If you're looking for lots of food for a good price, stop on by. I come to Montrose fairly often for shopping and such. Some places in Colorado have Rocky Mountain high prices on their food. Also, so much to my dismay, you're not getting what you're overly paying for. I hadn't been to Chili's in a while. Let alone one in Colorado. However, I was quite hungry and know that they usually have a lunch deal going on so decide to stop on in. I think I did the three for me or whichever they call the menu. Boy oh boy was it a deal. I got a burger, fries, salad, and a drink for around 10 or 11 bucks. Each time I've gone in I've had some great service from the staff. Even when they're busy my wait times have not been all that long. Will keep me coming back is the good deal for a plentiful meal. Also, it's not off the beaten path. First I do want to say the staff and our waiter were excellent! Kids ordered hamburgers and Mac and cheese. My husband and I had a chicken salad. Being I am vegetarian we ordered my chicken on the side and he added it to his salad. Very little salad and it was Wilted. Came here since it opens late and everywhere else on the road closed early. Seated next to the bar and our server was very friendly. They have a decent special for a 3 for 1 deal. I opted to pay a bit more for Cajun shrimp pasta and a margarita cocktail. It was fine, I enjoyed my house salad a lot but they added a lot of cheese on all the dishes. Surprisingly great vibes! Food was great but a little salty. My friends and I just landed and had to get something to grub on and it's great that chilis was open. For what it's worth, this chilis is way better than the chilis I've had anywhere else. Service was wonderful! They were quick, Attentive and respectful. We ordered quite a bit. The only reason this location gets one star, is for the good service the bartender gave me. The salad was more than disappointing. Requested the buffalo chicken salad, which apparently is not on the menu anymore, now I see why. This came with zero requested and paid for blue cheese crumbles, bur rather a runny side of ranch dressing, and another option. This lame meal would have been returned but we live an hour away. Unfilling, unsatisfactory, and Underwhelmed. There were about 7 small cubes of tomato, besides that just lettuce and tortilla chips. Most likely the Worst Salad I have ever purchased. I've been to many Chili's locations in various cities and they are all just about the same. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes it will be great! And other times it will be terrible, even at the same location. This experience was one of the not great ones but I don't fault our server. He had a lot on his plate. He was the bar tender and he had a bunch of tables to serve. I'm not sure if this was business as usual but it's not a good idea in my opinion. He simply couldn't provide timely service and adequate attention to everyone. He was super nice but he definitely seemed to be overwhelmed by his responsibilities and it came across in his service. This could have been a situation where someone called in sick or something so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. But I read a bunch of other reviews and this seems to be a theme here at this location. Management may needs to adjust something to alleviate this situation. I felt bad for the server honestly. He apologized for the wait and thanked us for our patience and we told him no problem. Luckily we were not in a hurry. The food was good and filled us up with good portions. I took my grown daughter to dinner this evening at Chili's in Grand Junction Colorado. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin steak together with a full order of shrimp. The picture in the menu showed about 4 nice size shrimp, but when my food came it included about 8 very tiny, almost popcorn-like shrimp. The steak was cooked just about right but it was the worst most stringy piece of beef that I have ever has the displeasure of eating. I wont be going to Chili's again, anywhere, again. read more

Honestly the food was good and worth the price it was just the service in general that was upsetting. Me and two friends arrived at the restaurant around 4:30 and ended up leaving at 7:00. We should've been out of that restaurant at 6:00 or earlier but our waitress completely forgot about us. She came and checked on us once and only came back when she realized we had been waiting for the bill for an hour. We saw that multiple people arrived after us and got out of there before we could, it was ridiculous we were close to just walking out. Another waitress did come and check up on us and I asked her for the bill and she just simply told us we'll get it when our waitress had time and then she proceeded to just stand around and talk to a coworker. We then waited an hour until a different waitress came and helped us with the bill. Even though it is common courtesy to leave a tip we were upset with how long we had to stay there and left no tip. It was just ridiculous to me how long we had wait to receive help. We just wanted to go home. This is definitely my favorite place in town for good burgers and great appetizers. The food comes out fast and is so good. Chili's definitely went out of their way with the menu and it shows. I get text alerts from Chili's most the time it's for a free alcoholic drink with your entrée when I went in there this time I had a free appetizer I could either get queso or guacamole I had never had either of those and then I had to make the decision of whether I wanted the queso with the beans and the meat or the queso with the spinach I knew I didn't want to guacamole because I've been eaten avocados for a couple weeks I ordered that queso with the beansAnd the meat and it was delicious and we shared it along with our chips and salsa I ordered the salad that had a cheese quesadilla and it was one of their signature salads and it was fabulous I could only eat half of the salad and I got a to go box for the rest and it was still good the next day when I had it for lunch the atmosphere it's just amazing it was so busy the staff and weight service were filling drinks all the time they were very efficient thank you chilies read more

First, I am generally not a fan of chain restaurants...but Chili's usually satisfies. And the one in Montrose Colorado was great. My fish tacos were good...a tad overcooked...but I swapped flour for corn tortillas without issue. And they were tasty! Rice and whole black beans on side very good as well. My husband's Quesadilla Explosion salad was good as well. My iced tea was fresh...no funky taste. My mother in law had the potato soup...and could count the potatoes...not enough. The food is almost always right and the service is great! My only criticism is how FREEZING cold the bar dining is. Lately, the bar is often the only table option available due to COVID restrictions. Tonight I saw a woman go get a blanket from her car. Then my daughter did the same. I hadn't been to a Chili's since a long layover at O'Hare airport. I thought perhaps the small town version might be different, but it wasn't. Mediocre food, average service, and expensive drinks. First, there are no prices on the drink menu! What? This is unacceptable. The wait staff is happy to tell you the prices, but they can't remember all of them and my waitress got it wrong. I ordered the Patron margarita (which by the way was the same price as my entree). I didn't care for it, but that could just be a personal preference -- much too sweet. And I couldn't taste any tequila. The margarita chicken bowl could have been much better. It had the right ingredients, but the rice was bland and there was very little chicken. The waitress had asked "do you want that with sour cream and guacamole?", to which I had replied "sure". She did not mention both of these are extra charge. I suspect Chili's makes their profit on the extras. The entree prices are very reasonable. But they charge extra for everything. At a typical Mexican restaurant I expect a bowl of chips and salsa to be brought without asking. Not here. And the drinks are outrageous given there is very little alcohol. One positive: they have a little kiosk on every table with an electronic menu. The menu was of no value but the fact you can get your bill and swipe your credit card right from the table is great! It suggested a default tip of 20%, which I lowered to 15%. Overall, it was a poor experience. read more
