Each room has a large window, and its own bathroom with toilet, large shower with a padded bench, and sink. Each cottage has a wonderful covered porch with comfortable furniture. There is also an enclosed patio. One building is for memory care residents, so it is locked. The other building is not locked. The property has lovely, large, shady oaks, and a large lawn where I like to have picnics with my mother. Most important is the administration and caregivers. There is a full time nurse, activities director, chef, manager, and the all important caregivers. They are all wonderful, caring individuals for whom I am so grateful for.

Residents often wonder around searching for someone to help them. i have seen several aides hiding in the cafe between meal times so they can chat on their cell phones. Aides have even been know to nap while on duty. I've overheard aides tell residents that they are 'bothering them' because they are chatting with each other. The call buttons they give the residents to wear around their necks are useless because the staff completely ignores them & never responds when called. The housekeeping is a joke. The food if horrible. It's all processed, frozen & out of cans. The refuse to transport them to medical appointments.

On November 23, 2019 Grandpa was moved from memory care room 48 to memory care room 35 because of a…read morebed bug infestation, as told to me by the staff. The name tag on his old room that still contained some of his personal items and is unoccupied says "RICE CRISPIE". Today I went to the room to retrieve his personal items from room 48 and made a complaint to the staff and Director. The staff admitting to seeing it...but left it. In the past I found Grandpa lying in a soiled bed, with a soiled room floor, and a soiled bathroom on a Friday around 11am. The staff admitted to me he had been left that way from the night before and the staff was angry because he had been fed ice cream and didn't want to clean him or the room up. We also discovered him sleeping in someone else's room with a mouth full of denture adhesive. Grandpa passed on December 8, 2019 and is finally free of this horrible place. Please look up why someone would be called the term above and you will be disgusted to think a dementia patient, WWII veteran, and loved one could be addressed this way by a so-called health care provider.

They also kept losing her clothes and bedsheets. Would not recommend. However, if you chose this place, DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLE STUFF IN THEIR CARE.

I understand that administrative matters can sometimes take time, particularly after the death of a resident. But families dealing with the loss of a loved one should not also have to repeatedly pursue money that is owed to them or struggle to get a clear response from management.

That is the only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. When it came time to have them leave, all went wrong with the billing and finances. They were charged double rent TWICE during the months we were working on moving them out to be with family in another state. I HAD to find the errors and chase them with the property finance person - one was refunded promptly, the other refund has dragged out for months after dozens of emails, many ignored and unanswered. I kept pushing for an answer and was finally told it would be refunded, but was "so old" from November of 2023 it would take several more weeks. It never happened. Now their finance rep says they don't owe us the double payment refund and to "look at their ledger" and sent me a copy. Means nothing when we have a charge twice taken from our bank and I have to justify and decipher their ledger? NO WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER, much less a family in our position. Lack of customer service and follow through is appalling. No way to treat a family or run a business.
