Dr. Kugar's practice feels so much more personal--she actually knows the names of my 2 kids. We've already seen her for 2 cleanings and a cavity fill, which was a first for us. She was so gentle, kind and warm. My kids had no hesitation having her inspect their teeth and I felt 100% confident in her recommendations for dental care. The reception area is really cute, with a little house inside with a play kitchen. In the patient area she has a great set up that offers a tad more privacy compared to the more open-concept areas, which I REALLY appreciate. All in all, we LOVE it. I do have one daughter that is now 28 years old and has multiple special needs that has had outstanding care along with my other two children that have been coming here. When my daughter began her care she was extremely orally defensive from many years of being on a ventilator and having a feeding tube as well as many other aggressive steps to save her life early on. One of the many things she struggled with was getting her teeth cleaned but I am so happy to report that with the dedication and patience of the staff at FPD she remains cavity free at 28 yrs old and now gets her routine cleanings and X-rays without incident. Today, without our consent, the dentist gave our child fluoride even with the notice on the chart. They did not ask first or tell us what they were doing. We have had the dentists at previous visits try to talk us out of our decision to refuse fluoride, which we politely declined. And that's ok, I'm open to a constructive conversation. Today, either our chart was not reviewed (which is concerning) and they're blindly treating each child the same OR they knowingly gave a treatment against parental consent. Either option is inexcusable and I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Our appointment was scheduled for 11 a.m., but by 11:35 a.m. my children still hadn't been seen. When I stepped in to check on my daughter after waiting over 40 minutes, Dr. Singh rolled her eyes at me and did not acknowledge my presence. When I calmly asked about it, she replied, "That's just my face," and questioned why she needed to acknowledge me at all. As a parent, that response was disrespectful, unprofessional, and dismissive--especially coming from someone who works with children. If "that's just your face," and you can't control your expression or tone, that's a serious issue in pediatric care. Children notice that energy, too. At our first visit six months prior, Dr. Singh told my daughter directly, "You're not doing a good job brushing your teeth, and that's why you have cavities." During this recent visit, I overheard her make the same comment to another child nearby. This pattern of communication is harsh, not educational, and can make kids feel ashamed rather than supported. Parents and children deserve to feel respected, seen, and safe at their dental appointments. I truly hope the office reviews this behavior and ensures a more compassionate environment for families moving forward.

For the last several years i've had amazing cleanings every 6 to 8 months with my dentists in NYC, LA and Indy. I got new insurance and found Dr. Chang who told me I had 11 cavities. It's been years since I had a cavity. My Indianapolis dentist also happens to be a dear friend and I sent her my x-rays and she saw zero need for any fillings or drills. She recommended a fluoride toothpaste if I felt inclined. I know that I have really good dental hygiene and history so I wanted to post this because it breaks my heart to think somebody would go to Dr. Chang and suddenly be led to believe that they needed 11 fillings out of nowhere!?! Dr. Chang is very kind and lovely. She did my cleaning her self and while it was quite aggressive and painful and there was bleeding, my teeth felt clean when I left. The x-rays were by far the most uncomfortable I've ever had. I've never really had an issue with x-rays before but her instruments often either gagged me or were hurting the roof of my mouth. Hope this is helpful as you shop around for a dentist. I know it can be so hard to find one that is the right fit for each of our needs which is why I've actually flown across the country to see my dentists on a few occasions.
