Next time, I'm just getting pozole. The Milanesa was delicious. I made two discoveries. Milanesa is best friends with lettuce/salad. And, Milanesa is best friends with refried beans. Light, perfectly seasoned breading, and a thin piece of misc beef. DELICIOUS. Can't wait to eat the leftovers! Sidenote: on Telemundo, they had this semi-gruesome show about a lady who goes cuckoo and kidnaps another woman (for what reason, I'm not sure) and lays out these torture implements to hurt and, I'm thinking, eventually kill the woman. I saw a pick-axe, some surgical scissors, a knife, and some other things I didn't recognize. Made for an interesting end-of-meal experience. Service at the end was a bit on the slow side, due to the server also being the cook. A lady helper walked in a bit later in the meal, but never emerged to help in the dining room.

The owners here do not speak English, so be patient, point to menu items and sound it out. Their seafood soup and massive shrimp cocktails are what those in the know come here for. They serve a molcajete here as well which I see a lot. Me? So far I stick to their tacos. Simple, fresh, inexpensive. Their complimentary chips are too hard for my liking. Micheladas are popular here too, but again, I have yet to try theirs. Overall, sometimes I feel unwelcome here. It's hard to get the woman running the place to even smile for me. Yet she's friendly with other customers. Even some customers here tend to stare. But I keep coming back.

What I absolutely loved was a little sweetness to the pork. It took a few minutes until I realized it was pineapple. Love it! The toppings are in a chilled cooler so it makes it easy to individualize your meal. I went with cilantro and red onion. Sorry I didn't take pictures of them--the smell demanded they be eaten immediately. I talked with some others at the convention who also got food here, and they raved about the burrito and the quesadilla.
