We had the most delightful late lunch there with the trio of traveling Goldens! The staff was fantastic and kept the dog's water filled with ice water. The Burnt Ends were amazing and the Mac 'n Cheese burger was delicious. I wish I had room to try the Peach Cobbler! Will have to have that on the next trip. We stumbled on this place on a road trip. There was only one waitress working the whole lunch rush because a fatal accident closed the road for the other employees to get to work. She hustled her tail off and was super friendly and awesome! My kids had the chicken tenders and Mac and cheese and I had the brussel salad. My salad was soooo yummy! The food was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the creole pasta and it was just delicious. We also had a burger that was great and don't get me started on the fries. The fries were absolutely delicious some of the best I've ever had. Their cheese curds and Mac balls were great. 100% would recommend! We've been coming to the area for years but never tried this place. Saw a few reviews online that said it was kid friendly so we gave it a shot and we're so impressed. The restaurant is split into two, a bar and dining room so if you're really not comfortable with your kids bring around alcohol you can take them into the dining room. The service was wonderful. Been wanting to come here since the place opened, so made a quick stop for a bite after a morning of paddleboarding. Decor was pretty much the same (formerly the Full Tilt Saloon). Still had the cool rustic table tops and the pool table in the back. Always loved the outdoor patios which offer a nice alternative and a great place for live band nights! (which I understand they have regularly). Menu had a nice variety of tasty items, including gluten free options. I ordered the Brown Derby Salad sans the ham and croutons. Hubby got the Fish and Chips. Our server was very friendly and even recommended that I get the half salad...it was pretty big so I appreciated the tip. :) Overall I'd say the Lazy Dog Saloon is solid and a welcome addition to the restaurant circuit in Ridgway. It's not on the main drag, so don't miss it! It's tucked in the corner at 153 U.S. Highway 550 next to Rocky Mountain Cannabis. Check it out peeps! read more

Love the place, staff and food! Went numerous times this summer and brought friends with me to try it out. For food we loved the onion rings as an appetizer and the kids loved the Mac N Cheese as well as the adults. Also all the entrees I tried were great from the burger, chicken sandwich to the blackened Mahi. You cant go wrong. The wait staff is all really friendly and there were lots of creative drinks to choose from in addition to the beer/regular bar selections. We also saw a couple different bands here that played on the side patio. Great atmosphere and the music was awesome. Lastly, our kids loved playing on the pool table in the back which was free to use and a hit for where they wanted go. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

Looked up reviews. Ok looked pretty good. Wrong. Husband's burger was just OK. One very thin piece of lettuce and very thin tomato....the kicker was the nasty old fries. Literally like they were left over and reheated. Tons of small burnt pieces. Kinda felt like rubber. It was early and we were close to the only ones (two regulars at the bar ) in the restaurant so it wasn't because they were busy. As the old saying goes " You get one chance to make a good first impression". FAIL $50 fail with tip. Won't be going back. read more

Great atmosphere. 5 top table neat was playing poker. There was a pool table behind the bar area. Think they are short staffed. We were treated well but you could tell they were thin. I'm a local, but this is the sort of place I look for when I'm traveling. The food and the service are great, the atmosphere is open and relaxing, and it's easy to find. Too many eateries in mountain towns are overpriced and unreliable; quality depends on the season or the mood of the staff. The Lazy Dog is owned and run by full-time residents and it shows in the pride they put into their restaurant. I'm a big fan! read more

Worst $70 we've spent on a lunch for three adults in Colorado so far and my parents & I are not high maintenance or boujee people. Mom's burger ordered medium was red in the center and they added on a $1.50 charge for ranch that wasn't ordered. My burger had the extra charge as well and was ok but the fries were all stale. Dad's "special" shrimp gyro was something that we are hoping doesn't make him sick later...oh...and his fries were also all stale. Terrible food and definitely not worth the $70 tab! read more

This is our opinion so you do you. But we would never go back!!! We went on July 3rd, 2023 about 1pm and just a few customers. We asked for waters so we could look at the bar menu. Never got the waters. The server made our drinks. Out of five drinks only one was good. It was a can of beer so hard to mess that up. The Cordon Moo burger was actually the best part of the meal. All the French Fries were rubbery so we didn't eat them. We wouldn't suggest this place to even an enemy. read more

After a very long day of grueling and beautiful hiking, we stumbled across Lazy Dog after True Grit turned us away because they closed the kitchen 15 mins before closing time. The food was amazing and Sierra (the owner) was such a delight. She treated us like we were royalty and we didn't even know she was the owner until our meal was done. We were a couple of pilots flying into Telluride and ended up in a small community called Ridgway. We are looking for a very comfortable restaurant just to hang out after a long day. This place was absolutely perfect. We met one of the co-owners, Sierra and she was absolutely delightful. She was very attentive, prompt and had a beautiful personality. The menu had a wide variety of food, I ordered the steak medium rare and it came exactly as I wanted. The other Pilot commented that it was one of the best chicken sandwiches you ever read. Every other restaurant in town seemed swamped but we found the Lazy Dog pleasantly uncrowded. Service was friendly and attentive. The food had no business being so good! We had the fried pickles appetizer which were just perfect. The pepper jelly arugula burger was magical as were the impossibly crunch/fluffy sweet potato tots that came with it. The lazy dog saloon is a great, new locally owned restaurant. I had the half pound burger and my wife ordered the fish and chips. Both were reasonably priced, I think my burger was $12, and they each came with a generous portion of crispy fries. On draft, they have several local beers plus a very delicious cider. Me and two co-workers wandered in after a hard work day. Ridgway has a lot of really good dining options but one of my buddies wanted to try this. Where do I start. We were seated quickly and soon Sierra was getting our drink order. Between the three of us we had pork burnt ends, mahi, the filet, gumbo and Mach Choix. The chef came out and chatted us up. Food came quick, portions were big, everything was cooked perfectly. These folks are serious about good food. Everything was prepared with great care and creativity. This is the classic "hole in the wall" where the food is unique and amazing. I live 80 miles away and would happily drive there just for dinner. They specialize in cajun food which is a good thing. The chef is from New Orleans and really knows his stuff. This little unassuming place is a foodie paradise and I have nothing negative to say. I can't wait to bring other people here. We ordered enough food for 5 or six people and I was surprised at how low the bill was. I give this place my highest rating! read more
