The buffet also offers made to order pancakes and omelettes. The executive chef specializes as a pastry chef and his talent shows! His cinnamon roll has the perfectly sweet crispy glaze at the bottom and is super fluffy inside. The bacon has the perfect crisp with a sweet maple flavor without sacrificing the crunchy texture and it all melts in your mouth perfectly. I loved it so much that I had to go back for seconds. I can say the same for the country potatoes, although in the catering serving trays, it maintained its crispy outside texture while still fluffy inside and seasoned to perfection. I started with soup which was described as creamy, spicy pork soup. It was neither creamy nor spicy and way too salty. It was served in a weird square bowl as was the salad. For the entree I selected the summer ravioli described as ravioli filled with ricotta and butternut squash in a creamy basil sauce. There was very little filling in most and none had any butternut squash. When I cut open the raviolis, there were chunks of zucchini which I don't care for. read more

I really like Remingtons at the Bridges, been there a couple times and the foods is always great. I've had steak, salads, burgers, all very good. The calamari wasn't my favorite. It was not crispy enough and the sauce wasn't my favorite, but we are in a landlocked state so my experience are never high when it comes to seafood here. I'm not sure why it doesn't have higher reviews. A Truly another Memorable Evening at Remingtons I felt compelled to write another review--first, to correct the new owner's name to Mr. Jennings (not Jenkins) from my recent review and second, to share another wonderful evening I had with my sister at Remingtons. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Dena, and it's clear that under her leadership, along with the incredible team, the restaurant has reached a new level of excellence. Went here for dinner with a group of friends that recommended this restaurant and was horribly disappointed. The center cut steaks were stringy, hard to cut, not very appetizing. Dinner salads very small, but surprisingly the dinner rolls were good. The broccolini was not cooked thoroughly, so basically inedible. Other members in our party were also served cold meals, and ordered items were missing and had to be taken off the tab or were provided in a take-home box. We don't mind paying higher prices for great food, but we honestly have had better quality meals at local chain restaurants. Maybe we just visited them on a bad day, but if this place is going to survive as a higher-end restaurant, management really needs to take a hard look at their overall quality control. read more

In a nutshell: undercooked, dry, tasteless risotto; mashed potatoes had no taste and were dry and pasty; Patrali sole was not Patrali sole; whatever it was it was overcooked, dry and tasteless except for the red stuff that tasted like cherry jam; quite sure they served us fried chunks of cod. Patrali sole is not that thick (as presented) but rather is presented as a thin fillet with Beurre blanc sauce; Schnitzel was 1 inch thick (not pounded thin) and covered with something that resembled chutney. the stone salad was not as advertised. This restaurant should consider hiring a good chef who can cook the food offered on the menu rather than a "cook". I ordered the Classic Shrimp Scampi, it was far from classic. Came out swimming in a white wine sauce that was as thin and the wine itself. Shrimp was cooked ok, but it didn't seem like it was pan fried at all. No garlic to be seen... and a large amount of capers, which I do like. The amount of pasta was a skimpy, but cooked just right. my companions and the ahi tuna and petite filet and said they we both great. our server was great and the views can't be beat. would not order this again. read more

Not impressed with the service or food quality at Remington's. We were seated and the manager asked if we wanted tap or sparkling water, we said tap was fine. But no one ever brought water, they just left empty water glasses. About 20 min later we asked if we could get water. I ordered the petite filet. The waitress didn't ask me about the salad it was supposed to come with. I asked if it came with a salad and she was like "oh yeah what kind do you want?". My husband sat with an empty drink for about 10 min before he was able to ask for a refill on his Pepsi. Next, we received our food. My salad came out at the same time as the steak. No steak knife was provided. I had originally asked for horseradish and had to remind the waitress twice before she brought it. Also, the veggies and mashed potatoes were like warm. I asked for them to be reheated. My steak was well done instead of medium. For a $40 steak I would like it to be cooked properly. My husband finished his entire meal (chicken sandwich- he said was ok) before I was able to enjoy mine. The service was just awful. It is what you'd expect at an Applebees and frankly Applebees would probably be 10 times better in terms of service. There are other nice restaurants in Montrose that we will continue to frequent instead of returning to Remington's. There is a nice view of the San Juan mountains but don't recommend the food. read more

Enjoyed an elegant dinner with friends. People, you need to be more understanding of wait personal and staff. Too many are rude and ignorant to others hardships. New chef, filet M was wonderful, cooked perfect. My only comment is that the dish does not need 3 different types of mushrooms. Horse main mushrooms are not impressive any where other than the wilderness. Wine selection, awesome, and again it is the staff that brings people back. I've eaten here two times before and going back!!! I love the cabin feel, the small-town family environment. The architecture, stone work and fire places are simply amazing, as well as the warm, friendly service. The food is amazing. My wife and I will be spending our 22nd anniversary here. I've lived in the area about 30 years and I wish I had known about it sooner. But with this experience I can say, Remingtons is likely the best all-around restaurant in the Western Slope of Colorado. And because of it's secluded location, it has a nice balanced ratio of diners to servers. read more

We gave Remingtons another try last night. Took an hour and a half to get our food. Steaks were almost raw, pork chops raw, mashed potato's cold as well as the veggies x , the plates were hot. The check was wrong g and had to be corrected. Long story short we had to send 4 of the 6 plates of food back and after over two hours we were just wanting to leave and will not return. read more

Dinner here was one of the highlights of our time in Montrose. We did 3 shared plates: chicken-mango quesadilla, shrimp-avocado crostini, and loaded nachos. All were fantastic and just the right amount for the 2 of us. We also had a Blue Agave Margarita that was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. We shared a small but excellent Creme Brûlée for dessert. Our waiter, Robert, was attentive and friendly. Headed over to Remington's for a family lunch during Christmas and they seated the eight of us easily without a reservation. We all ordered different things, and everyone raved about the food, but I'm going to wax rhapsodic about the Cubano sandwich. It was UH-mazing! Hmm, not super rhapsodic, but they say brevity is the soul of wit...or something. Moving on! I would also highly recommend the jalapeño cheddar tater tots. Incredibly tasty! They're very mild, with just the tiniest kick that my wimpy sister could even handle. :-) The burgers looked amazing, but I was too busy snarfing down my Cubano to ask anyone for a bite. Service was fabulous, the decor high-class and elegant, and a view of the mountains that can't be beat. We were here yesterday for Mother's Day. I know they were busy, but the food tasted like they made it the day before. My eggs were cold. They redid them and they came back with raw egg whites. By then I lost my appetite. The waiter took the price of my meal off the check and still offered dessert. Both the dessert and appetizer were good. It wasn't the waiters fault. The potatoes were dry, the salad had no dressing on it, the Hollandaise sauce was awful and the polenta cakes were dry and rubbery. Like I said they made everything ahead so not good or fresh. Nobody at our table thought their meals were worth $30. Again the waiter was good, but he did tell me that poached eggs are meant to be cold. What? read more

If you're used to upper-scale golf club restaurants, then you may find the service a bit...under informed. That said, the food here is marvelous - I started with coconut encrusted shrimp, and ended with an Alaskan Filet of Cod sandwich on a potato roll. While this was a casual lunch, the food was well prepared, and prompt. The coffee was unexpectedly rich, and robust, and served in the cutest glass mugs. The club in which Remington's resides is also worth seeing, beautifully appointed and you'll find the atmosphere to be quiet and welcoming. As for the under informed wait staff well, perhaps I'm just a stickler, but dishes of food and drink were placed on the table much too far away for my reach and comfort, and sauces for the shrimp were removed from the table while shrimp was still being enjoyed. We have eaten at Remington's many times. The experiences are always hit and miss regarding service and/or quality of food. Three years ago we had brunch there and it was fantastic so we decided why not try brunch again because we know that it's decent. So, we arrived at 11 a.m. for brunch on a holiday weekend and we were literally the only people waiting to be seated - that should have raised a red flag immediately in hindsight. All three of us ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs are served on a slice of polenta along with spinach, prosciutto and a bearnaise sauce. It sounded delicious. We also ordered bloody marys, coffee, a side of sausage and a side of toast. The bloody marys were excellent. The coffee arrived cold. The toast arrived dry and without butter. We had to request butter which came out on a plate that was too large for a pad of butter and it was clear that the butter had been sliced from a stick of butter and then, as the waitress informed us, the butter was microwaved to soften them up a bit - resulting in very poor presentation. The eggs benedict arrived with a side salad and four slices of roasted potatoes. As soon as the eggs benedict arrived we were overwhelmed by the smell of old spinach. Our meal literally smelled like fish. We all tried it, hoping for the best, but the spinach was clearly old or frozen and tasted like fish. Our eggs were undercooked and dissolved immediately upon trying to cut into them. The polenta was hard and rubbery and honestly impossible to cut. To say that this meal was bad is an understatement. I was unable to eat it and my husband and son scraped off all the spinach and did their best to eat around the polenta. As we left the restaurant there were still only three additional tables in use - and mind you on our way to the restaurant we saw lines out the door at other breakfast places on this busy July 4th weekend. When I got home I decided to call and share my experience with the manager. I shared all the information I have written here with the bar manager who then said the general manager would call me back - which he did. He is a very kind man and is always so nice when we see him at Remington's. But this is the deal, when I shared my concerns with him he told me that 95% of the feedback they get is very good and my feedback is in the 5%. If that is true, why weren't the tables filled and why wasn't there a line of people waiting to eat on an incredibly busy July 4th weekend? The manager was very apologetic and assured me that the staff would get additional training, more culinary experience and that things would improve in the next couple weeks. However, I do not believe this because we have friends and family who have also visited Remington's over the last year and a half and have also shared their concerns with the manager and here we are - nothing changes. I shared this story with a friend and her response was "Omg I've had that eggs benedict - it is the worst eggs benedict I have ever had!" I really believe that as the western slope grows, and more competition comes to Montrose that restaurants like Remington's will be required to change. If this restaurant were dropped into Denver they would not make it more than a day; there's simply so much competition that no one would have to tolerate such bad food. It's unfortunate to see such potential for a beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous setting not come to fruition. Perhaps some day. In the meantime, I would not recommend it. read more

I was taken here by relatives who live in the area. The view is very nice be it inside the restaurant or on the terrace. Our waitress was quite pleasant and the service was O.K. However, our "Peach infused" Mule cocktail was tasteless and not at all what we expected. My dinner was the Balsamic and Dijon mustard Pork Tenderloin which, sadly, was also substandard in flavor and quality. The quality of the meat was tough and hard to cut as well as chew. I informed our waitress of this, but no attempt was made to offer a change. Poor Montrose, not many choices for a great dining experience. It's a nice, clean, little town which deserves some better choices. read more

Beautiful view south of the San Juans, we sat outside - service was good. For a light lunch, I ordered the chicken mango quesadilla with fresh salsa and sour cream. When it arrived, no salsa. I asked the server who said they were out of salsa, had been out for 2 days. What is a quesadilla without salsa? Not very good. Disappointing. Wondering why I wasn't told before hand? I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. Wondering why I didn't say more - or send it back - but I didn't. Also, took some searching to find a few tiny pieces of mango. I should have sent it back.
