The chicken momo is delicious and filled with chicken unlike some places that reduce the filling. The pani puri puris weren't that crispy but I think that was because I ordered for delivery and it got a bit cold. The potato filling it comes with was ok. Chicken biryani was a huge portion, enough for 3-4 meals. A little too spicy for me (got mild-medium). The chowmein I got was vegetarian and I wished it had a bit more vegetables. READ ITS INTERESTING REVIEW-: I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 4 years, and what happened today was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. One of the owners, Mr. Bishnu, knows me very well since I've been coming here regularly for years. A few months ago, when I tried to order a plate of noodles, I was told the wait time would be 40 minutes, so I cancelled the order. After about an hour, I called back thinking the wait might be shorter, but I was told it would now take 50 minutes. I still agreed to wait and picked up the order. At that time, I left a 1-star review because of the excessive wait time, but later I realized it might have been harsh and I deleted the review. However, what happened today completely changed my perception of this place. I went there to refer a friend for a job, because Mr. Bishnu himself had previously asked me to bring her. Instead of a normal conversation, he confronted me about that old review. During the conversation he said that if I "behave like this" I will not be welcomed at the restaurant anymore -- simply because I once left a review about slow service. The attitude was extremely egoistic and disrespectful. Even when I calmly tried to explain that this is not the way you treat a customer who has been supporting your business for years, his response was shocking. His exact words were essentially: "It's fine if you don't come. It won't make any difference to my restaurant. Even Mr Bishnu used a word " I don't care and F*ck about people" Imagine telling that to someone who has been coming here for 4 years, recommending the place to friends, and bringing new customers who also continued coming. This kind of arrogance toward loyal customers is unbelievable. A business should value feedback and long-time customers, not threaten them or dismiss them because of one honest review about service delays. After today's experience, I honestly feel disrespected and unwelcome, and I would strongly suggest other customers think twice before supporting a place where customer loyalty clearly means nothing. My husband and I were returning from Victoria from 9pm ferry and there were not many options available at 11pm. We were staying in Delta area so wanted to have something nearby. Found this gem on yelp and placed an order to-go 10 mins before closing. I was not sure whether they would entertain us but they did. The momos as well as chutneys were authentic and tasted awesome. We had such good momos after a long time. The service was quick - they told us 25-30 mins but momos were ready when we reached there in 10 mins. The prices are reasonable as well. Located in a strip mall on 72 by king George. The location isn't great but the food is amazing! I have been several times and usually get veggie dishes but last night I had the tandoori fish. It comes sizzling to the table with mint chutney. I ordered a naan to go with it. It was too much for one meal for me. If I was sharing dinner I would definitely get the fish and mixed veg with naan and 2 Chai. On previous visits the service has been slow But last night it wasn't bad I was there were only one or two other tables being used. I recommend grabbing a menu when you go in and putting your order for Chai right away. Friendly staff and delicious good. I hear the chilli fries come highly recommended. We ordered the chilli chicken momo's and the paneer hakka noodles. Momo's are pretty much like dumplings with Nepalese spice. These ones are juicy and are full of flavors. Met up somewhere in between Langley and Richmond and something random and ended up at Spice of Nepal. This is a mix between Nepalese and Indian. This is another place where the food is the star. The restaurant decor is a mix of what could be a small banquet hall, could be a mini sports bar and a no frills eatery. There were a couple of men sitting at the bar eating and watching the football game, but the tables were full of people, people kept streaming in for take out. So much going on only meant good things were to come. We ordered the Deep fried Chili Chicken Momo balls..these were absolutely delicious with a tangy sauce coating the balls...one order had 10 Momo balls and that was surprising as only expected a few. These balls came either fried or steamed, I wanted to try both and asked for half and half but they didn't do that...too bad. We also ordered the Hakka style chow mein with meat...was a good portion of noodles with spice...I love noodles and enjoyed this dish, noodles were not too soft and ate very well. Chicken curry...somehow I always think curry portions are small at any Indian restaurant but always end up with leftovers. The taste was rich and deep with spices. The amount of chicken was good as well. Unfortunately, they ran out of naan bread so we ordered two rotis, I have better, however went well with the curry. The server asked how spicy we wanted and I love spicy, but glad we went with medium. Medium definitely had enough bite to make my mouth burn...so if you can't take spicy I suggest mild. My love for momos made my husband to drive 35 Kms to Surrey :). The restaurant is spacious with clean bathrooms. Our server, who I think was owner too, was really sweet. We ordered chicken momos jhol, chilli chicken momos and chicken curry thali. If you can come on weekday, do try their lunch thali which is for just 9.99 I guess. Chilli chicken momos had deep fried momos tossed in some sauce, spices and vegetables. Momos were juicy and the overall combination was amazing. Chicken momos jhol has steamed momos in tomato onion based curry and tasted good. We had ordered a lot and couldn't eat much from thali, so got it packed. It had rice, naan, a cumucumer carrot veggie, chicken curry, sautéed greens, dal and mix vegetable along with curd and kheer. Everything tasted like home cooked food and was yummy. read more

I've been wanting to visit for some time, back when it was in Cloverdale. since I knew the owner from his Planet India days and if you look, I'm a major Planet India fan. I'll now be splitting my time between PI and SoN. Let's talk Momos, shall we? They look like xiao long bao, but they are completely different. You can get them steamed, deep fried or tossed in chili. Get them all. We only had the steamed but I honestly can't imagine the other ways aren't going to be as delicious. They are served with two great sauces, one more curry-driven and the other more of a spicy tomato. Eat them both. Then there is the prawn chile. It was completely unexpected from a flavour standpoint. Almost like Thai food and Indian food got down and dirty one night to create this dish. Rich gingery sauce, chunks of bell pepper and onions, and the protein of your choice. The prawns were perfectly cooked and delicious. And then there was the Jackfruit Curry. It's got a very unique flavour and texture, something I'd never experienced and will absolutely go back for. For for uninitiated, Jackfruit is kinda like pineapple in texture, but is must less sweet and more mildly flavoured. Nothing to be scared of here. Cooked in the curry, it's unlike anything I've had before. And finally, the naan. Oh the naan. True perfection. The guy they've got cooking it is an artist. It's a completely unique dining experience in the Surrey area. If you like North Indian food, Nepalese is not much of a departure (and they have all the Indian favourites on standby). It's very sad to see this restaurant has lowered their quality. I came here with friends after waiting nearly 2 years for the Canada border to open. The food was not as good as I remembered, like they were skimping on ingredients or had hired a bad cook. One friend ordered a lamb dish but it turned out to not be what he thought it was, so he refused to eat it and asked the waitress to take it back. However, the management refused to take it off the bill. This is very poor customer service. Our waitress was very kind and patient but that's not enough to bring us back to this restaurant. I'm quite sad as this was a place I always looked forward to visiting when in BC, but I told my husband I'd be fine with never going back there again. read more

Yes I have to write up a really good 4 star review for this place. Actually a 4.5star review, cause I'm happy. Recently had a wonderful dinner here. Was worried about those other high rated reviews with Yelpers that had not much reviews themselves. So I had to see if they were really legit. Nepalese food from their family recipes (mom ) and good Indian food. The Nepalese dishes were spot on! Momo's were average, but the sauces made up for them. The spicy chicken momo's really stood out as they were deep fried and then pan fried with chilies and peppers and onions. The only set back was I wished they had some super homemade chilli sauce. Maybe they keep it in the back for themselves. Yknow the homemade sauce that is too spicy to offer In a restaurant. ;) Each of us had different dishes. Mine was the Bhindi Masala (okra) which was very good and spicy. Perfect dish. The Chicken Tas with popped rice was amazing. Japanese Food Critique loved it and wants to come back for more. Butter chicken was very good. The Nepalese Chili prawns were ok. Not spicy at all, a bit sweet. Maybe the order was confused at ordering the dish. Nepalese chow mein was very good. The Basmati rice was different. I didn't notice anything but others commented on it. Place is clean and food is good. Very near deserving a 5 star review. If you are in Vancouver and you want authentic Nepalese food, YOU HAVE TO GO HERE! They have so many vegetarian options! The owner told us that they make everything from scratch everyday, and to be honest you can tell that from the food they make. They make amazing mango lassi too! We are WILD about the momos! We have been there around 10 times. The flavor profiles are so intriguing, and when you ask for a particular heat - it's exactly what you get. You know that feeling when you're at a restaurant and ask for Medium, but get blazing hot, or a bowl of "meh"? Not here. There are a lot of different dishes to choose from. It's not your typical Indian restaurant by any means! I am not a vegetarian, but the steamed vegetarian momos are all MINE when they get to the table. It's like you have a Nepalese best friend and they cook from scratch for you in their kitchen. We're in love, and it's our go-to when we want Asian of any kind, now. (Except for maybe Dim Sum. This is definitely one of the better places to have indo-chinese kind of food.Not purely indo-chinese , but if you like spices and a kick in your food then this is the place for you.Since this was our first time in there, we did'n experiment much and just ordered Chicken Momos and a veggie Chowmien (spice levels- pretty spicy). I liked the chowmien pretty much, because they actually made it spicy, as I suggested. Momos were Super Authentic, may be thats why I didn't like them much :P. Its was juicy but I didn't like the taste of turmeric in the filling.And they serve moms with 2 chutneys, one of the them is regular chilli one you get everywhere but the other one made of mustard, which was different but tasty. I would say it was not exactly the same indo-chinese (street food not the ones from restaurants) as we get back home in northern parts of India specially in NCR area.It was rather pretty authentic Nepalese food. Most flavourful food we've had in a restaurant in a long time. We asked for '0' spice level and the dishes still had a lovely punch that lingered in your mouth. We had the House Special Chow Mien and chicken momos with butter chicken sauce. The butter chicken sauce was delicious so we'll be ordering the Butter Chicken entree next time. Also, the mains like lamb biryani, chicken dishes are great. It can get a little too spicy so let the host know about your spice tolerance. If I takeout, they usually get it ready in 20-30 minutes. Right off the bat, the one star is not due to the food but due to the service. As soon as my partner and I walked in, we were set aside. It took them almost 10 minutes to take our order; this is with there being only 3 other parties at the restaurant. 2 more parties came a while after we did and they were taken care of. Those same parties received their food before we did. To give perspective on how long we waited for our food; we arrived at 4:40pm and we had to leave at 6pm after not receiving even an explanation as to why our food was taking so long. I really wish we would've been able to try the food, but unfortunately that was not possible. Hopefully this doesn't occur to anyone else and they give optimal service.
