The ambiance, the service, the cocktails and the food! Every attention to detail was valued and appreciated. The 17th floor view of beautiful Downtown....(wait for it)...Gary, was inspiring. Seriously, you can see the Sears Tower on a clear day and it looked like Oz! This restaurant is one to visit! One to value! One to appreciate! The smoked Old Fashioned was the first clue that this was going to be a good experience. Wood smoked in a decanter and served over a single cube with Rosemary sprig. Perfection! Delicious! I wish I could had the perfect t cigar with it. Appetizers of Ousters Rockefeller were superb. Great sized. Generous toppings. The Waygu meatballs, sauce and perfectly toasted bread almost had me stepping away from my table to "slap the cook" but I composed myself as the perfect gentleman that I am and silently clapped for him. My ribeye was cooked to perfection. Mom had the lamb chops and she said aloud that she was in heaven. I did not want to hear that kind of talk, so I ordered her a prosecco. Ha. She relaxed. We had a few sides, the creamed spinach and the Mac n Cheese and each one did not disappoint. There was no room for dessert, but side note...(this place is located at the Wind Creek Casino just next to a Portillo's and IYKYK- that Chocolate Cake is fire! So make a detour and got ma home. WOW!! This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Usually when I think of top tier steakhouses, I think of Chicago. This is a great option for those who don't like the hecticness of the city. Parking is free and the ambiance of the restaurant is top tier. It was decorated beautifully, and they did not miss any details when decorating this space. The service was great. Our waiter was great, and he gave great suggestions for us. He checked in with us constantly and made sure that we were all very comfortable and accommodated. The food was so good here. They had a quality comparable to downtown Chicago steakhouses. I got the Delmonico steak, and it was amazing. It was seasoned to perfection. I like how the blue cheese crust and the bearnaise sauce was complimentary. We also had the bread service, creamed spinach, macaroni and cheese, parmesan potatoes, beef fat fries, and crab cakes. Everything was exceptional! For dessert, I had the carrot cake cheesecake, and I was impressed at how delicious it was. This may be my 2nd ever 5 star review. The food was great!!! I personally had a Mediterranean bass that was OUTSTANDING!!! The steak was flavorful, the oysters Rockefeller were full of flavor. This was by far the best dining experience my husband and I have ever had. The ambience is first-rate. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Fresh, perfectly executed and delicious food. The outside deck was gorgeous and the views spectacular. I had requested one of the their round semi-circle booths if available and we were lucky enough to get one. The entire staff ran food, no matter whose table it was for. We were actually out on the deck, taking pictures and they came to find us because our food was ready quickly, but it was perfectly prepared. And there was so much food. We celebrated my mom's birthday at Alto Steakhouse by Fabio Viviani, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We initially booked the wrong location and were told there was no availability, but a few hours before our reservation they called us back and made it happen anyway. Even with more guests showing up than expected, the staff pushed tables together, seated some of us at the bar, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate everyone so we could celebrate together. Miguel was outstanding...attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. He brought out multiple desserts for our tables and even put on a little show drizzling caramel over the cheesecake. Orders were accurate, food came out quickly, and everything was delicious. From the paid starter bread to the steaks, lamb chops, Brussels sprouts, and desserts, every dish was a hit. My mom is a tough food critic (she can really cook), and even she said her lamb chops and Brussels sprouts were amazing. The ambiance was upscale with a mature, relaxed vibe spacious dining areas, a nice bar, patio seating, and a pleasant window view. My sidecar cocktail was so good that others ordered it just to try it. You can also see their dry aged meats on display, and the flavor definitely shows. The signature restaurant is located on top of the hotel is Alto Steakhouse. Wind Creek self-describes Alto's by stating that it "redefines the Italian Steakhouse experience with its sleek ambiance and innovative culinary creations, where prime cuts of steak are expertly grilled to perfection and accompanied by an eclectic selection of contemporary dishes, promising an exceptional high-end dining experience." I could not agree more. I have attached the menus so you can decide, and I note that unlike the other restaurants at the Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino, reservations are required at Alto. My started were traditional, heavenly divine and mouthwatering flavorful offerings. 1) Classically prepared Oysters Rockefeller prepared with FRESH oysters, spinach, parmesan, anise and n'duja breadcrumbs. 2) The Lobster Bisque also classically prepared, composed with succulent FRESH Maine lobster, sherry cream, chives and lobster tuille--a creamy delight. Our two entrees were also spectacularly delicious! I ordered the pistachio crusted Lamb Chops served with a unique mustard demi-glace, and three sides: Crispy Brussel Sprouts served with decadent Truffle honey; Crispy Herb Potatoes coated with Parmesan; and Grilled Asparagus with a perfectly smooth Hollandaise sauce and crispy onions. My First Time at Alto This was my first visit to Alto, and while the service was good, the food absolutely knocked it out of the park. I started with the Unicorn drink one of my favorite, and it did not disappoint. The crab cake that followed was so delicious I could've ordered another one to go! For my entrée, I had the Amish chicken with gravy and potatoes, and it was outstanding. Highly recommend it. The service was fine overall, though it could have been a bit more attentive. the ambiance felt like I was downtown Chicago loved the views. Yesterday 8/4 a Tuesday I had made dinner reservations for 6:30pm for my wife's birthday. Three adults. I figured it was a new and exciting thing to enjoy something different. The place was partially filled and the window views were nothing spectacular to see. There's a storm water sewer pit and the I80 expressway. The service was good and the food was typical of a high line steakhouse. However an appetizer, a few cocktails and a bottle of the cheapest red wine including two steaks and one pasta dinner with no desserts ran a ridiculous $800.00. The tip was automatically included on the tab. To be frank another higher end steakhouse would provide the same quality meal at half the price. With everyone stashing cash in the game machines in the Four Winds casino you would think the dining prices would be more reasonable? My steak alone was $115.00. Anyway we enjoyed our time together in a quiet atmosphere but this restaurant is certainly off my to go places. read more

Alto brings elegance and excellent service in a sea of casino pomp and circumstance a la Dave & Busters. We sat in a velvet booth facing East and was there to witness the beautiful sunset aka the golden hour. We were greeted by the amazing server, Jasmine, who exceeded all our expectations. We started with shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare and their fluffy rolls. We also ordered the Bentley and Giardona (mocktail), which were wonderful. Next, we had huge portions of the hand rolled truffle gnocchi, mac and cheese, creamed spinach and a dry aged rib eye. There was so much that we have plenty to take home for another night. The service was excellent and the ambience and views contribute to a wonderful dining experience. We ordered the Spanish Octopus for starters and a glass of wine each. I ordered the King Salmon entree and my dining companion had the Petite Filet. We also had 3 sides for the table; Crispy Brussels, Roasted Mushrooms and the Charred Cauliflower Gratinee. Everything tasted wonderful, however, by early evening both my companion and I experienced food poisoning, which lasted overnight. I'm sorry to have to say we will not be visiting again. An extensive wine list, heavy with wonderful imported Italian wines set the tone for the fresh Aviator shrimp salad and cheesy gnocchi. It was 4 of us and our pre-dinner drink was brought out with just 3 drinks. My French 75 was so delayed my friends couldn't wait any longer to start drinking their drinks. To hopefully speed things up the next time, I ordered a glass of Sauv Blanc wine and what I got was a glass of Chardonnay. When I asked our server Alex about it, his response was, "I'm not sure what I poured but I'll get you another one." WOW... He then came back with a glass of Sauv Blanc. my Guy and I ate at Alto, Today July 12, 2025. First off you don't need to make any reservations. You can just go to the 17th floor and walk in .. Too many issues trying to make reservations online and there's no way to get connected to the steakhouse by phone. Everything is "À la carte". we ordered Rockefelle, which were nasty . They had some breaded mixture on top of them .. I ordered the lollipop lamb chops which were salty as ever with macaroni. The macaroni had the breaded stuff on it also , which I didn't like. My guy ordered a steak which had no seasoning and it was over cooked ,, and they charge 20% gratuity automatically. Our server sucked as well. They need a new cook .. our bill was high as ever and the phone wasn't good .. it's not adding up . read more
