    Dai chi tofu

Fantastic Hakka Chinese food, very similar to Chili Pepper House (Vancouver), Green Lettuce (Vancouver/Surrey), and Indian Wok (Burnaby). No frills decor but comfortable enough, with very efficient, fast, and friendly service. My wife & I ordered to share: -Dai Ching Tofu ($17.25) -- dry, fried tofu dish with celery, onion, and bell peppers, cooked with a delectable spicy seasoning. Wonderfully crispy tofu that works well with the crunch of the celery and onion. Awesome dish. -Okra curry ($15.95) -- really nice Indian-Chinese curry with lots of diced okra, bell pepper and cabbage, along with some tomato, potato, and onion. Spicy, savoury and moderately rich. Wonderful -Assorted vegetables with Manchurian sauce ($14.95) -- simple mixed veggie dish, but cooked with a wonderful, savoury, lightly spicy Manchurian sauce. Excellent. We loved all three dishes. The portions were generous -- we had plenty left to take home for lunch the next day. All in all, absolutely top-notch Hakka Chinese.

Crispy beef, chicken chow mein and side or rice

I saw some mixed reviews on this place but we loved it!!! The chicken chow mein had a unique smokiness flavor to it that we are STILL talking about. We did the crispy beef which was fine - standard Chinese restaurant fare. The chow mein, beef and small order of rice came out to about $38 USD - not too bad in our opinion!!! The ambiance was definitely hole in the wall style but staff was great and we received our food relatively quickly and with two littles in tow, that means all the things. We'd come back & would recommend it for an affordable, yummy meal!!

I didn't know about this place until a frend mentioned about this in her favourite restaurant. Indian style chinese food is available at few places in surrey and the well known one is green lettuce or dragon wok recently but let me officially tell you that this place surpass the other two in Indian style chinese food. Don't expect any fine dining or lit vibes here but just food. Simple dinner with no fancy facilities. ( low key don't know if they even have AC or heat) I have had late lunch during winter but didn't feel cold so i am guessing there is heat. Plenty of vegetarian food options and equal amount of tofu items are also available for vegetarians . Meat lovers don't get disappointed. There is everything available including beef, lamb, chicken, pork and sea food.

This is definitely one of my top 5 go to-s for a good delicious dinner, very filling and great portions, affordable and the quality is excellent. A beautiful fusion of different Asian tastes and a huge variety of dishes. I love how the menu is organized by type of meat and dish type, so even if you're not familiar with the cuisine and don't like an overwhelming variety of items in the menu, this is still easy to go through and make a decision on what flavours suit your cravings best. Highly recommended dishes: shrimp fried rice, Manchurian beef, garlic prawns, and chicken pakora. Vegetarian options available too and the meat is Halal.

    Dry, thin chicken

Ordered take out. Probably the WORST we have ever had. Burnt spring rolls and when bit into it - hardly anything inside!!!! Chicken was tiny pieces, and way overdone.. dry and terrible tasting. When calling the restaurant the person said to call door dash for a refund - door dash refused - called restaurant back and they basically said it was their "style of cooking". Good to know - Chile House's "style of cooking" is burnt and really s***y customer service. The fact they don't take responsibility for really terrible food is disappointing. Never again!!!

Chinese and Indian, what a unique fusion Chili House Restaurant has perfected! Yelp led us to another winner. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch - we were able to come for their Weekday Lunch Special for $9.25 with a drink included. I chose the Masala Mixed Chicken & Shrimp Fried Rice in Mild. This was probably one of the best fried rice we both had, it had a wonderful "wok-hay" flavour - smokey and deep - and the fried rice wasn't overly oily or soggy. The chicken and shrimp were great and the subtle masala taste was nice. I probably could have done medium spice but mild was perfect for no sweat. My boyfriend had the Curry Beef with Vegetables in Very Spicy. The curry flavour was unique and different - it really tasted like a fusion of chinese and indian curry! It was definitely made to an accepted very spicy level. The Beef was tender and well-marinated, we only wish there was more of it on the plate. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The service was really pleasant, efficient and welcoming. Overall, we are super happy with this new found restaurant and we'll definitely be back to try more of their fusion food - especially the Manchurian dishes, which seem to be a favourite in the other reviews. Plenty of free parking, it's located in the same complex as H-mart, and they accept credit cards.

Manchurian beef chow mein - so yummy!

I had heard raves about this place and finally decided to try it. I had never tried Chinese-Indian cuisine before and didn't know what to expect. I decided on the Manchurian beef chow mein as that seemed a safe enough bet. I got takeout and was pleasantly surprised by the 10% discount and friendly service. However, it was the food that was the real star. The chow mein was so good! It was spicy, but not overly so where the spice would overwhelm everything. The portion was very generous with lots of meat pieces. Definitely one of the best chow meins I've had. If you've never tried Manchurian style chow mein, the best way to describe it is like Cantonese style, but with a more umami, richer flavor - almost like Southeast Asian (Singaporean/Malaysian/Thai). I will definitely be back to try more dishes. This place lives up to the reviews!

My husband was craving Chinese food and I was craving spicy , so I was like " why not Indian Chinese = Hakka food" . Brilliant idea .So we went ahead and got a takeout order from this place for us and parents . Our server wasn't very knowledgeable or maybe had a language barrier but the owner was there and was very helpful and friendly . We were the only ones in the restaurant and later one family joined us which is totally understandable as of the weather conditions outside . Anywho so we ordered Masala Chicken & Shrimp fried rice, Veg Hakka noodles , Sweet and sour chicken and Chicken Manchurian . Everything was very delicious except the veg Hakka noodles - was a bit too oily and wish they had used the thinner noodles with less onions . Will definitely go back to this place again to serve my Hakka food cravings .

Manchurian chicken and shrimp fried rice 5/5

This restaurant was great! We ordered two things : 196 - Manchurian chicken and shrimp fried rice 154 - Haaji Veggies (dry); both were excellent dishes. The fried rice had a good kick in spice, the light charred flavor of fried rice was perfect. The veggies were lightly battered, not too greasy and pretty tasty. So many spices. I would rate food 5/5, service 5/5 (get there when it opens 1pm Sunday). If you're in the Langley area this place is similar to Vancouver's Chilli Pepper House on Rupert@Kingsway. I will be back to try more dishes for sure.

It was supposed to be my final meal of this leg of my Vancouver food trip, and with so many…read morerestaurants to choose from, I decided to trust my gut and head to Dragon Wok. Faced with two locations, I picked the newer one for reasons I can't quite explain, and thus began an amazing journey. The spacious parking area was a great start, and as soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a bright, soothing, and clean environment. The Far East vibes were unmistakable, with signs all around confirming I was in a Chinese place. A polite girl greeted us and guided us through the extensive menu, helping us choose the best dishes and combinations. To give some context, Indo-Chinese food originated in Kolkata, Bengal, and evolved as it spread across India, with each region adding its own twist. My favorite is Bangladeshi Chinese, known for its aroma, toned textures, and balanced, soothing sauces and condiments. Although Indo-Chinese variations have diverged from their Bengali-Chinese roots, I was hoping to find something that would closely match my taste preferences. That's when a gentleman named Abrar approached us. To my delight, he was from Kolkata, the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine. He took the time to understand our preferences, crafting recommendations that seemed tailored just for us. He went above and beyond, even deciding how to tweak their original dishes to match our taste buds. We decided to go all out with his suggested combinations. We started with the appetizer, the Spicy chili garlic wings, and they were incredible--thin, yet with the crispiest crust, perfectly balanced with the chili garlic sauce. They were well-marinated with no gaminess, and the juicy inner layer contrasted beautifully with the crunchy exterior. 5/5. The Masala Fish blew us away--it was unforgettable. It wasn't overly spicy; a hint of sweetness brought out the flavors, with a light, airy crunch giving way to melt-in-your-mouth fish. The Crispy Chili Beef was very special. It wasn't dry, with a perfect semi-crisp exterior and juicy interior. Each bite validated how beef should be cooked. The sauce was perfectly balanced, neither too salty nor too sour. The Ginger garlic chicken was stir-fried to perfection, super soft with a soothing gravy, and the perfect blend of oriental sauces. Everything was balanced just right. The vegetable Hakka chowmein were not too oily, and though the noodles were a bit thinner than usual, they complemented every entrée so well it felt like a match made in heaven. Finally, the dessert--Ice cream with fried banana--was an ingenious creation. The warm, crunchy banana paired perfectly with the cold ice cream, creating a delightful ending to the meal. The girl at the reception (sorry, I didn't ask her name) was incredibly cordial, checking in on us several times and even offering complimentary green tea. Abrar also checked in on us a couple of times, providing exceptional service. I noticed him being attentive to every customer, offering nothing short of the best service you can get in a restaurant. I know taste buds vary, and Indo-Chinese palates differ across the subcontinent, but as someone extremely picky about Indo-Chinese food, I feel I had my best Indo-Chinese experience in North America at Dragon Wok. You're in good hands with these experts from the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine.

The menu is extensive, offering everything from classics like General Tso's and lo mein to more unique options. With so many choices, there's something for everyone. The food always comes out hot and flavorful, and the staff is friendly and efficient. It's a great spot when you're craving Indo-Chinese food and want big portions that satisfy. We got veg fried rice, Manchurian chicken, and shrimp chow mein and honestly those plates were wiped clean. It was enough for four starving people. I'm tempted to come back and try their soup and other things on the menu. Can't wait!

Our party of six waited over an hour to be seated. If my mother hadn't spoken up, we likely would have waited even longer. Although reservations are not accepted, guests are placed on a waitlist upon arrival. Our name was clearly on the queue, but not in Korean and while I initially understood smaller parties of two or four being seated ahead of us based on table availability, concerns arose when another party of six--who was behind us in line (name was written in Korean--was seated before us. This was deeply frustrating, as we were next in line for a table that could accommodate six people. When we raised the issue, the hostess admitted it was a mistake, yet still chose to seat the other group first. They were 5th in the queue. Despite our complaint, there was no sincere apology, and we were forced to wait an additional 10 minutes while they set up another table. The entire situation left us feeling unfairly treated and discriminated against. As loyal customers who regularly spend over $300 per visit ordering family combos, extra dishes, drinks, and more, this was incredibly disappointing. Sadly, we will not be returning. There are many other restaurants that treat their customers with fairness, respect, and appreciation.
