Great little local coffee shop in lake city! I came here just for coffee, but noticed the awesome breakfast menu and wished I had been there in time to partake (they stop serving breakfast at 11am). I love that they call the dirty chai latte a "dirty hippie" and of course I got that. They only offer soy and almond as alternative milks, so I got it with almond. It wasn't as good as oat milk, but still amazing and really revived me. I'd highly recommend this coffee shop! read more

My Husband and I enjoyed a drip coffee and a Italian soda from here. The staff were all friendly and there was plenty of room to enjoy your drinks or food both inside or outside. I appreciated the amount of American flags and patriotism focused décor. A great small town coffee shop to visit. read more

We met friends at Chillin' last night for a few drinks and to listen to the live music. I am a whiskey drinker and they had a local Lake City whiskey that was delicious! It was Charlie & Katherine's Old Fashioned Barrel Aged Whiskey. The bartender added a few Amarena Fabbri wild cherries and a splash of the cherry syrup. I was surprised what a wonderful old fashion the bartender made. The music was as good as going to a live concert for a big band! I highly recommend Chillin'! read more

I was in town working remote and saw that this place had WiFi so decided to give it a shot. I was there for about 4 hours in total and I spent $55 between breakfast, lunch and a drink. Breakfast was so-so, nothing to write home about: the pulled pork was good and I would honestly visit again if Jeff, the owner (I'm assuming) wasn't so rude. Benefit of the doubt he may have been having a bad day - at once point the music was turned on and up really loud and I was informed he was in arguing with someone so had turned up the volume to buff that out. For context, I was in the cafe for about 30 minutes and I was waiting for the line to die down so I didn't have to stop working for 30 minutes to wait in line - figured I'd be there for a while so I would wait until I could walk right up and order. He came over and rudely asked if I had ordered yet to which I replied I was waiting for the line to die down and then I planned on ordering and would also be ordering again later (when I work at places like this in order to use their WiFi I like to buy something once an hour to make sure I'm giving them business as I'm using their services). He proceeded to ignore my comment. Later, I was squeezing between the wall and the table and accidentally tapped the guitar on the wall as I was getting out of the chair (keep in mind there is about a cm between the table and the wall - I am a small human and it was a tight squeeze). It barely tapped the guitar but it moved slightly. He got abrasive with me and told me not to hit the guitar off the wall because it's 45 years old. First of all, I didn't. Secondly, if you're going to place a relic on a wall don't put the table/chairs so close to the wall or maybe attach it in a manner that it won't move when very lightly tapped. I apologized and said I didn't mean to hit it and again I was met with a rude stare. Either this guy just decided from the get go that he didn't like me, he was having a bad day, or he just an incredibly rude human being. Either way, it was extremely unnecessary. I hate to say I won't return somewhere just because of an experience with one person but the owner was just so rude that I really don't want to take my business there again. I would give a 1 star review based on the interactions I had with him alone but the internet was good, the food was decent, and the other gal there was very sweet (5 stars for her because she was great and handled a busy day like a pro!!) so knocking it up to 2 stars. While on a fly fishing mini-vacation in the San Juans, I needed to get an hour's worth of work done early one morning. I popped in here got a coffee and got to work. The wifi was good and so was the coffee. I did get breakfast which was a little on the greasy side but tasty, fresh and hot. The service was fine and everyone was friendly. The place appears to be a gathering spot for Texans who whole up in Lake City on long vacations in the summer. Interesting conversations. read more

As I walked in, an older lady (I presume the owner? ) announced 'we don't care about masks here!' Uh... I do, as I'm immune compromised!!! Should have left, but I went ahead and got a latte (made twice, as I asked for non dairy and the young lady immediately started making with milk) and a muffin that tasted like it had gotten lost on the back shelf for a month. The food is pretty good and it's one of the few places open during hunting season. Not much seating available in the restaurant. Also there are quite a bit of far right political signs on the walls. I understand this is rural Colorado and the owners can display what they want but I prefer my breakfast without controversial political views. read more

If you are looking for a politicized, and bad breakfast this is the place. It's over priced, and the breakfast burrito was 90% potato. A hint to the chef might be to cook the potatoes. For 32 dollars we got the worst breakfast ever. Not to mention the unwelcoming aura of the place. Never will ever eat here again. They also forgot my drink. read more

So great! By far, the best meal we had in Lake City! We wandered over on the afternoon of 8/22/17 and had coffees and tea. Took a look at the menu and chatted with the owners. Decided to come back for lunch the next day. Soooooo worth it. I had the turkey melt with bacon. ADD THE BACON!!! My husband had the bacon melt. My kiddo shared with both of us. Seriously, it's magic bacon. The owners are doing everything right. It's simple food done to perfection. Beautifully prepared, you can see the love. You can taste the patience. Make sure when you go and get a coffee you get a small, because if you get a large they rip you off and fill it 3/4 full of fucking foam. 6.25 for 3 inches of coffee. Check your coffee before you get out the door. I'm a regular to this coffee shop and it's just gotten worse and worse. I'm really sad because i love the owners but they just don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. They've lost my business. read more

The best daily option between hitting the Alpine Loop for trail riding! Also best pet friendly patio in town. We have only been there for breakfast, but understand that they have live music and an all day menu with a wide variety of "stick to your bones" type menu options. Can't speak for the coffee nor wifi personally. I had frequented this place for a week mainly for their bbq. The owners were friendly each time I had stopped in. We were invited to stop by Friday evening for music & drinks out in the back. The backyard is set up for a music venue of a smaller gathering with a small bar for beer & a handful of mixed drinks. The owner had introduced me to one of his old fashion mixed drinks & I became an immediate fan. Others in our party were quite pleased with with their coffee's , breakfast , bbq & drinks through out that week. Don't let the little coffee shop vibe fool you into thinking that's all this place is cracked up to be.... definitely more than that. read more

We visited Chillin at least 4 times in one week and highly recommend it. We ate breakfast there twice- good coffee, bacon, biscuits and croissants. We ate a BLT at lunch and it was also good. We came late one Tuesday to hear the owner (Jeff) sing. He has an awesome voice and had over 80 people listening. Jeff, the owner came out on the deck to visit with us one afternoon and he is a real nice guy. Great wifi. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews or voice complaints after I've received sub-par service, but my experience at Chillin' Coffee Shop today bothered me so much I felt compelled to do so. I ordered a hazelnut iced coffee and watched the woman making it remove the cap from the hazelnut syrup and pour enough syrup in my cup to fill it about 1/3 of the way full. I thought it seemed like a lot of syrup, but I'm no expert and thought maybe it would be fine. I mixed in some cream and was SHOCKED with how sweet the drink was when I took my first sip. It was like drinking pure hazelnut syrup; completely undrinkable. I even had two others in my group taste the drink to make sure they found it as sweet as I had. I contemplated whether I should ask her to remake my drink or just toss it in the trash and not say anything. My family assured me that I should just go back inside and ask her to make another. When I asked the woman who made it if she could make me another but this time with a very small amount of the flavored syrup since the one she had served me was so sweet there was no way anyone could consume it, her unbelievably rude response was that she couldn't make me another for free because she had made "what I asked for". Yes, I asked for a hazelnut coffee but I did not ask for her to pour an absurd amount of syrup into the drink. Go to any real coffee shop and they would not POUR syrup in your drink but rather put 1 or 2 pumps in the cup. In hindsight, I should have said something when she was making the drink to start with. I've been coming to Lake City for years and always enjoy the friendly locals and business owners. This is the first poor experience I've had anywhere. I didn't order any food; maybe it's okay, but if anyone is looking for coffee, definitely don't come here. To the woman who made the drink, I encourage you to taste one of the flavored iced coffees you've made. It may give you a little more perspective into what your paying guests are experiencing. read more
