This chilis is absolutely terrible. Ordered 4 burgers for 60 dollars and they were all burned. It was too late to go back by the time we opened the boxes to reveal the charred burgers. You could hear the crunch as you chewed the burger. Called the restaurant and they did absolute nothing to try and fix their mistake. An establishment should not be giving customers burnt food at all. I do not recommend going here at all! read more

Casual dining. Chili's is another of the big chain places that you can find all over the country and this one just opened in Lynchburg. Since Lynchburg is a culinary desert, this place actually was highly anticipated just as a change of pace for everyone. Being new, this Chili's is sparkly and clean which is nice. Also being new, the place is packed out almost every day and night as it is something new to try. The Chili's real estate / location crew did their homework on what town would appreciate a new Chili's and then they dropped the ball by plunking it down on a small piece of property which results in a small and bizarrely laid out parking lot. Bad parking aside, the place has an overall cramped feel to it once you are inside. Decent bar area to the right of the front doors has good and friendly bartenders back there. Drinks are decently made and you can eat there as well. Tables and booths are crammed in the rest of the place and the whole location is noisy - I am guessing because of the small footprint and the crowd stuffed in there. Wait staff is decent - I have tried both the bar and the table service and personally prefer the bar - they just seemed more in tune with what was on the menu. Waiters had issues answering questions around gluten free. Speaking of gluten free, which my wife is a fan of, there is not a whole hell of a lot there that falls into the g.f. column so if you have someone with your party needing that, be aware it is very limited. Menu is extensive with a large selection of pretty much everything you night want to shove in your face to continue the upsizing of American waists. It is all yummy looking and you can find a decent selection of items to fit your taste and budget. Fried asparagus was a hit even though it negated whatever nutrition was in the asparagus to begin with. Fajitas were good, burgers were, surprisingly average. Overall I think you will have a good experience here but if you come wheeling in with a large truck, you are going to have to do some fancy parking maneuvers. So sad. Day one we arrived around 230. Summer our waitress was the best ever. Fast forward day two. 9:26pm. Went over tried opening front door, it was locked. Sign says open till 10p. Knocked to no avail. Finally as some customers was coming out we went in. An employee comes out and while she's busy doing much of nothing tells us that they are closed. I said "your sign say 10 it's not even 930". She says " well tables are closed" so I asked "can we take an order to go". Her reply" no kitchen is closed" and this is while their is a family of six sitting at a table who just finished giving their order and handing their menus back to a waitress. Five stars for customer service! Ordered for our family over the phone for curbside, the girl on the phone was very friendly and the food was ready quickly. We realized we didn't receive one of our orders correctly (which doesn't upset me, I've worked in the food industry and never liked taking orders over the phone!) After calling the restaurant the manager Shaun spoke to us personally and corrected the order and even gave us some desserts. He personally delivered it to our car and apologized. Don't order because it had very breading breading and it was like eating plain hot pickles! My wife had a free chips and salsa and they were way to salty and lacked flavor! (0 of 5)! I was served a well done steak when I ordered a medium. Choked on the well done steak, my son had to yell for help and the store wasn't busy. Went to bathroom because I couldn't breathe to throw up more, one stall was out of order the other wouldn't flush so was throwing up with pee in the toilet. This is the first review I have ever posted. Recently I retired from the hospitality,restaurant business. After a 12 hour drive I decided to stay at the Comfort suites hotel in Lynchburg Virginia very nice property! The hotel is located next to a Chili's, out of convenience I decided to get dinner next door at Chili'. The the soup was served hot with lots of flavor the dinner was very good. The service from the bartender I think her name was Cassy was excellent! I would give her 5 stars ! This restaurant exceeded my expectations. No refills on drinks, disgusting looking nachos, ordered burgers for 3 , only 2 came to the table with no explanation on where the other entre was. I've happened to eat here twice recently, and was pleasantly surprised! The first time I had the steak and it was cooked to a perfect medium. My entree was clearly microwaved, my enchilada soup that I ordered as an app never came and when I told the bartender it never came, he went and grabbed it. It was served barely warm. Take a chill pill and eat at Chili's. The incredible bartender with the Florence Nightingale tattoo is just what the doctor ordered. The food is good and the staff excels at menu knowledge. Chili's has a great location with a generous Happy Hour. Since this restaurant is right across the street from the hotel I often stay at in Lynchburg, I decided to try a to-go order. I had a great experience with this restaurant! Instead of ordering ahead, I walked in the to-go door so I could show them my hotel key for a discount. I was greeted promptly by the employee going in and out to the parking lot. She seemed to multi-task well between taking food orders, delivering curbside orders, and telling people waiting inside that their order was ready. There were also a few other employees who came through there, and they were all very friendly and nice. The sirloin steak I ordered was cooked exactly as ordered and was delicious, along with the sides of broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes. We decided to come to this establishment for lunch on a weekday. It didn't take long to be seated but it did take a while for the waiter to finally come and take our order. The waiter was decent enough but we didn't see them much at all. I think they only came to our table like twice the whole visit. After we placed our food order it took a long time to actually get our orders, the restaurant was not even full so I don't understand that. We both ordered the Cajun chicken pasta and both of our plates came out luke warm if even that. I feel like the plates had to have been sitting in the back for awhile before they were bought out to us. I will say the manager was nice and he did take the plates back for reheating and he did offer us a desert. Once the plate was actually hot it was good. We chose to eat here as my daughter loves chili's. We arrived and they weree slammed do you multiple college sporting events going on. We received 15% off due to showing our top on key for comfort inn. The place wasn't the cleanest, but again they were slammed. Unfortunately they seemed short handed and not prepared for the crowd. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait to get to a table. Luckily we were seated in about 20 minutes. But from walking in to leaving it took 2 hours. We waited for ever for our meal and actually just asked for our desert to go. I was going to go I've them 3 stars but took into consideration that I'm sure tHey we're struggling for having multiple groups of 20+ people show up. read more

Possibly the NICEST staff of all time. 5 Star hospitality, big portions, endless chips, great drinks, and amazing deals. The chefs are pretty decent for a chili's...hit this place up with a group of people and you'll dine like the king of Maryland. I went to the trial opening test kitchen invitation today. Though they didn't offer up the full menu to the test crowd, they did hand out random menu sections on 5 different color coded sheets. You're offered 3 and must order one item from each menu. We got their buffalo style wings, crispy chicken tenders, garden salad and a combo Mexican dish with chili verde chicken enchiladas and soft taco with black beans and rice. Everything was top. I should mention that I've been to Chilis since 1985 in Orlando,FL on Seminole Blvd when I was a kid and to 8 other locations across the continental U.S. and have never had a bad meal or service. I usually go for their majestic baby-back ribs or fajitas but this time (and I was seriously blown away with this time) by their authenticity of real deal buffalo-style chicken wings, srsly, they are the best you can get in Lynchburg. Trust me, I've had wings in Buffalo, NY and this is how they are supposed to be made! I will be back. Also, service was top as expected and even during their trial run. I ate at this location last night. I was disappointed with service. Waited 30 minutes for a table even though there were at least 4-5 high tables, a couple lower tables and a couple booths open. They must have been short-staffed. We noticed a couple un-bussed tables when we sat down that were still uncleared when we left. The food was great but my husband's pasta came out before my appetizer (that I ordered as my meal) and I had to send the waiter back to get my salad that was forgotten. I was a server at Chili's for 2.5 years & I am grossly disappointed in how I was treated last night as a guest. I do not know our server's name but I do know that he is about 5'11", sandy blonde hair & is majoring in Business Marketing at (I'm pretty sure) LU. His "service" & terrible attitude toward me & my 3 friends was absolutely appalling & continues to infuriate me the more I think about it. For one, he showed major impatience toward my friend who was deciding on what she wanted to eat. Rolling his eyes & making annoyed faces at us. When our food came to us, he did not add the avocado I asked for, or my friend's honey mustard (to her original crisper order, which should automatically come with the meal) & was nowhere to be found 5-10 minutes after we received our entrees. He had 2 tables total. What was he doing? And more importantly, what if we didn't like our food? That's a sure sign he did not care about our dining experience. "Check on the guest after 2 bites or 2 minutes" was always our motto at BOTH of the Chili's I worked at in Texas. Apparently that's not the case at Chili's Lynchburg. We got our checks the SECOND time we saw him & he did not even ask us if we wanted dessert. Obviously he doesn't want to increase sales, at least not in an honest manner. When I received my check, I was shocked that the bill was raised to $20 when I got the 3 for $10 meal. I realized he had charged me $3.15 for a "Guac App Only" when the upgrade on the 3 for $10 is only $1.50. And he charged me $2.99 EACH for the sides I changed on the Margarita Chicken. There is NO upcharge for French Fries & Corn at ANY Chili's I have ever eaten at. It was obvious he was trying to steal my money just so the check wasn't only $10-$12. He did the same thing to my friend who changed one of her sides. When I asked him about all of the extra & unnecessary charges, he snapped & snarled at me & said "I have been working at Chili's for 2 years, I'm pretty sure I would know that the Guac app is only served in a ramekin for the 3 for $10 & the sides are extra if you change them." At that point I was FURIOUS. I have NEVER talked to a guest that way, even if they are wrong & I have never been talked to like that when I, myself, am a guest. I immediately asked for a manager. Instead of doing as I asked, he brought back a menu to try to prove me wrong. I took the menu & reminded him I did not ask to speak to him, but what I did ask for was to speak to a manager. About FIVE minutes later, the manager came to my table. As I was speaking to him, our server came to our table & bussed my friend's plates, staring me down the entire time. Not only was I extremely angry at him for having the nerve to come to our table while I was making a complaint about him, I was unnerved by how creepy he was acting. The manager ended up comping my entire meal & corrected my friend's bill. When the server brought us our checks, he looked at me & crumpled mine up in my face!!!!! I WAS DONE. I have no idea who that server thinks he is, but he is not Chilihead material. I am confused about how he even managed to be a server there for 2 years. Whatever that was all about, I ultimately felt disrespected. He acted like he owned the place & he would not be reprimanded for his actions. No matter how wrong a guest might be, you should never act in the manner he did last night. That boy tried to jip the wrong girl. I know the ALOHA system up & down. Don't you dare try to steal my money so the check is higher. I am disgusted. I hope the problem gets resolved ASAP, because I love Chili's. I might change my mind though if something doesn't change at Chili's in Lynchburg. read more

Went to dinner on Friday night. Moderately crowded and seated in 5 minutes. Ordered 2 sandwiches and fries. After 30 minutes and asking server to check on food, it came out. Well most of it...my wife received hers and I received my sandwich but no fries. Server apologized and said she would get them right away. After 5 minutes I went on to eat with no fries. She came back to check on us and we ordered a desert to split and told her that I still had no fries. We got desert and almost finished it when she brought out my missing fries. Needless to say I didn't eat them. She returned to clean up dishes and took everything and noticed that the fries were never touched. Never got an apology, nothing!! Good food but when I ordered the waitress didn't get my order right and I had to repeat myself a lot. My meal then later was wrong, plates badly, and the waitress dropped half of it on the floor! She was also very slow and seemed to have a bit of an attitude when we asked for more chips. Later my little brother was scared to eat his meal because there was a hair on it! The WORST Chili's establishment I've ever attended. Our appetizers took 35 minutes to come out and the food took another 40 minutes to come out. It was only us two, and four other couples there. Appetizers came out cold, as if they were just sitting around for an hour. Food was unseasoned and also just as cold as the appetizers. It's hard to mess up chicken tenders and fries but they did! Granted it was very late, but if you don't want to cook fresh food and only want to reheat chicken that probably sat for who knows how long, maybe you should close earlier. The chicken was hot and not crispy (microwaved) which is bad when they are called chicken crispers and the fries were cold. You heavily salt and pepper the corn but the fries had zero seasoning. It is Saturday and the college town of Lynchburg is hopping. The short stretch of humanity on North and South 29 is packed from stoplight to stoplight. The restaurants are reeling from constituents willing to wait 25-35 minutes for a table. Unwilling to be daunted I call the Chilis near The Comfort Inn & Suites and get the same chilling news, "wait time but you can make a reservation", so I did. Reaching my destination the restaurant boasts a modern appearance with a comfortable patio and glass walls, which on a perfect evening would be great to take in the BlueRidge skyline. After a true 25 minute wait we were seated and greeted with Glen. He promptly brought us drinks in a very hectic floor environment. Several times he was observed bringing out multiple drink orders, seemingly unfazed by the press of people around him. The menu is GREAT, Chilis has presented to customers a nice array for all ages and palettes. I ordered the half rack of ribs dry rub with sides of sauce for dipping- tremendous! Fiancé order the steak burrito but requested the steak be switched for pork... Glen assured it would be done and guess what.... did and done!
