Dr. Kugar's practice feels so much more personal--she actually knows the names of my 2 kids. We've already seen her for 2 cleanings and a cavity fill, which was a first for us. She was so gentle, kind and warm. My kids had no hesitation having her inspect their teeth and I felt 100% confident in her recommendations for dental care. The reception area is really cute, with a little house inside with a play kitchen. In the patient area she has a great set up that offers a tad more privacy compared to the more open-concept areas, which I REALLY appreciate. All in all, we LOVE it. They were on time with his appointment which is important to me as a busy mom. The office was fun and appealing to his age range during the short wait time while I did paperwork. They also have a cute token they give them to "buy" a prize from the prize machine at the end of their appointment. Definitely a 5 star experience! Our appointment was scheduled for 11 a.m., but by 11:35 a.m. my children still hadn't been seen. When I stepped in to check on my daughter after waiting over 40 minutes, Dr. Singh rolled her eyes at me and did not acknowledge my presence. When I calmly asked about it, she replied, "That's just my face," and questioned why she needed to acknowledge me at all. As a parent, that response was disrespectful, unprofessional, and dismissive--especially coming from someone who works with children. If "that's just your face," and you can't control your expression or tone, that's a serious issue in pediatric care. Children notice that energy, too. At our first visit six months prior, Dr. Singh told my daughter directly, "You're not doing a good job brushing your teeth, and that's why you have cavities." During this recent visit, I overheard her make the same comment to another child nearby. This pattern of communication is harsh, not educational, and can make kids feel ashamed rather than supported. Parents and children deserve to feel respected, seen, and safe at their dental appointments. I truly hope the office reviews this behavior and ensures a more compassionate environment for families moving forward.

I changed dentists post-haste. Dr. Arazi, Dr. Taler, and the employees who work at Advanced Family Dentistry are all consummate professionals. Their customer service is outstanding, and they seem to be extremely knowledgeable of their craft. Certainly, the plethora of certificates on the walls speak to this. My step-daughter was expecting to have a follow up appointment for the second deep cleaning - the first was prior to us moving to the Indy area - but they determined it was unecessary. Instead, she will have flouride treatment for cavities. The assistant who did my cleaning was friendly and professional, and asked if I was comfortable. There was a television on the ceiling playing Grey's Anatomy, and generic 2000s pop music playing. Dr. Liang himself was also friendly, and I trust his judgment. The whole atmosphere was clean and organized, and they were an efficient office. We were in and out in 90 minutes, but it felt much quicker than that.

They charge a much higher rate than other dentists and I'd suggest just going to another dentist (I've found great care at Waterfront Family Dentist in Geist, everything has been covered under our insurance). The service care was below average and they did a terrible job at the X-Rays, having to get them re-done at another dental provider, even after sending them the ones this establishment took and sending it to them. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I'm just trying to warn others. This is my personal experience and others may find this place great. For the last several years i've had amazing cleanings every 6 to 8 months with my dentists in NYC, LA and Indy. I got new insurance and found Dr. Chang who told me I had 11 cavities. It's been years since I had a cavity. My Indianapolis dentist also happens to be a dear friend and I sent her my x-rays and she saw zero need for any fillings or drills. She recommended a fluoride toothpaste if I felt inclined. I know that I have really good dental hygiene and history so I wanted to post this because it breaks my heart to think somebody would go to Dr. Chang and suddenly be led to believe that they needed 11 fillings out of nowhere!?! Dr. Chang is very kind and lovely. She did my cleaning her self and while it was quite aggressive and painful and there was bleeding, my teeth felt clean when I left. The x-rays were by far the most uncomfortable I've ever had. I've never really had an issue with x-rays before but her instruments often either gagged me or were hurting the roof of my mouth. Hope this is helpful as you shop around for a dentist. I know it can be so hard to find one that is the right fit for each of our needs which is why I've actually flown across the country to see my dentists on a few occasions.

Just had a filling that came out due to me being careless. Called as soon as it happened, and Dr. Chang got me in the next day even though I'm not experiencing pain. Usually dentists will make you wait if they don't feel like it's important enough. She really cares and tries to help. Even if she has to be stern with me sometimes, I know it's because she genuinely cares.
