Kindred killed my father in law. He went there for "rehab" and was pronounced dead less than 2…read moredays later by ME. The staff did not recognize him as dead, left a bi-pap face mask on him that did not fit and constantly slipped into his mouth instead of hugging his chin. He kept asking us to call 911 and now we understand why. After RT changed his face mask something happened. My father in law had some type of event following/during this and a vital check. The "nurse" stated he had a heat beat and thought two different portable BP monitors weren't working when she could not obtain a blood pressure. We thought he looked like he had died, but couldn't confirm because the vent was still blasting into his ill fitting face mask. I went to my car and got my stethoscope and confirmed what I suspected. He was gone. They were unable to get a BP because it was too low or non existent. They used disposable stethoscopes that aren't ideal when trying to determine death. Respiratory therapy was lost, the nurses were lost , they all ran out of the room when I Informed them that he was indeed dead and there actually wasn't a heart beat and this is why they couldn't get his BP. Nobody knew how to effectively communicate and they seemed highly uneducated. 30 minutes after dying a nurse casually and loudly asked my husband (while on the phone with the organ donation place) if we'd be willing to donate his eyes. Not once but twice. They never put the order in for his body to be released to the funeral home after asking about it multiple times. Stay as far away as possible. I cannot believe this place is legal or open. Clearly they are not being monitored closely enough by the state. Also we were told the only Dr on site is located in the ER and he wasn't available to floor patients unless there was an emergency. This wasn't an emergency?? He was DNR. That's all they kept saying, he's DNR. Although they thought they could do compressions on him until I educated them. DNR does not mean do not provide care. I saw 2 patient slumped over their side rails crying for help, a woman with a trach choking on her secretions. and overall incompetence and neglect. Absolutely disgusting.

My father was here for a month and his care was exemplary. The front desk ladies were always a pleasure upon check in, offering snacks and water. You immediately notice how clean and tidy the facility is, with masks and sanitizer available always at the entrance. Given my father's condition and special needs, I was concerned that he would decline but luckily, his care was superb. The nursing team, in particular Patricia and Licia (amazing care from those 2), along with Doreen, Abner, Daisy, and several others (sorry can't recall all their names) were rockstars! My dad's care required much patience and skill and they went above and beyond to provide that. CNA team was also wonderful in particular Ariyana (absolute sweetheart), Umar, Joe, Courtney, Irene and Diana...what an awesome team. They work very hard and I often wonder how many times a day do they get a thanks! Additionally, Monserrat from food services would come almost daily to check up on him and ensure his meals were enjoyable which they absolutely were, and just chat with him for a bit to make his days more enjoyable. She was an angel and we couldn't be more grateful for her extra care. Lastly, but just as memorable were administrative personnel: Kendra from case management and Maria Miranda from patient services, WOW what a pair of aces. Both were reachable, approachable and always willing to help at anytime. They really went the extra mile to provide support and ensure all the questions I had (which were always a lot) were answered and the family felt secure with his care plan. Maria even went as far as following up after his transfer to see how he was doing...unprompted by the way. Amazing services all around from a great team! They are *booked so far in advance* that I cannot get in for even one more appointment for two weeks. Sadly, this seems to be the norm (one appointment here, another appointment there); it is apparent that three visits/week are not possible, so I will be researching other clinics where I can receive the care needed for the very recent TKA. This saddens me, because I really liked the physical therapist and PTA I worked with those three appointments.

They were excellent until covid came along. In the process they allowed fear to take over and made an agreement with a large corporation. I didn't see much change until September this year when I needed them again. Now I seriously am thinking of changing if I can find someone else who can do what I need. This new company sold them a package which changed everything for the worse. The service has deteriorated quickly since September. Communication and scheduling has suffered. I was supposed to be having therapy once a week and in November was seen once. I find no fault with the people in the field. They are struggling to do their jobs. The parent company also tried to introduce a vaccine mandate. Even doctors are having difficulty scheduling their patients for therapy. Just a heads up. I hope things will get better but it doesn't look promising.
