We're a fan of the technology used to keep us in the loop with daily reports and cameras so we can check in during the day. Yes, they have cameras however the quality sucks you can hardly even recognize your child, you cannot zoom in, and you can only watch for 5 mins 3 times a day. This place is cheap which is what grabs you in as a parent they will even ask you " what are you willing to pay". Please don't fall for it especially if you have a younger child. The Goddard school next door is a way better option! You get way more bang for your buck!

My husband and I saw it and our daughter told us repeatedly she was "scared" to ask to go to the bathroom. And she reenacts yelling at home with her toys and says "This is how the teachers are screaming at us". It is emotional abuse, not discipline. Observable impact: In only 2 weeks from going back to school there (and she was there during the whole summer), she had pipi accident at least 7 times. One time the Teacher even closed the door when she wanted to go to the bathroom (they acknoledged it) Fear caused repeated daytime potty accidents, at school she is fully potty-trained at home and in her previous class there. This is direct evidence that the classroom of ROOM 8 environment is unsafe and stressful. Inconsistent excuses: The director tried to excuse yelling as a hearing issue from one of the teacher, then later when pressed for solutions to support that disable teacher, admitted there's no formal diagnosis. So basically the acknowledgement of "YES THEY DO YELL and we ran out of excuses here". Failure to document: Incidents, accidents, and bullying (yes my daughter was bullied by 2 other kids in the previous room - room 7) were only recorded after I demanded it in writing. They did not leave any paper trail. This shows a systemic disregard for transparency and child safety. They won't leave any incident in the ProCare app nor to our emails. All evidences I have are from me always immediately leaving a paper trail by email. YOU parents have to make sure to document everything in writing if you want to file a complaint or a report later, BEWARE of that practice. Retaliation: After raising concerns, the director expelled my daughter on the spot, and admitting she has gladly done this before to other families that refuse to stay silent. Scrolling through the Google reviews below and Yelp reviews shows this is a pattern, not an isolated incident. Parents, beware: This school prioritizes protecting staff(that has a HUGE turn over to by the way) and its reputation over children's well-being. If teachers are yelling, incidents are ignored, and parents are silenced or retaliated against, this is not a safe environment. I stayed in touch with 3 teachers that used to work there and were there for my daughter, and none of them are able to tell great things about the management there. They discard the teachers there the same way they discard parents that are raising legitimate concerns (yes all the 3 teachers have spoke about the other cases of retaliation there) on the spot. And then the management sends a message to parents as " MS. Teacher X will be absent to solve family matters so other teacher will step up". It is so often that it became an inside joke with parents "which other teacher will have family matter to solve this week". I can no longer recommend this school, my child's emotional health and safety were compromised, and the administration's response to our legitimate concerns was dismissive and retaliatory.

As a new mom, I was super nervous about leaving my little guy somewhere new for the first time since he was born - but they have exceeded all expectations. From Day 1 the teachers and staff made an effort to know his name, and make all of us feel so welcome and valued. The teachers in room 1 have all been so kind and lovely, especially Raven - who really seems like she was meant to be around babies. She brings such joy and light into each day and gives detailed updates (even for blowouts lol) with a smile. As far as technology, the daycare offers apps for parents to live stream video of all classrooms and see live feed updates of everything going on in the day (diapers, how much they ate, etc), which we have found super helpful to feel 'in the loop'. The teachers also upload pictures of our little one throughout the week which we so so enjoy. They offer events and special days for the kids frequently, in addition to a (paid) parents night out which we hope to take advantage of soon! There are snacks for the kiddos each morning, and chocolate chip cookies on the way out every friday afternoon. The babies in Room 1 are involved in a range of activities throughout the day such as story time, flashcards, sensory activities, painting (with take home presents for mom and dad), outside buggy time, and a variety of other things. Tip for other new moms: they don't let you do glass bottles (or food jars), for fear of shattering upon warming. Plastic bottles / food jars only.

They have a refrigerator-sized sanitizer machine you'll see as soon as you walk through the doors leading to the classrooms. It supposedly runs regularly to clean toys and some bottles. I never saw it in use, but I assume it operates when the facility is closed. Obviously most daycares are a Petri dish for germs, but it seemed like our son caught viruses here on a bi-weekly basis. It wasn't until we started at our new daycare a few months ago that I realized how much less time he was spending sick. Lighthouse's food options appeared satisfactory, although I agree completely with another parent's review that the portions are quite small. You're responsible for bringing your own diapers, wipes, diaper paste, nap rolls, and other essentials every week or as needed. Additionally, if your child is a picky eater (like mine), you pack extra snacks for them in their backpack daily. Lighthouse is undoubtedly the most expensive daycare in the area. Besides the weekly fees, they also charge semester, curriculum, and supply fees. We were paying over $250 a week for two days of care (For an 18 month to 2-year old) plus the extra fees. Additional 100's of dollars billed at different times of the year. It's important to note that you must pay the full amount for these extra fees, regardless of whether your child is enrolled full-time or part-time. Like I said, we had our son enrolled part-time. Considering the charges, I had expected a more value for the experience. Craft projects rarely, if ever, made it home. There were a lot of children in each room, assigned to only one or two teachers. Also, it seemed like most of the event days were held on days we didn't have my son attending. While this isn't necessarily their fault, I did wish there was a reduced supply rate to account for it, as he was missing most of the events and shows. On the positive side, we liked his teachers. They all seemed to be doing their best in a very busy classroom. Ms. Glory and Ms. Takhleeq, in particular, are truly wonderful. When he transferred to their class, we noticed a significant improvement in his mood. If your child is in their class, you're fortunate! They do give you camera access here, but it is limited. If you go over your limit for the day, you're locked out for the rest of the day. There's no counter to show how much time you have left, so you're left up to guess in this regard. A staff member explained that this was to help with network lagging. Too many parents watching constantly stretches their signal to breaking apparently. Understandable, but definitely something to make note of in advance. After the first two weeks at Lighthouse, my son began to hate being dropped off. He would tantrum and cry, and the situation didn't seem to improve. I decided to speak with the director to discuss ways to make the mornings smoother for him. However, this was a mistake. Any concern or question I had was met with dismissive remarks like, "You should have him here more days" and "When are you enrolling him full-time?" We had multiple conversations like this, and I lost count of how many times I had to reiterate that we simply couldn't afford to have him there more than two days a week. It was a wholy embarrassing and uncomfortable experience. When I got home that day, I told my husband that Lighthouse just seemed like a blatant money grab. From that point on, I made it a priority to only seek out the assistant director, Mary, whenever I had any concerns. She was incredibly helpful and provided us with valuable tips. She also advised the teachers on some small ways to make drop-off less traumatic, which I was very grateful for. I didn't expect miracles, just some small gestures that they were actually trying to help our son. The tantrums didn't improve drastically though, and it was something we had to deal with until we left Lighthouse. The mornings were problematic. For a facility that claims to be open from 6:00 to 6:00, the staff scheduling seemed to be a major issue. Some mornings, we would have to drop him off earlier than others due to work or home changes. Whenever this happened, almost always, it would be chaotic. I would try to take him to his usual room, but would be met with a staff member who would tell me that I needed to take him somewhere else, because the teacher wasn't actually there yet. This wasn't a rare occurrence; it happened often. I would pass the front desk and hear the receptionist panicking on the phone because "...the 7:30 people didn't show up!" Sometimes, the alternate classroom would also change without us knowing ahead of time. The worst case was during his last week at Lighthouse when I had to take him to TWO rooms before finally figuring out where he was supposed to be. Often, I was tempted to just take him home because I felt so terrible leaving him there in that environment.

One day I called after waiting 2hrs for a response and I found out at 1:30pm they forgot to feed my baby his 12pm milk. Every time we check our camera feed my son is left alone standing in his crib to cry it out or sitting in his high chair to cry it out. One day on the camera feed we saw a different baby in his assigned crib which is where we are assuming he got his terrible stomach bug from (vomiting, fever, diarrhea) as he refuses to eat and drink while at the daycare. Today when I withdrew him, I was handed another child's belongings and when I changed my son at home I saw that he was put in a size 5 diaper instead of the size 3 diaper we gave them (my son has sensitive skin). Overall, this place is not worth the money.
