She had received an appointment confirmation five days ago. On arrival, we were very politely informed that she didn't have an appointment, that her appointment was canceled via phone message on Jan 9 (it's presently May 22) and that her provider wasn't taking any new patients. There are also no other providers at the location seeing new patients. The phone message could not be verified as my daughter deleted the older voicemails on her phone. Although my daughter didn't remember the message, I feel sure the call was made. But why was she still in the reminder system? This is confusing at best. I understand the that within this area there is a tremendous shortage of primary care practitioners, and wait times reflect that need. But offering contradictory and confusing contact with patients is something that can be addressed with relative ease. The integrated contact system that Optum employs can be wonderful, please make sure that the various parts of the system reflect changes made at any other part of the system. I hope that the IT administrator will consider this constructive criticism to integration of patient facing communications.

Walked directly in to the lobby reception and was greeted by two friendly desk associates. The check in required photo identification for both of us. Clear instructions to the Dr Office on the first floor. DR CHOI's office: Checked in by Kelly~ friendly and efficient. Nearly immediately checked with procedures and sent us to X~ray registration on level one lobby. ( this seemed like the only redundant process) there was no line, so we were able to check in quickly with the friendly desk representative who knew we were on our way- Good communication between Kelly at Dr Choi's office and Radiology reception. Within minutes we were on the way to 2nd floor radiology. RADIOLOGY: smooth arrival experience ( I recommend that you snap a photo of your script for your records before handing it over. They were accommodating for this when we asked, this may save time from having to ask for records later. WAITING: one other patient was in the waiting room when we arrived. The waiting room is organized, well lit, and clean. There is a TV The wait was reasonable and brief about 7 minutes. Erica and student Tammy greeted us and requested the script ~ we directed them to the desk agent. Within a minute, they left for X-ray. More pleasant staff. All is going smoothly for Radiology. From the moment I arrived, I was quickly swept up in the smooth and caring processing and care of hospital staff: after a thorough preliminary exam, I was soon transferred to the hospital itself for 24 hours of careful and thoughtful treatment. I was deeply moved by the kind attention of every member of their staff and the warm dynamic they employed. Discharged yesterday, I am now slowly returning to normal thanks to the unquestioned care of this fine institution and dedicated staff. We are lucky to have this kind of quality option in the mid Hudson Valley.

When I went in for my 6 week follow up I saw a different OB who clearly hadn't even glanced at my chart and casually asked me if I had my tubes tied during the c section (which momentarily scared the shit out of me because I thought maybe he was reading that on my file). I was also never asked about my mental state or if I was having any postpartum depression, which I understand is common practice with other doctors (and actually, my baby's pediatrician asked me how I was feeling). All in all, I feel like this practice put me through quite an ordeal without any real support or patient care, especially postpartum.

We decided to leave because our child deserves better and the evaluation would never be accurate. Stay away from this doctor you can do better. Her evaluation is just reading you back notes from what you have received from other places. Do your job better Diane treat people like humans not cattle.
