I've never had such a frustrating dining experience. We were seated and then completely ignored for 25 minutes--no server, no drinks, nothing. I finally had to go up to the hostess myself, who told me someone named Henry was supposed to be helping us and that she'd "find" a server. Meanwhile, a larger party was seated after us and already had drinks before we were even acknowledged. About 10 minutes later, a different server came over, apologized, and took our order. The appetizer came out, but then we waited another 30 minutes with no sign of our meals or our server. During that time, I noticed the manager walking around checking on tables--except ours. He walked right past us without saying a word. At that point, I had to flag down another server just to ask for the manager. When I explained everything, he said he'd "make it right" by removing the appetizer and a kids meal. That didn't fix the experience. When the food finally arrived, my "medium" steak was completely well done. At that point, I was so frustrated I didn't even want to deal with sending it back. Then came another long wait just to get the bill, and to top it off, the kiosk wasn't working--so I had to physically get up and go to the back to pay. We were there for over two hours, mostly just waiting and being ignored. The service was terrible from start to finish, and the food didn't make up for it. Definitely not worth the time or money. Family favorite. My family comes here all the time .for all occasions. We're here right now celebrating my oldest baby boy's 17th birthday.

Everything was wonderful especially the margarita, all of the hosts were polite and patient, which made for a wonderful experience.

I was honestly shocked when I went to lunch with my coworkers at this local chilis. My experience with the franchise has been pretty negative in the past. Most establishments are short staffed and service is poor. Not at the Homewood location. We were greeted at the door with a friendly smile from the hostess. Ordered food from here to be picked up at 7:18 PM. I went in at 7:30 because the food was still not done, they informed me that the soups were frozen and that's what they were waiting on. I said OK, I continue to wait. 25 minutes passes and finally my order comes out. I ordered the secret sauce burger with no pink. I ripped my burger in half and there is so much pink inside. It was disgusting. My watermelon tea was warm. My white cheddar Mac and cheese which was an additional $1 charge was halfway filled. My fiancé's soup was extremely watery to the point where it looked like there was tons of ice cubes that melted inside of it. His mac & cheese was also only filled halfway. The burger was really bad. I don't know what's going on with this location . But a huge waste of $ The girl at the to go station was really nice, she did apologize about the wait time. The watermelon lemonade was delicious. It's been 12 months (according to my last review) since I've been to this Chili's. I see they've been getting a lot of bad reviews but I saw an improvement from my last visit so that's a plus. As a party of two we came in around 3pm and were sat in the booths to the left of the bar area. They had one server working the whole bar area and tending the bar. We were greeted in a timely manner and given our drinks shortly after ordering them. Our chip trio was brought out by another employee. Everything was good on the trio. The chip tray had a lot of broken pieces and not a lot of full size chips but we made do. For lunch I ordered the baked potato soup and the chicken quesadillas. I found the portion sizes to be very fulfilling. The soup did not come with any toppings or crackers. I chose not to eat my soup because my mom got the chip trio so we shared that and then when the entree came I ate 1/2 of the quesadilla and took the other home for leftovers. I think that pick 3 menu is a great value. My mom ordered the chicken fajitas. She felt like the onions weren't cooked enough and her chicken could have been seasoned a little more. She said the chicken was too light and was lacking flavor but she was pretty hungry so she ate her meal and didn't have leftovers. She didn't eat the rice or beans. The rice was overcooked. We never got/or were offered drink refills. They expect you to pay on the table machines so after the boxes were delivered no one ever came back. Although a convenient way to pay it also gives the server a reason to never come back to the table to see if you need anything else or to say thank you. Halsted doesn't have a lot of dine in options so I find myself always coming back here when visiting home. It's convenient and a hit or miss. read more

Great restaurants especially chains seem to be a dying art. Probably more due to the state of our food supply and quality. At any rate, giving this Chilli's a 3 because they are a staple. Can always count on a fairly decent meal that doesn't break your back. This Chilli's seems to have new management who is on top of things. The steak fajitas trio is one of our go tos. I always get a steak, with broccoli and mash. We had a new server and our order was slightly off but they (incl management) quickly apologized and corrected. Service was A-1. Corn on cob was tasty though some parts over dry. Mash good. Broccoli and steak cooked just right. Needed more seasoning though so added a little salt and pepper and voila. At this restaurant, me and my family of 15 including me, had to wait 45 minutes because a big crowd of Graduates spent over 2 hours eating their food. Although I can understand that some people eat slow or fast, they should've had a duration of time where they either had a limited time or a different table with how ever many graduates were there with however much time they needed. We got to Chili's at 3:30, we didn't get served until 5 or 6:30 that means it took them 2-3 hours to cook our food, also they had no clean cups or plates, which for a food restaurant should have already clean plates/cups or a quick washer to serve customers their food quicker. And there was a smaller family sitting behind us and they came later, we were there before them and they got their food first. I couldn't understand it but, once we got our food 4 out of my 15 family members food were wrong and it took them over an hour to fix. This Chili's needs some real improvement. read more

No one at the hostess stand... finally we get greeted but she runs into the back to "check something" then tells us it's a 10 min wait. This happened the one other time we came here months back when the restaurant was completely empty. No one waiting.. tons of open tables.. I'm starting to think we're not welcome here as a certain demographic as we were the only ones of our kind there.... the fact that we tried to eat here twice and both times we are told to wait when it makes no sense and the restaurant is not busy. He realized before we paid the bill that it was wrong and corrected it. The turnover at this location is ridiculous. I would really like to know who is overseeing this place. Our entrée came out before the appetizer, and the drinks sucked. We had to ask for napkins. I'm going to try another location. We went to Chili's in Homewood IL last night. My wife ordered 1-6oz Ny Strip. And vegetables. I opened it up before I took it home. We got a portion that was cut at 3.5oz. I took it back to the manager and he told me "it was their 6oz cut. They only have 6 and 10oz cuts" It was half the size of my inner palm. I looked at him and nearly bust a gut laughing at him. I told him "I am a chef. I worked in 5 Star 5 Diamond hotels. I know cut sizes." I took it home and weighed it. (Pictures of proof) Furthermore, the Asparagus... Rotten and not cleaned! The roots are still attached! If we get down to brass tax here. Chilis lied and stoled my money! I am considering calling the BBB and Health department. I keep returning to Chili's b/c of nostalgia. I just seen to remember a time of great food, laughs & memories. Unfortunately each time I venture back to Chili's reminiscent of what once was...Chili's finds a way to piss on that memory. On this occasion not only was it poor service across the board but the food left my party taking their blood pressure after being exposed to an excessive amount of salt. Upon arrival our greeting included "a bunch of servers called off so we're behind" fair warning right? Yeah but I'm trying to be "understanding" b/c "these are unprecedented times". I won't bore you with the details but what I will say is enough is enough! We are all dealing with COVID...if my food is not deeply discounted I still hold you to the same expectations before COVID. Secondly, the server BARELY spoke English and had an attitude about how I ordered the food I am paying for. A triple dipper with the burger bites no bacon. The kitchen workers are just as horrible because the send attempt at the burger bites came sloppily made with RAW ONIONS. This is one of the worst Chilis on the south side of Illinois. Customer service is horrible. I've been here several times for pick up and wait in the curbside pick up no one ever comes out to bring the order. I go inside to pick up the order and no is at the counter. I wait 10 minutes, yell hello 5 times, no response. I can see the bartender from where I'm standing, a customer says, someone over there needs help and she says, I'm not trained in that department and walk off. Then I yell hello again nobody respond again, so I looked over the counter to the back and the bartender and another employee just standing there talking amongst each other, then they see me looking and the other employee response was I don't work that area either instead of getting help.
