Great people and staffs are very friendly. My son is going to this daycare and he loves it. Food quality needs to be improved.

The staff at Lighthouse Little Elm are incredibly loving and attentive, making sure each child feels safe and cared for; my toddler always comes home happy and excited. We are so grateful for the nurturing environment they provide for my little one. He has learned so much and made great friends while developing important social skills at a young age. The center recently had a staff turn over that I believed was for the best. True example of the old saying "change is better". Nevertheless we are glad to be a part of the Lighthouse family! read more

*Update* We ended up withdrawing our daughter. Unfortunately the teachers in her classroom were just so overwhelmed with her class being at full capacity that our daughter wasn't receiving the care she needed. Further, there was such a lack of structure and curriculum not being taught that our daughter began to regress. We have since started at another school and it's been night and day. read more

I must say, I'm extremely impressed with the team at Children's Light House of Little Elm. Our daughter started there when she was 6 months and within just a few weeks we saw here development taking off and her catching on to things much quicker. The team here is very attentive to the children and they're always having a good time when I'm picking her up and peaking at what she's doing on the cameras. Highly recommend them! read more

My little started here 2 months ago and my experience has been amazing! My middle child attended this school for 3 years awhile back so Lighthouse has been in our family for quite some time. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable on child development and independent play. The infant teacher is BOMB! We love her! Definitely would recommend this facility for your child care needs. The owner does not know how to talk to employees at all. The office staff members put on a fake persona for new coming paren but it isn't genuine. One of the floaters told my three year old son, that he was getting on her nerve. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND SENDING YOUR CHILDREN HERE ITS A JOKE. read more

i don't have children but i did use to work at this establishment . The management is very unorganized with terrible communication skills. the classrooms are always dirty and smell awful most of the time, even if the cleaning crew was there the night before. i have been physically abused by some of the children in this facility and when management was told about it they didn't do much of anything besides talk to the children's parents. they are rude to their employees, have left employees out of ratio for longer than 15 minutes. management also EXPECTS employees to come in even when they are sick, they had one of my co workers come in while she was ill & throwing up, they told her that they would let her leave early during that day and she ended up staying her entire shift while being physically sick. i highly suggest not working here or bringing your children to this school for their care. read more

This place has been amazing for this first time mom! Very communicative via email and phone, and our 7 month old LOVES it there! Miss Kim (Director) has been helpful in every way and answered every question we had from the tour to the enrollment. Our son has been going here for about a month now and each time we drop him off, he has a big smile on his face - which is saying a lot! Miss Itaf, Miss Tammie and Miss Jayden love on him and he loves them tons too! They do CARE calls when something happens to him such as when he accidentally hit his head slightly on a toy or running a low grade fever. They kept watch and updated us. The facility is very clean and they sanitize the toys, change the crib sheets daily, have a monthly schedule posted outside each room and the teachers communicate with each other as well when they switch. They make sure that our son is fed well and make suggestions on what he eats too. They truly do care about the kids and you can tell from how happy the kids in the other rooms are too! He's happy so we're happy! read more

I put my kids here every summer. They do two field trips per week for the school age kids and do lots of activities. They have splash pads in the back for the younger kids. The staff has always been nice to me and my children. They feed the kids breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks which really helps me out. The kids love going there and love their teachers! My interactions have always been positive. read more

My daughter has been attending Lighthouse for the last two and a half year. She loves it. Her teachers have always been sweet, loving, helpful and engaged with her and the other children in her class. During the summer they get to enjoy extra activities that range from having a petting zoo come in to performers who put on shows to playing in the splash pad twice a week. Front office staff are helpful and whenever there has been an issue they do their best to address it. The only thing that I could say that might be on the negative side is that for the last year or so the teacher turnover rate is on the higher side. read more

THE STAFF ARE ONLY BAD AS THE DIRECTOR.. I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD.. UNETHICAL AND ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES I took my girls to this daycare 10/09/2015 and when I arrived to pick them up I had made the decision that my oldest wouldn't be back from what i felt. The teachers in room 8 did not look of the most pleasant. The youngest one looked as though she was there just because she needed a job.. My youngest I adore and loved her teacher(s) They worked with her for the most part on her walking and independence. THE OFFICE STAFF IS HORRIBLE AND ARE THIEVES. Due to it was my first day to start at work and my fiance' was out of town I had decided to give Children's Lighthouse a chance knowing that if I had have explained to him my concerns he would have told me to take our kids and turn around to head home. The African American in the office had a attitude that you can feel walking through the door and a rude demeanor that you can not shake off. I assumed maybe she just was having a bad friday as some do. Well Monday, I decided to take my kids elsewhere due to my concerns. Wednesday the school called and left a voicemail and of course I could not answer but it was Stephanie who is really sweet and genuinely care but as they say ONE BAD APPLE SPOIL THE BUNCH. I had my fiance' to go to the school to get the rest of the kids belongings but only to see that her things had been used or who knows but it wasn't in her cubby. The African American lady proceeded to ask my fiance' what happened(probing) and he told her that I had decided to go to another school which I did have a right to do because I did not sign anything and from what i was told they do not do prorated THEY WOULD DO THE DROP IN FEE($70 OLDEST, $60 YOUNGEST). Her attitude then change from bad to worse consistently bringing up collections loudly almost to try and embarrass my fiance' in front of the other parents there. She claim that I had signed a agreement( i still have both by the way UNSIGNED) she and I have a copy(WHICH IS A BLUNT LIE). My fiance' asked her three times to make sure that she knew what he was asking. She DID NOT PROVIDE HIM WHAT HE ASKED FOR, SHE GAVE HIM A DETAILED RECEIPT OF CHARGES THAT SHE GAVE ME FOR FRIDAY WITH A $200 FEE THAT SHE JUST CHARGED TO OUR CARD WHILE GETTING THIS SUPPOSED SIGNED AGREEMENT KNOWING THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE IT FIRST OFF. The very next day, my fiance' spoke with the director because he wanted to handle it BUT he did not get anywhere as THE DIRECTOR SIDED WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CO WORKER WHO ILLEGALLY WENT INTO MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT ANYTHING ON FILE(EXCEPT FOR THE CARD # SHE HAD WRITTEN DOWN AND SOCIALS ON FILE. LONG STORY SHORT, I WILL BE PRESSING CHARGES ON THIS FACILITY DUE TO THE UNETHICAL AND ILLEGAL PRACTICES THAT THEY TRY TO JUSTIFY AT THIS FACILITY. They do not obtain any proof that they had the right to go into my account and get $200 fee, NOTHING WAS EVER SIGNED, and they will be getting put under investigation by the little elm police department to make sure that this is to ever happen again to anyone else. As you can't judge a book by it's cover WE DO KNOW PEOPLE. I AM YOUNG BUT FAR FROM UNEDUCATED. read more

I had to come back on here and edit my review after I received a message from the owner Angela, asking me what happened. I replied with my cell phone to please give me a call. Within 30secs, she posted a respond to my review saying they tried hard to work with me. It's such a shame because I only spoke with Ada the director who's the reason I left this daycare. Then the owner, without even calling me....comes and says she tried HARD!!! I thought Ada was just the problem, but even the owners are just as bad. These people are liars. And please look at my other reviews, like she says to. This place is the classic example of fake customer service smiles then once you sign up, the real colors come out. I asked the director, Ada, about doing a trial day coz I was very concerned about how my 21months old would take the change. She said that's possible and we need to first register to do the trial day. After we pay for the registration, she said we need to fill out all the enrollment papers and get all the health statements and immunizations first. We do all of that and then we are told the first day is Monday. So After my husband drops them off, I call to follow up on the log in for the access cameras to see how my little one was doing. Then she says I have to pay $445 to have access to that which they highlighted so well during the tour but never talked about the money. I head back to the daycare and now we are in her office. She then tells me it could take up to 5days to get set up and it's a third party. I asked her if she could even call them to see if they can expedite it. She told me she was busy. Even to get on the phone with them while I am there to show to me that she's doing the best she can, she couldn't. One minute she says it's not within her control and then next minute she says it's against policy. She also told me my 21 month old is doing very well, I went to check on her and she was crying on the floor and non of the teachers were helping to soothe her. Her face was deep red, I couldn't even recognize the wailing sound of my child because she also had been crying the entire time. This is what they didn't want me to see. My older one was doing just fine, but because of the attitude from the director I realize you don't want a daycare where the director doesn't even try to help. A simple phone call was all I asked. I will not continue to bring my child to a place where she's absolutely neglected and left to CRY IT OUT while they let me wait 5business days before I can have access to see how my OWN child is doing. This is what they didn't want me to see!! I am sorry, you have your policy as an organization to NEGLECT babies and I have my own policy as a mom. I pulled both my kids out of this daycare within 2 hours of them being There. Please don't ignore the negative reviews. I made that same mistake. There is a reason why all the daycares in the area are full of life and active and busy, and this one is sad and dreary and empty. read more

My son Jaxon has attended this school since he was 2 years old , he is now almost 6 and in kindergarten . We still do after school care as well . My son has learned so much from this school , sight words , writing and how follow rules which really helped him get ready for Kindergarten! read more

My son and daughter have attended this day care for 5 years. they have learned so much and they have always loved their teachers. my oldest has moved on to public school now and he still talks about his days at his "lighthouse school"!! they have had minor staffing issues from time to time but I truly believe it's a common problem in day care and they always rectify the problems quickly. We love all of the fun activities they do and the kids never seem bored. We will be sad when it's time to move on! read more

Wow.. very shady business person she cannot keep good teachers because she treats them extremely poorly and then they have a policy in place so that if you quit without giving a two week notice they can just rob you of your income I however did give a notice so she fired me so that she wouldn't have to pay me my agreed-upon wage if you are considering seeking employment here please be very cautious if you are seeking childcare here be careful there was a little girl in my class with head lice they did not notify myself nor the parents of the other children that were exposed to head lice also not the cleanest environment as soon as I walked in the classroom and it smells like old urine I had decided at that point that I wasn't going to stay working there very long only a friend of mine stuck her neck out for me so I was going to do my due diligence as to not make my friend look bad but one can only do what one can do sad situation read more

My children were at Children's Lighthouse for seven years, with my youngest moving up to Kindergarten in the fall. We will miss Lighthouse very much! We have had many wonderful teachers and experiences with them. At times we have had difficulties, but I always felt my concerns were acknowledged and addressed. I felt that my kids were safe and loved. Pre-Kindergarten has been amazing for my youngest, I have watched him grow immensely this past year! We had been at Children's Lighthouse - Little Elm for a little over 3 years. In that time we have had our ups and downs, but for the most part the long-term staff members have tried to address our concerns. At times we have had to stay on top of them to get issues resolved or escalate matters in order to stress the importance of our concerns, but they remained professional thru it all. In the end, a relationship based off trust and understand was established, and we were overall happy. Recently, we noticed a change in the staff and began to question the qualifications of some of the staff members. In particular, my main concern was for my youngest child. This concern was not appeased when I saw some concerning interaction between a staff member and my child thru the WatchMeGrow service (I highly recommend this for any parent, if available). We brought up my concerns and were told that the facility was "mentoring" this staff member. Due to the lack of promptness in addressing our concerns regarding the welfare of our child we decided to remove our children from a potentially unsafe environment. We wish it didn't take multiple notices of concern for a staff member to finally understand and take immediate and appropriate action. Our overall experience with this facility is that the established staff members look at this as more than a job and it is evident in their interaction with the children and parents. I hope that the newer staff member(s) reach that level of professionalism; however, we were not willing to risk our kid's welfare in order for them to reach that point. To anyone sending their child(ren) here please be vigilant in advocating for your child(ren); use the monitoring service; communicate with the staff, because for the most part they do try to work with you. read more

I would like people that use this as a tool, to get real insight on this daycare/preschool. People usually only put a bad experience that they personally may have experienced , and do it when they are upset,so it sounds worse than it is (like the previous review). I have 2 little boys and the list of people I trust to take care of them does not go beyond my family. My boys are 5 and 2. We have been going to Childrens Lighthouse in Little Elm since my oldest was 18 months. My 2 year old has been there since infant. I have plenty of experience with the facility and the staff. I love this place. They are an extension of my family and treat my children that way. If I ever had a concern they address it immediately and make sure all is well. They go above and beyond to make sure the children are well cared for and educated. Both of my children have learned so much in their days at lighthouse. The teachers, each and everyone they have grown with, make sure the kids are happy and taught good lessons. The curriculum is amazing and very well planned. The summer curriculum is awesome as well, as they bring in all sorts of different activities that the kids love. I have never had to question if my kids are ok. When I drop them in the morning my kids go right in and say "by mommy". No worries at all when they are there. The owner keeps up with everything that's going on and runs a tight ship. I would recommend this child care facility to everyone who wants their child cared for while they are away. We will be there until my boys are to old to go!!! My boys have made so many friends there as well, because they have been with the same kids the whole time. Everyone stays when they experience the care that Lighthouse gives. read more
