if I could leave 0 stars I WOULD!Yelling and fear: Teachers in Room 8 routinely yell at children there. My husband and I saw it and our daughter told us repeatedly she was "scared" to ask to go to the bathroom. And she reenacts yelling at home with her toys and says "This is how the teachers are screaming at us". It is emotional abuse, not discipline. Observable impact: In only 2 weeks from going back to school there (and she was there during the whole summer), she had pipi accident at least 7 times. One time the Teacher even closed the door when she wanted to go to the bathroom (they acknoledged it) Fear caused repeated daytime potty accidents, at school she is fully potty-trained at home and in her previous class there. This is direct evidence that the classroom of ROOM 8 environment is unsafe and stressful. Inconsistent excuses: The director tried to excuse yelling as a hearing issue from one of the teacher, then later when pressed for solutions to support that disable teacher, admitted there's no formal diagnosis. So basically the acknowledgement of "YES THEY DO YELL and we ran out of excuses here". Failure to document: Incidents, accidents, and bullying (yes my daughter was bullied by 2 other kids in the previous room - room 7) were only recorded after I demanded it in writing. They did not leave any paper trail. This shows a systemic disregard for transparency and child safety. They won't leave any incident in the ProCare app nor to our emails. All evidences I have are from me always immediately leaving a paper trail by email. YOU parents have to make sure to document everything in writing if you want to file a complaint or a report later, BEWARE of that practice. Retaliation: After raising concerns, the director expelled my daughter on the spot, and admitting she has gladly done this before to other families that refuse to stay silent. Scrolling through the Google reviews below and Yelp reviews shows this is a pattern, not an isolated incident. Parents, beware: This school prioritizes protecting staff(that has a HUGE turn over to by the way) and its reputation over children's well-being. If teachers are yelling, incidents are ignored, and parents are silenced or retaliated against, this is not a safe environment. I stayed in touch with 3 teachers that used to work there and were there for my daughter, and none of them are able to tell great things about the management there. They discard the teachers there the same way they discard parents that are raising legitimate concerns (yes all the 3 teachers have spoke about the other cases of retaliation there) on the spot. And then the management sends a message to parents as " MS. Teacher X will be absent to solve family matters so other teacher will step up". It is so often that it became an inside joke with parents "which other teacher will have family matter to solve this week". I can no longer recommend this school, my child's emotional health and safety were compromised, and the administration's response to our legitimate concerns was dismissive and retaliatory. read more

There was no way I can leave work each day to pick her up early for her crying AND afford to pay the tuition. The teachers don't even greet the adults when they drop the kids off, so why would they pay any attention to the children??? When meeting with the director I stated that it doesn't seem like a reason for me to be called because she's having a tantrum. She told me that hers are worse than usual and they have noticed this in the past week. she stated that my daughter and Blank (she gave me the name of the other child but I won't post it) we're the worst in the room. She said "we only have 2 disruptive kids in that room because we have removed the others from the school". It truly seemed like a threat. Plus I shouldn't know the behaviors of other children. Where is the compassion? Why are we not questioning the reasoning that all of a sudden my daughter is crying all the time? Never once suspected it to be this new teacher. They finally grew tired of her crying and called me at 630p on a Friday to tell me she closed the door, a teachers finger was in it, and she is no longer able to come back because they had to file a workers comp claim.I was puzzled as to how a 3 yr old could be to blame for an adult having her finger in the door when she closed it...but I knew what was happening here. I was left to find alternative arrangements last minute. On another occasion I was called to pick up my son early because he kicked another kid. I asked to view the video footage to get a picture of what happened. It showed my son and another kid rough housing, and NO ADULT PRESENT. When I pointed it out, their response was that they were going to "council" the teacher. I can't leave work early because there is no supervision and kids doing what kids do. There is no training for these teachers and no standards at all. Pls save yourself the stress and find another school. I love this place. Shopped around, called around, checked reviews and all the above! I called the first time and didn't get a warm feeling but eventually went in for a tour and immediately felt a welcoming vibe. The teachers were very patient to my littLe one which made me feel comfortable. She's been there for a few months and ask for her teachers over the weekend. They give you updates throughout the day with photos which always warm my heart. If your shopping around, take the tour! read more

This April makes 3 years we have been at Children's Light House in Harvest Green and I would recommend it. My 4 1/2 year old and 2 1/2 year old go there and are very happy. Before covid hit the school was doing so great. They were 2 years from opening and had great teachers, events and the kids were happy. I do think the pandemic was very hard on everyone and they lost some great staff and turnover has been high. As we have come out I feel like the turnover has slowed down and we are seeing some great teachers again. Ms. Hannah is amazing, Ms. Samantha really cares and we love Ms. Sara and Ms. Allison. My 4-year-old can write anything if you tell her the letters, she can also spell her name and everyone in our family along with most of her friends without help. They also work on kindness and listening skills. My two-year-old is really starting to talk and knows his colors and numbers and everyday leaves and tells me how much he loved playing with his friends. The facility is still rather new, clean and I love that it has shaded playgrounds for all age levels. Also, they update their app everyday of what the kids did, ate, how long they napped, everything. Most days they add a picture or two. Also, you can login whenever you want for a few minutes and see what your kids are up to. I love this feature and do it every day. There is a lot of choices in childcare and I am happy we are at lighthouse and more importantly my kiddos are safe, learning and having fun with their friends. My daughter also has food allergies and they always work with me to make sure she has safe food and is included with any of the extra fun activities they do. read more

They kicked my 6 month old baby out after a week of him being there and lied and said he wouldn't eat and that he would cry all day. I would get empty bottles sent home and I knew he would eat. I would look on the camera and knew he wasn't crying all day. If your child is having a hard time acclimating they will blame your child and will eventually stop trying because they don't truly care at all. The assistant director (Miss Mo) is very rude and disrespectful, she yelled at me for talking to my child's teacher. When I told the director (Miss Shannon) she became extremely fake and let her disrespect me. I think Shannon and Mo are very fake. Don't send your kids here. read more

Parents beware. They can't seem to keep teachers. Under staffed and too many kids in the classes. They run wild and no supervision. You will get called at least once or twice a week (if not everyday) for something that happened to your child. They always want you to come get the child because they can't control them. When we got called for an incident they preceded to tell us it was an ongoing problem yet this was the first we had heard of it. They keep incident reports but not one report regarding the incident in question. But we had 17 reports of our child getting bite, hit, scratched or hurt. Then to tell us we don't tell you the bad stuff. How you suppose to know there is a problem if you don't tell us. They protect their teachers before they protect your child. Parents move on!!!! Our infant was in this daycare for two months (July-Aug 2019). We were sad to leave because we love to support local business owners but we felt the quality of care was not what we expected. We had countless issues surrounding all aspects of care and eventually we grew tired of being frustrated. We also thought no one on the staff ever built a meaningful relationship with our daughter. It seemed to us that teachers would turnover and be shuffled around too quickly. I was super hopeful the issues could be resolved. Love the facilities, and staff! Great curriculum and they do a lot of activities with my 3 year old! Also love the transparency with instruction through parent-accessible camera, and the daily reporting app that teachers can upload pictures of their day along with the day's agenda. Only "slight" complaint is for those who do school day option, the hours of which we bring the kids doesn't allow them to be able to eat breakfast or afternoon snack. If you can offer 8-3 instead of 8:30-2:30, that would be awesome! read more

I took a tour of the facilities and met the lovely staff. The owners, Daniela and her sister, Karen were so personable and knowledgeable. The front desk person, Robyn remembered me when we went to the carnival even though I had only met her once. I was so impressed! The building was clean and the kids seemed to be learning so much! Daniela and Karen informed me that they both were educators before opening a daycare and it shows. As a teacher myself, I could see that the curriculum was stellar. If we lived a little closer, we would surely make it work. Unfortunately, it's a little too far from our house. read more

The assistant director Robin is a despicable liar. She has no compassion and should not be working in a childcare industry. How do you look into a parents eye and be condescending and rude. No, I will not recommend. We had a terrible experience that left us with a very bitter taste. Our son got kicked out of this school when he was 4 years old (same school he had been attending since he was 17 months old!) We have 3 kids and this was our first experience of this type of treatment, in any child care facility. This school started off well, we were one of the very first parents (2019) and the entire staff used to be amazing but something went wrong. Most of the good hands have left. Now they have very high staff turnover rates - new faces every day! I honestly feel like the current staff get easily overwhelmed and just are not concerned, experienced or genuine enough to handle child care at all its levels of complexity. They want robot kids that follow all instructions and are easy to control so that they can have as many as possible in one space. If your child does not meet this requirement, get ready to be kicked out! Glad we were able to find a facility that truly understands the meaning of child care. read more

WARNING SHADY OWNERS AND MANAGEMENT. Just recently 11/5/19 me, my mom and ex-husband were notified that "a boy stepped on "my daughter's" face while she was laying on the ground and her lip was split from the "frenulum."" Doesn't sounds right does it... my family and doctor didn't think so either. After this lie was told numerous times to three different people I asked to speak with the teacher in the classroom where this happened. When I spoke with the teacher she said "Na she was kicked in her face." WHY WOULD THE FRONT DESK ASSISTANT ROBIN LIE ABOUT THAT? Later one of 4 owners; Daniella Simpson called at 8:53 p (over 12 hrs after the incident) to say "she jumped the gun" which seems she "communicated the wrong information." This was the first time I was contacted by the owner. I WAS PROVIDED NO INCIDENT REPORT. Before reviewing the footage of my daughter being kicked numerous times and in physical harm, the Director Shannon says, "I am going to warn you, your not going to like what you see/ It doesn't look good", while sitting in the office with myself, my child and "Robin". I was shocked how the toddler consistently stood up kicking my child while she was laying on the ground trying to sit up and defend her self. My expression was "Oh my gosh!" Shannon then clearly stared the boy was suspended and will not be returning. My ex-husband then joined us in the conference room and Shannon says, "I promise we wouldn't hide the fact that Mei was kicked." We watched the footage for the second time and I could see the teacher who was "supervising" the kids looking right in their direction while my child was on the ground being kicked by a boy toddler who was standing up. I asked why I was told my daughter was stepped on by Robin numerous times... of course they didn't have a answer to that. She looked like a deer had seen headlights! It was ridiculous how easy she thought it would be to lie to parents about injury to a child while under their care. Again, Shannon said the boy was suspended and would not be back. Later that same day my daughter had another incident and took a blow to her ear "SOMEHOW" and had two red marks that were bruising on each side of her face! The Director Shannon joking said she was on the "playground continuously putting her face in the playground toy bars and noticed it left two red marks" AGAIN I WAS NOT NOTIFIED, and while Shannon is speaking the other "NEW" front desk assistant said "we did put ice on it". I was furious because again I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. 24 hours later still NO INCIDENT REPORT. Most importantly my ex husband and I received no documentation. When asked to see footage of the playground we both were denied on 11/5/19. Owner still had not contacted neither of us until I had to call back up there at 6:09 p and sent an email for her to call me. Finally Daniella Simpson one of the owners decided to call at 8:53 p. Her excuse was she had to get all the facts and details over 12 hours but still did not review the footage and she had her son. Sorry but what an excuse to not contact the parents immediately after the incident, especially when footage had to be reviewed and especially after we were told to take her to the doctor. So since they recommended her to see a doctor they still won't provide the incident report and obvious did not take this matter seriously. So many policies have been broken at this point. After contacting the police and speaking with licensing; which the Director Shannon called after my child was kicked in her face, there was still no incident report and I still had not been contacted by the owners. You would think they would have called after their Director called licensing and after I have repeatedly ask for them to call. However the next morning the boy was at the daycare and was not suspended. I asked the teacher who witnessed my daughter get kicked "is that the boy who kicked my daughter" her response was "I wasn't suppose to say anything but yes".
