Super friendly, very relaxing-my kids and I all came here on the same day and I was very happy to have us all at the same dentist office. We will be back-sadly because the cavities force us to be back but happily as we liked the place a lot!! Getting braces for my son and we get to do that here as well. Long overdue review. This place is awful. Once the practice was sold to the current owners it totally changed. I was suspect when my daughter came back from her check up and she told me she had three cavities filled. She said they were so small she didn't need to be numbed. She is my kid that never has cavities. I went for my check up and guess what.... I had three cavities too. I never scheduled the fillings. I set up a new appointment with a different dentist and guess what... no cavities found! Shame on you people!!!!! You ripped my daughter off and you tried to do the same to me. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I highly recommend Dr. Schwab! I've seen several dentists in many countries, and I assure you Dr. Schwab is highly capacitated. As a plus, he loves technology! Therefore, you can rest assure, he will be using the best techniques and materials available for your specific needs. Very caring and very knowledgeable. They take themselves too seriously. I don't normally like to leave bad reviews, but I feel the need to share because others seem to be having similar experiences with front desk staff. The doctor and hygienist staff are always nice and very professional. Operationally, and from a human perspective, this place is too big for their britches. I had to reschedule an appointment a few times last year because I was solo parenting 3 small kids and the sole breadwinner in a demanding job, while my husband fought cancer. They knew this because they sent him a card at one point (thanks!) but were just assholes to me. They gave me a hard time on the phone about appointment that I broke down crying. I felt like such an idiot. The other times they were just rude and not nice. I'm not an overly sensitive person, by the way. They seem solely interested in money, which is strange because I asked for ortho multiple times and they never moved me forward in that process. Time to find a new dentist... read more

Dr. Amiran is a patient's dream. First, she is a highly skilled dentist, and I always felt 100% at ease sitting in her chair through extractions, implants, fillings, you name it! While most people dread going to the dentist, I would look forward to seeing Dr. Amiran because I trusted her expertise 100%, and knew I was in good hands. She is highly skilled, but she also has a wonderful way of explaining every procedure in detail and answering questions or addressing doubts. She is patient, very willing to talk you through her thought process and recommendations, and thorough and pleasant with all her explanations. Because I move a lot, I have had several dentists in my lifetime, and it has become clear to me in the past two years of working with Dr. Amiran that she has more brains in her head than all seven of my other dentists combined. I once asked her how dentists can vary so much in their skill...after all, didn't they all have to pass dental school and know how to do the same things? I never thought about it this way, but Dr. Amiran said that the best dentists always keep improving, always keep learning new procedures and studying with the best in their field...and she does all that! Count on her to be at the top of her game. Finally, to sum up what is now becoming a bit of a love-letter of a review....when I was pregnant, the first midwife I went to was a nightmare. Shortly after my appointment with her, I had a dental appointment with Dr. Amiran. I joked (although I was half-serious!) that I'd rather have my DENTIST, Dr. Amiran, deliver my baby, than that midwife! Dr. Amiran's response? "Funny story, I actually DID deliver a baby once...." My family has been patients at this practice for several years. Dating back to when it was Highland Park dental. The last 2-3 Years every time we have a cleaning appointment scheduled the office calls 1 or 2 days before to change the day or time of the appointment. Many times they leave a message changing the appointment without speaking directly to anyone in the household. This last go Round with rescheduling was ridiculous. Rosa in the office apologizes and giggles about the multiple changes but the fact is busy high schoolers have very little free time. Finally after multiple changes one of my daughters was seen. The other was rescheduled once again with another day before phone call. She shows up at her newly appointed time only to be told by Rosa "we have a quick meeting, have seat we will get to you". 20 minutes later I come in and ask Rosa why she called the day before to change the appointment time. She replied that I must have misunderstood her. Honestly, we had an entire conversation where she laughed and apologized for making another change. There was no misunderstanding just very unprofessional behavior on her part. There are thousands of dental offices around. No need to see one that is completely disrespectful of your time. An additional side note, parking is terrible at this building. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere for hassle free dental appointments! We are moving on!! read more

Fantastic! The best dental office I've ever been to. Was an easy 30 min drive from Evanston & totally worth it. Extremely friendly & comfort environment, which I think is hard to achieve being a dental office. I had a general cleaning /check up & was the easiest, comfort & enjoyable process. DO NOT GO HERE! I had been a patient here for probably close to 15 years, and I had come in for my 6 month cleaning and I was refused the basic service of cleaning my teeth because these money hungry employees insisted I needed a "deep clean". I brush my teeth twice a day and floss, and my teeth do not look or feel bad in anyway, and I take good care of my mouth. I found out by my insurance rep I am entitled to whatever my insurance will cover, even the most basic cleaning. They wanted me to spend an extra $130 dollars on top of what insurance would already be paying them for my cleaning and an "estimate person" joined the hygienist and dentist to try force me to do this. I politely asked if I could just get the basic insurance covered cleaning for today and they refused rudely and I had to leave. I feel disrespected and disgusted by these people!! read more

Dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and the office staff have been kind, considerate, easy to deal with, transparent on insurance issues, zero problems in dealing with records transfers from the East Coast and most important great at taking care of mine and my family's teeth. I moved to Minnesota last summer. Went to a new dentist for checkup and eventually some significant work done. I filled out forms to release me records from the Smile group but they still refused to send my records, including X-rays to the new dentist. Why would they do that? The X-rays were fairly recent and would have saved me the cost of new X-rays. Disappointed if that is "competitive" behavior. I moved. I had no choice! read more

I've been going here for a few years and haven't had any issue with the dental care, which is probably most important. BUT - check your bills. Every time I go here I am billed for seeing Dr. Assadi who is a "premier" dentist so my insurance doesn't cover as much. The problem is that I see Dr. Fisher or Dr. Amiran and they are not "premier" dentists. After every visit I am billed for seeing the more expensive dentist and I have to call the office and explain the situation over and over again. They claim it is a mistake and they fix it on their end, but the mistake keeps repeating itself. I shouldn't have to dispute my bill each time I go in for basic preventative care. It may be an honest mistake. The dentists and hygienists are all fine, no issues there. read more

I moved to America from England a few years ago (no jokes about our teeth please...haha) and have visited a few dentists here trying to find the right one. I had the same family dentist in England since i was a child. I loved this place. First thing i noticed was how clean, bright and spacious it was. I really liked the receptionist, Kasha. She took me on a 'tour' which basically consisted of circling the reception area but i thought it was very cool that they do that anyway. They even have a cute little play area for kids. The dential hygienist was lovely too (Debbie?). She made my visit very comfortable. She answered all my questions and explained everything she was going to do. What i also liked is that she told me about a service they recommend but then mentioned that it may not be covered by insurance and then told me the price and said it was optional. I appreciated her being upfront and transparent. The dentist was lovely too. He explained everything, answered all my questions even when they went off topic a bit (I ended up asking him about my daughter's teeth too). I also didn't have my insurance information with me so they said they would happily refund the appt fee if i just called them later with the details, which i did. All in all, a great dentist experience, a nice welcoming office. I am happy i have finally found my dentist. read more

Dr. Asadi recently replaced my front tooth cap with a perfect match! The first one came back from the lab a little less than perfect, and Dr. Asadi would not settle! The second one came in as a perfect match! This is the most confident I have ever felt smiling since I've been 10 years old when my front tooth broke! The dentist is nice and patient with my kids. The office staff will cancel your appointment and fill in another person faster than a blink of an eye if you miss their reminder call and don't call them back. And then said office person will lie to you about 10 different ways to Sunday to try and explain why they double booked your cleaning appointment with some dental emergency. I guess hygienists are handling emergencies now. Or say some random person with a similar name called and changed my appointment. Never in my life, until now, have I had an appointment to any type of doctor's appointment cancelled because I missed their reminder call and did not call them back. I waited two months for a new patient appointment and made it on time to my appointment and then I am told I have no appointment. I have been taking my kids here for almost 2 years and I needed to see the dentist since it has been awhile for me since I had a cleaning and exam. Guess I can wait. It is my fault for not calling them back promptly and missing their call, but I extremely do not like being lied to. So go here if you want a nice dentist, but you better make sure you don't miss their call. read more

I thought i came to the right place it was pleasant and all until they went in my mouth i needed a tooth pulled and Dr Amiran (supposedly finished surgical residency) and after an hour or so she broke a root inside my jaw she called for back up Dr Asadi came and finished the job for her it also took him some time around 4 hours in a dental chair for one tooth ridiculous. I am really concerned how Dr Amiran finished dental school at all if she cant even pull a tooth. Never again! Thank God Dr Asadi was there otherwise i would be literally screwed. I surely don't understand why this Smile Group has good reviews here. Maybe everyone else has good teeth to begin with. For me, I have never had such bad experience with any other dentists. It started last year when I did my cleaning there. I drank coffee and tea a lot and the staining was heavy. Their hygienist did such a crappy job that she only cleaned the flat surface of the teeth and left a lot of stains between the teeth. These leftover stains became sites for quickly accumulating more stains and made the staining even worse than before cleaning. I had never been this embarrassed about my teeth at that time. So when my next cleaning was due I switched to a different dentist. Later I got a call from the Smile Group saying they apologize for that bad experience and they can offer a free cleaning if I go back. I felt I might have switched too quickly and I should give the Smile Group another shot. So today when I had toothache I went back to the Smile Group to check. They obviously have forgotten their apologies; and once they heard that I disagreed with their expensive extra treatment plans (yes, they like to add those whenever possible) and I had tried other dentist, their attitude turned so quickly and one manager called Lesley almost wanted to kick me out. This time, I will indeed never go back to the so-called "Smile" Group. read more
