Coffee bear is such a nice spot right on silverton's Main Street. I came for a coffee in the morning before going hiking nearby and they open early (6:30a) so it was really convenient! The place was pretty busy already by 7:15am but it's got enough space and tables there were plenty of places to sit and wait. I got a mocha breve latte and it was wonderful, perfect way to start the morning. They have free water, bathrooms, and wifi too. Perfect spot to hang out and pass some time or study/read. The worst matcha ive ever had, the BEST chai ive ever had. 100% recommend for coffee and they're other array of drinks and simply for the vibes, ESPECIALLY the chai, really its great get it. However im a person who judges baristas based on their matcha haha. It was unsweetened (which is fine just no warning, i usually like it that way) and was prepared poorly, they make it with a matcha whisk but mine was clumped around the bottom(not whisked long enough or with bad ratio), really no worse way to ruin a good drink. I recommend they get a hand held milk frother dedicated to the drink to speed up time and maintain quality. Otherwise GREAT and the oat milk is good too! Everyone go here! So great! I totally recommend. The staff was so sweet, the restaurant was beautiful, clean, and so adorably vintage! They had delicious coffee, but not many food options when I came. Great for a quick stop on our road trip. I got the caramel macchiato. I had fun sipping peacefully, and playing chess with my family in the back lounge area. The coffee was good to average but the burritos were over salted to the point of being inedible! I did talk to the all three employees about it and was brushed off saying it's the steak seasoning on the potatoes and they couldn't remake it without the potatoes while giggling in my face. But, it seemed like the only game in town at the moment for a Sunday. The two girls behind the counter seemed engaged with one another; but easily overwhelmed when a group of four women came in and ordered some soda concoction. Finally got our burritos and they were cold. $30 was a tad steep for sub-par food. And, don't get me started on how dirty the place had been. We were just passing through to check out the small town and stopped in to grab a quick snack. It's super cute and clean inside, I love the vibes. I'm sure their coffee is delicious. My 3 stars is specifically for the magic bars. The baked goods are made in house, this is definitely a plus. "When were they are made"? is a question you might want to ask before you order yours! Mine was so dry. I could tell it was not made today. I couldn't take it out of the bag to eat bc it was crumbling everywhere. I was pretty disappointed. A local coffee shop like this has such potential to be great! I would say it's expected to be great! Unfortunately my experience was not. Probably the best coffee/espresso within an hour drive. They use Kaladi from Denver beans, so that's probably why. I'm subtracting a star because their barista training/experience is inconsistent. We love this place and get coffee here every time we are in Silverton. I wish there was a breakfast option for those who are gluten free. They have pre-made burritos. I wish they offered a "bowl" option. I could request for them to make one like that, but they have a sign hanging that says any modifications will "slow them down" and have a $1 fee. Ambiance is great. We love going to the roof top for the view. Service is mixed. Sometimes the servers are friendly and sometimes they seem annoyed with your presence. We still keep coming back! Arrived before 8 am on a Sunday and the place was already hopping. We took our drinks (carmel machiatto for me, London fog and cocoa for my companions) up to the roof top where it was cool enough to cozy up in the available blankets. There are steel drum fireplaces up there too, but they were not lit at the moment. The view was beautiful. The best thing about the visit, bar none, was the lemon bar. I mean-oh my gravy! I love lemon and I love lemon bars but usually avoid them because I'm a stealth eater and the powdered sugar gives you away. This bar had an icing on the top and it was chewy!!! First of all, they made me a London Fog, and for this tea drinker, I was sold immediately. It's just a cool place with excellent products. My hubby got a macchiato which he said was really good and well made. We also got a blueberry muffin to eat there which was excellent and ordered a chicken salad sandwich (one of the best I have EVER had, and I'm picky about that) and a smashed sandwich (ham and Swiss on a croissant which was then grilled) and that was good too. So my friends came here a week before we did doing a cross-country trip and they told us to check out this coffee bar because not only the price is amazing but the quality of the coffee is outstanding. My husband and I had a huge hike the very next morning so we stopped by at six in the morning and sure enough there was a giant line even out the door and we were worried. It was gonna take a long time but we were inside the doors less than two minutes and they were really quick on getting your order and, picking up your order within 10 minutes. we try hot white chocolate mocha, and it was exquisite so for the next four days while we were in town, we stopped by there. we are pretty bummed out that we have a really cool tasting coffee shop like this place so if you're nearby, definitely stop by. read more

Stopped in Coffee Bear on a drive from Durango to Crested Butte. The coffee was excellent and service was fast--our group got a mocha breve and a mocha frozen drink. Really loved the overall design of the shop and multiple tiers of comfortable seating. Even though it was a drizzly morning and we didn't get to enjoy all the long-range views from the top patio, the rain made both the shop and views of main street feel even more cozy. If we hadn't been on a tight travel schedule, this would have been the perfect place to curl up with a book for a while.
