavities. About a year ago, I accidentally bit very hard on a bone and one of my lower front teeth became loose, which I could wiggle it with my fingers. I thought the tooth would come off and I went to see Dr. Rodgers on an emergency basis. Surprisingly, he told me not to worry about it after checking on the tooth. He is right - a year later, my tooth still sits tightly in its socket and is now back to normal. I like the overall experience at Northbrook Dental Care, and highly recommend it.

I've been looking for a new dentist for a long time after so many bad experiences elsewhere. I have…read morea lot of dental anxiety due to a legit psychotic dentist when I was a kid/teen who lied to me on multiple occasions and claimed I had 23 cavities (no other dentist in the 20 years since then has been able to find those 23 cavities that I allegedly have, btw. I have only had 1 cavity in my entire life up until this year). That dentist also gave me a filling I didn't actually need, because she was like "oh turns out this isn't a cavity, it was just a stain. Oops!" after she started drilling. I also have brutal TMD that can sometimes lead to multi-day migraines after a routine visit, so I've been putting it off for an embarrassingly long time. I have been emailing different dentists for several years trying to find one who would let me do things on my terms (i.e., let me come in for a cleaning to ease myself back into it, but not get xrays during that visit, because that's what has caused my extreme migraines in the past). Everyone said no, except for Savin. I was impressed by the positive reviews on Yelp and Google, so, I bit the bullet and figured I'd finally come in for a very overdue cleaning and exam. Fortunately, I had a great experience here. I saw Dr. Evy, who is super nice. She did my cleaning and checked in frequently to make sure I was doing okay. I ended up having 2 cavities, which honestly I expected much worse given how long it's been. She filled them earlier this week, and it wasn't as traumatizing as I expected it to be :) She even managed to fill one on my upper wisdom tooth, which is super hard to reach, so that's impressive. I had to come back a few days later for one to be filed down a bit because I was too numb to be able to tell if it was too high, and she fit me in quickly and took care of it. And, so no migraines after any visit, which is a relief. The front desk staff are super nice as well -- very friendly, seem to genuinely be happy to be there (even at 7:30 in the morning), and extremely helpful. The hygienists/assistants who helped out with both my cleaning and filling visits were great as well. I'm super relieved to have found a dentist office that doesn't make me overly dread coming in. They're also setting me up with a TMD nightguard, so I'm hoping that'll help with that, too.

The dentist was pretty appalling, ive never had a dentist ask if im brushing my sleeping baby after night breast feedings. Like, how am I supposed to get my baby up and brush his teeth after every night feeding while hes half asleep. Absolutely ridiculous. Received an invoice for $140 2 months later that was never spoken about or agreed on. The lady on the phone was so sweet and said I signed over "care and services" when I signed my hipaa forms and basically too bad.

They showed great professionalism and care in how they went about conducting diagnostic procedures for my issue. Dr. Gilbert is nothing short of fantastic. He asked very focused questions, and gave me excellent advice. He actually concluded that my problem is dental, not orthodontal. Not only did he not try to sell me any services, he refused my offer to pay for this comprehensive introductory examination that was so instructive for me. (Dr Gilbert has a policy of not charging for first visits.) You cannot go wrong with Dr Gilbert. He is simply outstanding.

Odontophobia has not gone away. It'll never go away- I promise!…read more So I was taking my morning meds, and a gummy vitamin pulled off my crown. Panic set in! I inspected the crown and it didn't look damaged. (Props to my former work friend's husband. Not a former friend, just a friend who is now retired. Anyway, her husband created the crown). Luckily, they were able to cement the crown back on, and I just have to lay off the hot bevs, crispy crunchies, and sticky caramels for 24 hours. And then, and then -- I'm going to guzzle hot java, eat crunchy toffee and carrots and ice cubes. JK, JK. See y'all in a few months.
