I originally brought my girls here since, at the time, I have Delta Denta and Medi-Cal. the staff is nice and great with kids. This is where the good ends. My girls first appointment went well. filled one cavity in one child and cleaned boths girls' teeth. They told me my older daughter would need a root canal on an adult tooth. She was, I believe, 10 at the time. They do not refer out but they gave me a referral to take to an endodontist of my choice. I tried to take her to Salida Surgery but they refused to sedate for a root canal. I ended up having to call several dentists. She had to see and adult endodontist because it was ana adult tooth and NO one would see her. Finally found a place outside my area in the Easy Bay. The total for her sedation and root canal came out to nearly $5000 out of pocket. I paid it. I took my daughter back in for her 6th month check up and the dentist was now saying she needed 2 more root canals. It makes no sense that they did not catch this before or that her endodontist didnt catch it less than 6 months later. I decided to take my girls to Dr. Filbruns office, where I go. The denitst did a full Xray of my childs mouth and said she might possibly need 1 root canal but we might be able to just do a regular filling if its not too deep. If it is too deep we can refer her out immediately. 1 possible root canal. Not 2 definite root canals. She also didnt understand how they would have missed it if it was only 6 months earlier that she had been suggested the first. Its ridiculous that doctors like this one take advantage of the welfare system and the ignorance of their patience or their patient's parents. They are entrusted to be honest but this is not honesty. And absolute piracy. Any typical welfare parents would have just did what the doctor said to do and put their kids in unnecessary pain because they don't have to fork out the money or lose time at work. What is sad is all welfare dentists treat their patients like this. They add on unnecessary work because they know Medi-Cal will pay it out. They are greedy. Had I not got a second opinion, i would be looking at another $6k out if my pocket, at least. Instead, It might be as much as only $300. $150 for filling and $150 more if she needs the root canal after all. And my dentist has someone they can refer her out to, unlike Children's Choice. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My daughter has been in excruciating pain, and despite calling every day for the past two weeks, I still have not been given an appointment. Each time I call, I am told that her case is being treated as an emergency, that it has been escalated to management, and that someone from sedation will contact me. Yet no one has called, and no appointment has been scheduled. I have found a surgical dental center in Atwater that is willing to see my daughter, but they require a referral. Unfortunately, I have been unable to obtain even that from your office. The lack of communication, urgency, and follow-through while my child continues to suffer is completely unacceptable. read more

Staff were super helpful and they are very nice to my kids. My children are very comfortable there. I love that they have the games in the waiting area for the kids. The dentist was very informative and answered all my questions. read more

I have gone and been in contact with Modesto children's choice three times now each time has gotten better than the last. I didn't think it was possible my son has moderate autism and like most people does not like the dentist, but we're taking it a step up was not being able to understand why the dentist is doing why they're doing it. My son is gonna be sick and I've been trying to take him to a dentist three times a year since his first two that six months old and these are the first people to get him to open his mouth proud to say my son has no cavities and was able to get the fluoride brush. I spoke to the office three different times about insurance prior to the appointment day and they did not have the insurance verified until I was in office and sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes with my 3 children. The dental area was messy and unsanitary looking (random splatter everywhere and dust/dirt on the many surface areas). The doctor and assistant were okay, kind to the kids and left conversation open for my questions or concerns. Then I left and I told them I'd call to book the 6 month return appointment and twice now they have scheduled my kids for the appointment without consent and I've had to call and cancel. The second time I had to call, I told them we won't be coming back to this office and the man hung up on me. This office seems careless and had awful customer service. I am in this field of work and I can't believe this place operates this way. I am not one to leave reviews often but this was an awful experience. I do not recommend this place. read more

Excellent Dental Office! First Dental Appointment for my son and they were fantastic! Staff was great from the entrance, the Dental Hygienist was INCREDIBLE! My son didn't like the ones in Tracy and this one is the only place he would tolerate, something about this building and we took him to 4 different dentist after he couldn't sit in the chair. She helped put my boy at ease from the start. The office is clean and super kid friendly! Great artwork, televisions in the ceiling, etc! Dr. was great and explained our treatment plan clearly. I was annoyed by how many appointments they had at the same time I walked in at 2 and by 3:30 all they had done was brushed my daughters teeth, only 1 doctor beds are full of patients waiting around. Hire more people or don't book so many appointments at the time same and day. First and last visit from us. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but after yesterday I must. For background, my son is 5 and on the spectrum. He has had pretty terrible experience at the dentist in the past (including this facility just 3 months ago which is why I'm only giving 4 stars) but Stephanie L., the RDA who was assigned to my son went above and beyond with him. She is truly someone special that I hope this office recognizes and is grateful for. She was extremely patient with my son, carefully explaining each step in ways a child can understand and making sure he was comfortable the entire time. I don't know if she knows, but she completely changed the trajectory and experience for all future dentist visits. He had been traumatized in the past, not able to think or talk about the dentist without crying. And yesterday, not a single tear was shed in that office. Even I have started to dread these visits. No one enjoys seeing their child so scared and uncomfortable. As we were leaving he couldn't stop talking about how nice she was and that he liked her and felt brave! I am so so grateful to Stephanie! You have completely changed this part of our life and I can't thank you enough. read more

We haven't had a good experience at this dentist. This was my daughter's first time and she was terrified. They didn't make her feel very comfortable . She was crying, but wasn't very aggressive and throwing tantrums. The doctor kept suggesting putting her to sleep, but we weren't comfortable with that. We told them we want to try again without any anesthesia. They told us ok. So I took the day off and pulled my daughter out of school to that day. When we got there they told us we won't do it unless we put her to sleep. Why not tell us that before?? So unprofessional. I would suggest you find another dentist before trying this one. I have 2 kids, 1 is sociable and has no fear. The other is shy and has anxiety about stuff, including dentist. Both of them have had great experiences at Children's Choice. The hygienists are all super friendly and great with the kids. They don't force the kids to do X-ray or photos for their records. If the kid refuses, they wait to ask again next visit. Both kids have had fillings, root canals, and crowns. Dr Bader and Christie are so great with them. Excellent bedside manner, praising the kids constantly. We've been so lucky to have such a great kid-friendly dental office for our kids. 100/10 recommendation. read more

Last couple of visits were great but this time I could tell the dentist wasn't spending his time wisely, I was waiting for an hour and a half and there was NO work done on my son besides numbing him and then the dentist up and left!! If this is how this business is ran I will be forced to go elsewhere. There was also another woman I didn't get her name came and was being rude and unprofessional with the assistant that was setting up the tools for my sons dental work, clearly made the assistant uncomfortable and uneasy. I have been bringing my kids to this office for the past year and always had a great experience. We usually see the front desk person Maybelle and Stephanie, both have always been friendly and giving my kids great welcomes. This past visit was much different. The new manager Brianna was just downright rude and aggressive, her attitude and the way she was barking orders to everyone was not nice. Stephanie cleans my kids teeth and we are ready to be checked by the Dr., but then they said there is no Dr. There is a virtual dentist who is not in the building named Dr. Ossama Saafari? Really, is this a joke? Who has ever heard of a dentist with that name let alone one that doesn't exist? Anyways I was told by my best friend who is a dental hygienist that this is illegal. The dental board can shut down this office for this. These people should not even be working unless there is a dentist in the building and checking my kids teeth. She told me to report this to the dental board because this is illegal. I am also going to report this to my insurance company because they billed me for an exam that never happened, the Dr. never checked my kids teeth and he was supposed to call me to see if they have any cavities or not, this did not happen. read more

They got my 2 kids in very quickly and were all very nice and friendly. They had some x-ray technically difficulties but eventually got it figured out but were so apologetic and accomidating. My kids felt very comfortable the whole time. read more

My daughter and son were seen here for the first time. I wanted to send a shot out to Stephanie, RDA who was a God send for both of my children who have Autism. She was very patient, kind, and was able to use the kids favorite movie and IPAD games to effectively entertain the kids, while allowing her to examine my kids. She is so sweet natured, fun, kind, and was so helpful for my children. As a special needs mother, appointments like these can be stressful and my daughter's experience, in particular, was the first dental appt. that she was able to complete. I am so happy! Dr. Mishra was polite and communicated openly with us about our kids needs. read more
