I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Selecman and Children's Dental Center. It's easier for…read moreme to make a blanket statements like THIS is what visiting the dentist should be like *or* Dr. Selecman is legit the best in the business. But. I want to break down some of my favorite parts about this place to give you a more concrete overview. 1. Kindness: Professionals who help children should care MORE (not less) about their jobs because children are among our most vulnerable. Dr. Selecman is among this type of human. He caters this dentistry experience to the little children. He talks to them as humans BUT through the lens that they are still children. There is a special type of kindness laced in his approach. I cannot tell you how special it is and how much I appreciate this. 2. Family: Coming here is an experience for the whole family. They care about everybody and make an effort to keep families together while the kids are having dental work. It goes a long way! 3. Fun: There is something fun in EVERY room for the kids. Whether it's coloring or movies in the reception area; movies, video games, or legos in the waiting areas; a TV screen for a movie on the ceiling while getting your teeth cleaned; or the token at the end to redeem for a toy of your child's choosing -- these things mean a lot because they go the extra mile to make a dental experience something happy for children. It means a lot to me when the dental hygienist is calm and patient and focuses on the patient. (I appreciate it so much when hygienists, dentists, doctors, hairstylists, etc. remember this.) I know they have a job to do but my child is more than a set of teeth. They have fears and apprehensions and worries and it's very unsettling to have someone digging around in your mouth with metal tools. For the most part, we have had good experiences at Children's Dental Center -- some better than others. I also really appreciate the women at the check-out desk. I have really noticed over time that they are habitually kind!! I'm grateful for every member of the staff who goes out of their way to make sure these kids feel safe and well taken care of.

I loved this place. I went with my god-daughter for her first dental check up and quickly felt…read morecomfortable. When you first walk in you are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. The facility has adequate space, is clean, and has lots of kid friendly activities and seating. The had a tv are (with multiple televisions), coloring tables, and a gaming area. The Dentist and staff are friendly and professional. You can tell that they take pride in their work. Her check up was quick (an hour start to finish), yet filled with great information and services. At the end of the check up they give each child a token so they can get a cool little treat. Love it!

This office does a great job with kids, today was especially good for my eldest. He has Down…read moresyndrome and is very distrusting of medical professionals in general. His hygienist today was Miss Chastity and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. She was exceptionally gentle, calm, and patient with my son. She had a great demeanor with him and kept an even steady tone while explaining to him what she would be doing and showing him the different implements she would be using. When he made it clear he had had enough of a particular event (flossing for instance) she said "okay we are all done with that, now let's do something else". And if she could come back to it later she would and if not, well that is better than further traumatizing him and making him that much more fearful of medical professionals. Miss Chastity was excellent!! Everyone else was great too but Miss Chastity deserves special recognition for how she treated my son today.

Let's get right to the point. Dental hygienist Chastity. She is amazing. My son has developmental…read moredelays and he is terrified of doctors, white coats, procedures...anything doctor related. Too much medical trauma in his life. He will not and I mean WILL NOT lie flat on his back for any medical professional. He has been held down too many times in his life. Well, he walked back with Miss Chastity, got right on the table, and got right onto his back for her. Um, what?! Then she was AMAZING with him, earning his trust, going slow and gentle, talking TO HIM rather than at him or sternly commanding him or talking to us parents as if he weren't there. That's the usual. But not Miss Chastity. She spoke to him kindly, softly, descriptively, treating him like a human and one with thoughts and feelings (which of course he is!) She took her time and made sure he felt safe, listened to, and respected. And he ended up receiving the most thorough dental cleaning he's had in his life. He allowed her to floss his teeth!!!! A first!!!! (I will also add that all of this follows a not-great visit for him last time with a hygienist who was much less patient). All in all, this place is really good with kids. But I'll be honest, this 5-star review is all about Chastity. I hope we have her again in future visits!! And Chastity, if you ever read this - thank you. You have no idea how happy you made two parents who go into these appointments with dread knowing how traumatizing they are for our son.

We love Dr. Josh. He was my dentist as a child and now my kids (7 and 3) go to him. They love going…read moreto the dentist. The staff is so caring and fun. The office is a calm, fun environment for kids. He did such a great job with my son's restorative work when he was 4yo that my son was actually disappointed that he was only getting a cleaning rather than having a cavity filled! We drive from midtown because it's worth it to get care from such a great practice.

My teen son and daughter have been patients at Brink pediatric dentistry since their first dental…read morevisit when they began to grow teeth. We have had a few concerns arise regarding their care over the years but I put my trust in the staff at Brink and have always done as they directed. I write this review from a momma's heart that truly wants others to have information about a provider and the care we received. During one visit, the dentist apparently had child care issues (which I completely get!!) but when you are too busy wrangling your children that you are unable to focus on your patient... that is unacceptable and unprofessional. During our most recent 6 month Check up visit last week, the tech accidentally pulled my daughter's braces wire from the back bracket. She had received a fluoride treatment so had to wait to eat or drink anything. When she did eat/drink, she felt something sharp poking her. I immediately called Brink to tell them about it and see if we could come get it fixed. The receptionist ensured us it could be fixed and come back in. We went back to Brink only to be told that the "staff was too busy to see us" then we were told "they could not fix because they did not put the braces on her." Mind you, I called ahead to see if they could fix hours before this and was told yes. I understand that some things need to be fixed by the orthodontist specifically and I would've gladly taken her to her ortho but at this point her ortho would've been closed by the time I could get her to memphis. The inside of her jaw was now hamburger meat from the wire tearing into it and nothing I could do to help. Also During this checkup, we were told my son had a cavity that needed to be fixed. My kids have been treated for several "cavities" that I have questioned over the years but I scheduled the appointment to have it filled. I was so upset over the care my daughter received and watching her be in pain over this wire that I went the next morning to request their records be transferred to another local pediatric dentist. The receptionist offered no care/concern for us leaving the practice. Stated that she had cancelled all future appointments and would send our records. The next week, Wyatt saw his new dentist to establish care and see if he actually had a cavity that needed to be filled. The x-rays were sent over from Brink. Our new dentist looked them over and completed his assessment of Wyatt. He took us to a separate room and explained to us that he had looked over the x-rays, but wanted to see Wyatt with his own eyes. He stated his teeth were perfect and healthy, and he saw absolutely no concern nor cavities. This made us question how many times they had had completed unnecessary procedures at Brink. I told the new dentist that we did not want to be labeled as troublemakers because of switching dentist. I then went on to explain the care that we had received at Brink. This new dentist sadly looked at us and said he wishes he had something else to say, but he had been hearing this each and every week multiple times from patients who had left the Brink practice for occurrences such as what we had experienced. The new dentist took the time to listen to me and Wyatt and was truly empathetic. He was very caring and apologized for Brink when he didn't have to. He states that he treats each one of his patients as if it were his own child which is ALL I ask. The care we received at Brink is not the type of care I wish for anybody to receive when you place your child's well-being into a providers hands. We trust their assessment and their advisement. To put a child through an unnecessary procedure is awful. Again, I'm not putting this out there to bash anybody. Just hoping somebody else can take our experience into consideration before choosing this dentistry.
