Had a good visit to the Winter Haven location of this chain. Popped in for happy hour and a bite to eat. Was greeted warmly upon entry. Bartender was busy, but kind. The chips and queso were great! Chips are always so fresh at Chili's! The new lemon drop margarita was good. At only $6 the price was amazing. Restaurant was clean and ambience was upbeat. He was very attentive and checked on us often, even though he became very busy during our time there. This is a casual restaurant. There is a separate full bar. The food is great. The service is great. If you have any issues, just let a manager know and they will make it right. I had a really disappointing experience at THIS Chili's Grill & Bar. When I first walked in, the older woman at the front didn't greet me at all, which already set a bad tone. After being seated, I ordered a strawberry lemonade, but when it came out, it tasted sour, off, and was very foamy on top. I only took one sip and couldn't drink it. I asked to switch it to a Diet Coke and even asked the bartender/server if it would be the same price. She told me yes, but when I checked after I got done paying and left the store it was about a $0.50 difference. It's not about the money, it's about accuracy. As a bartender/server, you should know your prices, especially when a customer barely touched the original drink due to quality issues. The service only got worse from there. The bartender/server with the facial dermal piercing kept walking past me multiple times without checking in or seeing if I needed anything. My food took about 35+ minutes to come out, and when it finally did, the chicken tenders were extremely soft, oddly shaped, and just didn't look right. When I brought it up, I was told "that's how they come," which didn't make sense at all. On top of that, my fries didn't even come out with the meal. I had to keep asking for them. When they finally arrived, it was a very small portion in a large container, basically mostly air. The overall service and attitude were rude, inattentive, and unprofessional. I came here after visiting LEGOLAND and it was a great ending to my day. I recently turned 21 and had one of their slushy margaritas, and let me tell you... it was fabulous! We waited a long time to be greeted, and even longer for our food, with no explanation or apology. Our server seemed uninterested and rarely checked on us, even when our drinks were empty. The service was good and quick. They worked as a team the manager came by to make sure we were happy with everything. Don't usually order a steak there but ordered a medium sirloin with street corn + broccoli. The steak was cooked to perfection, the corn was delicious and a nice portion of broccoli. I only come here for dinner around happy hour so my observations are based on this time frame First I arrived about 530 on March 18 and I have to say the staff was scrubbing the place down like it was a hospital!!! Even the menus were getting cleaned. Kudos to the manager for caring!! Second I have never ever had bad service here. After a long hot day visiting Lego land, we decided to skip the hotel restaurant and try Chilis. I honestly don't understand why the reviews for this location so low. I put our name on waitlist and maybe had a 15/20 minute wait? Our server Brandon very nice and attentive. The food was very good. Our 5 year old granddaughter raved about the cheese pizza! I know this is a hard time for restaurants, hard to find workers, everyone working at this restaurant was hustling. I'm so used to writing glowing reviews and this is really disappointing to have to spend time on the negative but if this saves others from a similar experience it's worth it. Run don't walk from considering to order fro here. Nothing we got was warm or edible. I wouldn't feed the brown lettuce Caesar to our dogs. Looks like it was pulled out of the garbage. And the bowl of chili (more like half of a cup) was ice cold and lacking tortilla strips and cheese. The pictures I'm sure won't do it justice. Don't it just make your mouth water Best part though was the customer service. Taylor is fabulous at putting you on hold and forgetting about you. After calling for a manager and being put on hold for 5+ minutes twice I called back and told them not to bother and enjoy the Yelp review. Rachel from Chili's just lied about reserving the table ahead of time and putting my name down. By far the worst service I have ever had, I thought about a plate of food with some one on me to still get the wrong order. The fries were hard as a rock and the second plate of food was still the first plate of pasta noodles , same plate was wiped off with a rag . You could still see the residue. I've been dissed at this place 4 times because of their crappy service. I decided to keep giving them my business in hopes that they would change but today was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I arrived at 12 noon today. It's was not busy or packed with plenty of tables available. The waitress seated the family before me and when it came to my wife and I which were a party of two. she made us wait and told us it would be five minutes. Five minutes came and went and another server came and informed us it was gonna be another five minutes to wait; now mind you we had been there going on 10 minutes And no one has come through the door behind us. When we asked him why did we have to wait more his explanation was because they were a little busy which was a lie. It's obvious that my money is not good their. So I left with my wife. Note to Chili's you are not a Michelin star rated restaurant and I know fast food places serve food in less than five minutes even during peak hours y'all need to get it together or you gonna start losing more customers like me who normally would visit your place weekly or biweekly. The remodel here looks nice it's been a little since dining in here. Looks clean sns wsrm and inviting now. I was impressed. We csme to this location because the other one had a staff that looked bewildered and frankly a little lost. Many open tables but we were told there would be a wait there. The food as always here is served hot and well presented. The server was so nice and personable it made the meal that much more enjoyable. As usual I had the smokehouse and my wife had soup. 2 choices on the smokehouse is sbout sll you can handle the portion is that big. Definitely like the service here snd the update looks nice. We went in today and was told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. No problem with that we sit in the bar area which had no wait. Approximately 10 minutes after sitting down the only person that asked us anything was the hostess. The bar tender looked our way but never addressed us. We had servers walk by back and forth. The longer we sat the more pissed we got and finally told the hostess thank you for seating us but we were leaving. We had our run ins with Chili's before and I guess we will just stop going to all.
